Pd recording our races or a glitch?

Half way through a 50 lap race tonight a message came up on the message board saying replay of race has been recorded anyone got any ideas on this? It's a new one for me and the regular group i race with none of us have seen this happen before, also 3 laps from the end i got a black screen but could see my hud and all track data just not the track
 
It means you ran out of space to continue recording the replay and any replay you save from the race would end at that point.
 
No, just the allocated space within GT6. Replay files have a maximum size and you reached it.

Are you sure you read his post correctly Famine? I don't see where he said he was recording the race but asking if PD was recording it because of the message that came up. That's the way I read it anyway.

The race is automatically "recorded", so that when you go to "Save Replay" you have something to save. He merely reached the maximum length that the recording can be and, had he clicked "Save Replay", his replay file would have finished at that point.
 
The message actually comes up too early. We've found that regardless of whether you see that message or not, you cannot export a replay larger than 100MB. But it can always save all of a replay (caveat anything bigger than we've tried, a 2.4hr enduro). The message is referring to exportability and it's inaccurate.
 
Indeed.

The message should be familiar to anyone who's played GT3 or GT4 too. And possibly GT2, but that was in the 90s and I can't remember anything from the 90s.

The message just popped up half way through a race on the message board and just thought it was rather strange as I've raced lots of very long races and have never seen such a message before, thanks for all the replies guys just started to bug me during the race as to why this message appeared
 
When it comes up can also depend on how many drivers are in the race, so maybe this race had more drivers than you normally have?
 
We always have a full 16 on long races we do and it's never happened before, we have been running endurance races for years as a group on gt5 and 6 and not come across it before tonight

Did you save the replay after the race? I bet it's not the entire race, some tracks will suck up more memory than others.
