PD must be doing something awesome.

It's a PlayStation Network scheduled maintenance, announced throughout several online games for tomorrow, Monday it's not just GT6

OK, I see. Thanks. Still there are some notices that the maintenance is still taking place and I believe that the online portion of GT6 is unavailable atm as well - at least it was when I tried. Also, I couldn't access the notifications section either.

Update looks quite bare though, so far.

Update Details:
Drift, Time and Free Runs now available as Open Lobby Room modes.
Racing gear arranged by color.
Multi monitor function added.
Cars can now be search for in the Dealerships more easily.
Adjustable TC and SRF for Racing karts.

I wonder if this qualifies as awesome:lol:

Hmm, alas no track editor, no update on rain windshield effects and various other small bits that add up, pop ups and jaggies on the Matterhorn shadows, no interiors on most cars that people have been asking for, no new major update promised for February, 5 years in development is beginning to feel more like 4 years of promoting the real racing simulator in endurance racing ( oh the irony of said racing type missing from this latest one ) and half a year of cobbling together something that isn't ready by a far margin, could this be another GT prologue, GT HD ? a over-hyped demo for the next iteration ? so far all the "biggest" game releases this year and late last year have been "buggiest" instead - here's to holding my breath until I turn blue and hoping that the money I ( and you ) invested in this franchise isn't wasted on a dud. ( GT5 XL ed. is after all 17 bucks on average, somewhat dated, clunky slow interface, but to those who are getting started the better bargain of the two current gen console entries, and the more complete at that, making GT6 a bit of a tough pill to swallow in it's current state )- a statement from a die hard fanatic, Bad News Bob !

I had high hopes, but low expectations. I can see some of these update features being welcomed by some, but for me, they haven't really added or addressed anything that will improve my experience. A (proper) new car would have been nice, and obviously Zahara would have been awesome.

edit: Just to clarify - aside from the 'big' features, and fixing the camber/tyre issues, it's really a GT4 style data logger I'm waiting for.

Well, this new update is far below my expectations. Over moth of waiting just for few not bad, but also not very important improvements. I hoped to see lighting effects to be improved to GT5 quality, shuffle races, new track!, track creator, racing clubs!... BUT, thank you PD and Sony for showing me that you give a sh... about what your fans want. I think it is last Gran Turismo game i bought. The name itself isn't enough to ensure success of the series. You HAVE TO listen to your fans! In current state, GT6 isn't worth the money i paid for it.

Nothing awesome done!! :(

Amazing update...this will add to me like 4 more minutes of game-play!! (dowloading the update and turning off the game again)

Hell yes!!

What I was hoping for. Oh and triple screen added!!...I´m going to buy two more PS3´s right now and two more screens to play the game.

I find it humorous! They are just as predictable as they say PD is.

They spend alot, a lot, of time posting messages and threads about a game they obviously cant stand. Its gone from annoying to funny now I actually get a kick out of reading them now.

Read through the Update unnoticed thread or whatever it is...quite funny !

There was 0% chance that this update was going to live up to their hype. Thats the way they want to spend their time so be it. PD is doing something awesome they are continually updating the game...

You forgot 2 copies of GT6, because they very well deserve $120 bucks more.

3 months after release they haven't finished the job we all paid a full price for, so I don't know what you are on about.

People dislike the game because it's broken and unfinished.
A game like this is never LITERALLY finished. Never. You can keep on adding stuff, cars or tracks like forever...

Anyway, what we got now is still A LOT of cars and tracks, if you like the game you'll be able to do lots of stuff and race combinations online.

Wrong. Once all the bugs are out and promised features are in, the game can be considered finished. After that it is the developer's choice to add content or not, but as long as they have advertised things that are not in the product yet it is considired and unfinished job. If they features never get added it is considered a scam.

Don't forget your 2 additional copies of GT6 - As someone who had to recover a gaming community, I would have considered this update an insult to the user base.

I'm starting to believe that whomever is managing GT6 should be punted.

There's no scam at all because all the features that are not in the game, were announced as future updates, and people knew what they were getting from the start and what was going to be added in the future.

Yeah you are right, Nixxxon. But what is an acceptable time to wait for them to be implemented?

I probably have every racing game and simulator in the market right now, I play them all and I play time to time some GT as well.

But I want the best for THIS particular game...and I want features that were promised/published a while back. I think that is understandable.

As you said with adding cars and tracks the game won´t change so much...but with those features it will add more stuff to do for some of us who really want to do that stuff.
I put the game mostly to do some hot-laps around the ring and some other circuits and I have fun with that...but there are things (like the sounds) that put me away too.

If they can add the track editor (to name one) to give me more reasons to play the game (not just the driving aspect of it) I will be more than happy.

I won´t play GT for being a pure simulator because it is not...that´s why I own rFactor 2 and other simulators which don´t have half of the features that GT has.
GT is more like a "do it all" racing game...which at the moment is not. If a track editor and the rest of things were not promised some of us won´t be here hoping to see those things in a "future update".

Let us be. ;)

PS: I played the game today for a couple of hours. Happy?

Most of the update falls into one or more of these categories:

1. Should have been there from the beginning.
2. Was already in GT5.
3. Minor and does not affect gameplay much if at all.

Nothing new or extraordinary, certainly nothing that was worth waiting weeks for.

So what is the percentage of games that are released are considered, lets use your word, finished at the time of their release? (Edit) or even 3 months after?

All the games I play, which isnt alot, are continuously updating problems too.

Maybe read what I say?

I don't know, you tell me. What other game was still waiting for key features 3 months after release?

Yes, I know, but it still has a lot of new cars/tracks... Well nevermind... you should just wait for the track creator then? Or if you have so many games you can play the other ones.
