I'm sure everyone knows that GT5 does not hold at 60FPS as well as its older siblings, which is disappointing (although easy to get over), but when PD removed Grid starts and positioned grid placements by performance points in order to avoid the AI from getting to clustered (which is very unrealistic considering real races have clusters all the time!) which both will drop the FPS (see license text S-1 for a perfect example), it makes the game less exciting (especially if you don't have a choice).
I understand these decisions made at the time, but they haven't done anything to make it better in over a year. Still can't decide how you want the race to start, how many AI to go up against, what cars to be apart of the race, and you can't adjust the AI's driver options. Incredibly BORING!
I'm tired of the race grid being set by highest PP to lowest (and you're always set last or in the middle), which degrades the chances for actual position battles between you and AI alike. The race always plays out as the race dog trying to catch the speeding rabbit while weaving through the turtles in between.
I got the idea to make this thread from the latest A-Spec online event set in the Nurburgring where the top one or two cars are given an unbelievable lead and have proven very hard to catch up to (for me so far).
What do you guys think about this?
