PD must be doing something awesome.

I'm willing to keep the faith and rather than get mad that we haven't heard anything, I'm excited for the surprise they may have in store for us. Think about it like this, when your a kid and you don't know what your getting at Christmas even though you moaned and droned and wined to your thoughtful parents (whose initial could both be PD) it was actually much better and they were in fact right.

So who's with me in the thinking that PD will surprise us with something special.

I don't know if I'm with me but I'm hoping I am... If I know what I mean???

the only thing is... I paid for this game, and I don't want surprises. I want the features that were promised!

GT5 was the deathstar:lol:
They've been using the farce...

Gran Turismo players: Where are the features we require.

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: [with a small wave of his hand] You don't require any extra features.

Gran Turismo players: We don't require any extra features.

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: These are not the add-ons you're looking for.

Gran Turismo players: These are not the add-ons we're looking for.

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: You can go about your business.

Gran Turismo players: We can go about our business.

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: Move along.

Gran Turismo players: Moving along... moving along.

I agree with you that it's nice to have an amazing surprise sometimes. But we're not children here, we are adults and like @Hypergolem said: We paid for the game. So PD should deliver as promised. In general businesses that over-promise and under-deliver do not have a great future.

the only thing is... I paid for this game, and I don't want surprises. I want the features that were promised!

And which part of the "promise" has not been delivered?

Probably another of those useless vision cars. I had the chance to try Assetto Corsa the other day and I got sad thinking about the GT franchise. So many possibilities and so many weird decisions. How is it possible that a few guys can create an experience so much more engaging with only a few cars and tracks? Where is PD going? What are they thinking? More than six iterations of the game and we are not able to create our own races! What is the point of having 1200 cars if I can't race against them? How hard could it be to add one difficulty option where cars don't slow down and wait for you to catch up? Just sad.

Can you just go ahead and make posts like this everyday? Slamming. Absolutely slamming. 👍

I owe you a beer.

The latest technology for the ultimate experience:
-Horrible engine sounds
Tyre model:
-Running slicks in the rain is still the best tyre
HDR & Adaptive Tesselation:
-You see the rendering of shadows happening whilst you're driving.
Online:
-Many disconnects, see the forums
A Variety of Game Modes Filled with New Challenges
-Where's the challenge? Golded almost every event in one or two tries (including Vettel)

Then there's the problem with AI drivers. They somehow forget how to drive when they enter the last lap, giving you an easy win.

To name a few.

To answer your question, this --> "With powered-up online competition, brand-new community functions". The same community functions that had a selection button on the disc version, but that were removed with 1.01 (assumably because they were unfinished).

Imagine you buy a car, you're told it has a leather interior. You get it home, put in the garage, and wake up in the morning and your interior is gone. You get a letter from your dealer saying that they have upgraded your car. You ask about your now missing interior...no answer.

Is it splitting hairs? Maybe, but there were community features in GT5 (and many other features that are missing). People are justifiably upset that useful, working, GT5 features didn't get carried over when the expectation was that they'd be expanded.

The only thing I'm actually upset about is that people are upset and not converting. Fewer people online means less variety for me. I'm looking forward to the community features (as they were described in presentations) and I hope it leads to more people converting over to GT6.

I dont get why GT5 still has weekly support and they pretty much ignore GT6 existence I mean, if it wasent ready then why even release it?

I'm guessing they are working hard on a PS4 game with VR and getting to stage where they can show it off and even release either later this year or start of next year. GT6 will probably get the hand downs, the features they mentioned it will receive once they get it running properly on PS3.

Dang... The thing is most people don't even care about DLC they just want the CORE promised features, after we get them at least we have what we paid for :)

My prediction...

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in hope and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible will happen.

And finally...

Obi-Wan Kaznobi: "Who's the more foolish, the fool or the fools who follow him?"

That's enough Stars Wars from me.

Back to topic - I'm just hoping for the Course Creator (providing it's good) and I'll be be a happy bunny. I'll probably never sleep again.

What if you wait and you end up getting garbage? or is it because it's PD's garbage, whatever they throw out there is "special"

You have a point. If they actually are going to surprise us, it better be good.

With the lack of communication from PD they should be busy working on a good surprise for us.

Of course I'm only speculating.

If what we get next week is the BMW VGT and the new Ronda track (which could quite easily be just made from the future coursemaker and designed to showcase it's attributes) then I think a lot of people aren't going to be thinking PD is so awesome...
I think you're going to be surprised how wrong you are. Sure, it won't last all that long, no one in today's age is satisfied with very much. But that's more a commentary on how sad human nature is than anything.

Yes you are correct, they are doing something awsome.......

They have moved onto GT7.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is the case. And frankly, I want it to be true. I'm really "disappoint" with how antiquated PS3 is compared to the average gaming laptop, and I've never stopped itching to see what Gran Turismo can be on PS4.

I don't get some people. They say PD promises are always broken (delayed or never show up). But on the other hand they take the 'GT7 on PS4 next year' too literary. So is it a case of -we'll always think the worst- scenario ? ... Do you people think that PD can release a game -let alone a full one- in one year ? .. lmao funny people .. Unless they employed a whole different staff of 200-300 people to make everything premium (tracks & cars) since the PS3 limits was in the way. I think they mean that they will start working on GT7 in a year.

When GT5 servers close -I think- everyone (most people) will come to GT6 because GT is what they know and its hard for people to move onto another game that's unfamiliar. By that time I think most if not all the features PD promised to be in GT6 will be implemented.

Only options GT fans on GTP have are moving onto another racing game and stop complaining on GTP, play other games till GT6 is sorted out and stop complaining on GTP, or just wait it out and stop complaining on GTP. We heard it all and seen it.

If you are surprised with laptop's performance, imagine with desktop PC's ;)
That was exactly my point. Fortunately, even as relatively underwhelming PS4 is on paper compared to a gaming PC, it should provide a superb gaming experience for several years.

They are just reading really hard our suggestions pages.
And deciding what will be in future updates and visions.
This is what many of us are hoping for. In my case, particularly for GT7.

Yes. Both PC and console have advantages and disadvantages. I think PC fanboyism / console fanboyism is stupid and the best is to have both.
A high end gaming PC is already better than the next-gen consoles... but it can cost about 3 times as much as a PS4

"With powered-up online competition, brand-new community functions" says a lot more detail to you than I read into it. But I'm new to GT.

HUh wait a minute. I'm Watto. These Jedi tricks don't work on me

Hi @GBO Possum

From your signature - Is GT6 "half full" or "half empty?

I'd say it's half full at the moment, but there's a bit of a crack in it and it's starting to leak a little. But after applying a bit of sealant it could eventually reach the brim. ;)

I'm not sure if everyone will agree that it overflows though.

Gran Turismo Arena
This is a multipurpose arena used to accommodate tens of thousands of spectators, with a special circuit set up on its field. The total length of the course is short at 668 metres, but the variety of corners in its layout is equal to a large scale circuit. This is a great stage for Karts and small displacement cars. You can also remove the cornerstones and corner barriers to set up a variety of attractions using cones.

If there was a way to add a firework display on this part I would. Not much bothers me when it comes to other people and their opinions, we all are entitled to them. But dang, defending something that's in BLACK AND WHITE. How... how can you? "Future update" is left to interpretation so you (not you personally) can't really argue a particular timeframe for things like B-Spec, Community and so on. It's all in the wording. As long as it's done before the world ends, they held up their end of the "promise". No date=no specific expectation. Maybe that's why there aren't any dates attached to the future content. Look what happens when even Jordan, the man with a reputation to uphold give some info and it's not met. Right away it's his fault. I could have sworn it says "Polyphony Digital" not "Jordan Digital" on the cover of GT6.

I know I might seem like a I'm stuck on this, but let's face it, that was a part of their selling point/reason to buy. "Wow look what I can do from day one". NOT!!! The way we are held to the Terms and Conditions for Gran Turismo 6 (or AUP like here on GTPlanet) I'm/we should hold them to their own words.... see the bold above. If they (Sony/PD) can't get something like this right... how can we trust they get anything unreleased right?

I wish I could take the money back that was paid for the game and release it to Sony/PD in a "future update in their finances". That could be anytime... like with their update to the game. Now if you can tell us how to accomplish the removal of said parts of the track, without the need of a "Course Creator", or Coffee Breaks (you'd know that if you read on after the post I linked) please do tell us. 👍 Thanks.

Quite right, @bman1984. You can't yet set up cones on the GT Arena. I stand corrected. It's a massive omission, and you should get your money back. I'll get back in my box.
