I think this was already discussed, but i spent ALL saturday trying to get good pics for you guys.:)
Oh and one more thing, you can also see traces of the full track in the little video preview in the race menu. (look carefully) :)

Im sorry if you guys dont really feel this is important, i just want to further the fact that this track CAN be drivable.
THE STRAIGHT IS OUT OF REACH BUT IS VISIBLE IN THE RACE MENU

Huh, are you talking about the fact that the old circuit is partially visible from the front stretch by the first chicane?

You can see the banked turn for sure. Anyway I've been aware of this for a while and I doubt the model fidelity is that high for stuff you usually don't see when racing. It's not like there's an entire driveable circuit hidden away.

well... i'm sure everyone saw the beginning, middle and end. but i went into photomode and saw behind the trees and whatnot. not to mention i glitched my way on the oval. :) (Resets at the very beginning of the banking)

A little off topic, but does anyone know what ^ this bit is? Is it one of those little paths that form a shorter course? I've always wondered

That's the ring version of the track, used for junior racers.

I was just going to make a thread about PD adding the full Monza track with the epic banked corner. good find let's hope we can drive it one day :D

Only issue is that it would require some historical work. Its been about 40 years since the oval was used in a major race.

This is the problem. the whole oval has the same look all around. (not sure about the straight though, its there though) so basically, even if this is fully modeled, it wouldn't be historically correct.

I heard that it wasnt fully modeled and that you would basically drive through the ground if you managed to glitch back there ... prior to when they added the reset to track

To restore full track layout they also should remove ALL chicanes, not just first. The actual UC track is a joke. They did nothing but removing poly walls from 1st chicane. Old track layout require remodeling.
For these who don't know how fast it was, follow the video corner sequence (refer to above maps): right oval banking, Biassono, Lesmo 1-2, Ascari, Parabolica, left oval banking.

I dont know why but back when we could glitch, there were FULLY modeled signs and billboards Facing the opposite direction of the track... And when you glitch fuji... There was modeling that went for miles not only in the distance, but also down... (and no I did not know how to do laps, I just knew how to glitch the tracks...) I found this out when I glitched then went into the photo mode in replay. But ya, makes me wonder why so much modeling is wasted on content we cant even see?

I really hope they add the rest of the track. I Tweeted Kaz, about doing so, over the weekend. If SMS can model it for S2 and NOT use it, there isn't any reason why PD can't do it.

I've been using the old Monza banking as my GT5 profile pic since release. Pity the historic sections aren't available and sadly I doubt they ever will.

I think there are licensing problems!?

But anyway, even if its an historical track, nobody needs another oval race track... Nothing is more boring...

^ I like how the gear lever moves on it's own.

That's a limitation of the data saved into a replay, coupled with the way car models are handled. The driver does it "himself" when racing; people tend to prefer not to capture video when hotlapping. ;)
Here's a more recent version of the ("a") 10k track for GPL, in the 1966+ Sports Car configuration ("Mille Chilometri di Monza"), and no mention of the banking is complete without a Grand Prix reference; both show just how bumpy the banking was:

I'm interested to see these pictures, and agree that the original chicane-less (including at Ascari, excellent though it is) version alone would be a lot of fun, if not the full ten-kilometre course with the banked oval. :)

It seems like you don`t know that its the GP Circuit with the Oval combined.

That track made much more fun to drive and race against other people in GPL then any other track I have encountered in sim racing so far. Not even the `66s Nordschleife from GPL came close.

Just give it a try.

Is not only monza, in Le sarthe you can see than the Bugatti layout is actually modeled (not detailed but is there )
