PD was right not to include the save game backup

Now everyone has several X1/X2010 for trade

Yes I know its just a game but it shows why mankind is so stupid.

Cant the exploiters see that its only going to ruin/make it less enjoyable - the online and offline experience.

And if they (PD) dont include a backup utility for the saved games in a future GT I wouldnt be suprised.
 
There are ways to allow you to backup a game and still not allow people to clone cars. If cloning cars was the reason why they didn't allow backups, they should have used better ways to save your progress from the very beginning.
 
oooh big deal.. so freaking what.. good. that means the price/trade for one will come down (supply and demand).. screw this, its a VIDEO GAME.. only purpose it should have is FUUUUUN damn it.. I have GT5, and i have 4 ferrari's in it (including an enzo), lamborghinis, mercedes-benz's, and well over one million credits.. and i can honestly say, so far, i did not enjoy this game at all. hopefully these updates will make it enjoyable (by giving me all the freaking cars)

thats fine by me, cuz i sure as hell wont be buying a future GT series game.. GT5 will probably make me switch to an XBOX in the future. only reason i always bought a ps1, ps2, ps3 was cuz of gt..

They then gift their car to a fake or second account.

Then they restore the previous data of the old account, which still has the X1.

Then they gift the X1 from the fake account back to their main account? Leaving them with 2 X1s?
 
As far as I am aware the "trading" was done by people online, if trading was to be a proper part of the game then you would have been able to "Gift" (Not trade) more than 1 car per day.
 
I'll gift you a bucket to catch the tears, but it'll be a bucket gained through exploit with the permission of Satan himself.

This is expected.

This game to a lot of people was NEVER about driving but ALWAYS about who have the fastest car to see who can crash into the first corner first.

Its ment to be an achievement to work your way through a game and collect the rewards by earning them and separating yourself from others with your impressive garage....

Now it means nothing.

If this doesnt get sorted i can see myself never putting any time into any gran turismo game ever again since you dont have to, since cheating is openly accepted.
 
Seriously?

If people want to use exploits, then let them. The ability to make sure I don't lose weeks/months/years(?) of progress should the PS3 decide to die is more important to me than some people ruining the game for themselves.
 
Yes great its only a game I know and its no crime for shure... too bad that some do it in real live too - always looking for a way to exploit something that was meant to make things better and easier on others.

Whats wrong with that??? Im not going to explain it if you dont understand it by now you probably never will.

Ill just enjoy the game the way I feel is the most enjoyable one, hope PD keep on delivering improvements and get on with my own business without interfering with yours

If only PD made private lobbys I wouldnt have to deal with the ****rs that ruin the online with their birthday cars or their cloned X1s

How does this effect your way of playing? I don´t care how many X1 you have. I play legit and have years of fun and the cheaters will disappear quick...

Because you fail are earning it. Go buy it then looser. It's the only way some in life can really make.

Anyway, Online gaming is all crap anyway. Every single game out there has cheaters, glitchers, hackers, boosters. Just the way it is.

I can't believe you have so much trouble with people playing the game the way that they want to. Did you buy their copy as well?


I can't understand the outrage, myself. Sure, they used a loophole to get a car that they shouldn't have gotten until later. So what? It is still the same car. Theirs isn't any better or worse than yours.
Less legitimate, perhaps, but I have to imagine that the marketplace (which doesn't really "exist," mind you, as it clearly wasn't intended to occur by PD) would sort itself out without any outside help exactly like it did when people started running around trying to trade Lamborghini Miuras and Ferrari P4s for everything. We aren't going to have a situation where people are trading X1s for Miatas because they have dropped so much in value that they are worthless.

And compared to not being able to back up your save in any way whatsoever? No contest at all.
 
People, always so concerned over how exploits will affect their fake car economy. Get over yourselves. It's a video game, meant for people to have fun. Lots of us don't have hundreds of hours to play a game to unlock cars...and for many people that type of grinding != fun.
Christ, the amount you people whine about other peoples gaming habits is unreal. As if it affected the way you game in any tangible way other than getting your panties in a knot.

You have ruined it for everyone as you all have a billion worth of cars in your garages if i save any money in the game at all im really not gonna be looking forward to spending any sort of cash on a car you all got by cheating.

Yep, not much point trading now. Exploiters never care about anyone, they think they're ok to play how they want because they paid for the game too, oblivious to the fact that they just mess it up for everyone else who also paid for the game... Hypocrites, basically.

It happens in all good online games, like Call of Duty, so I just avoid playing online unless it's with friends and I won't be trading any more, though I doubt anyone will miss the 'less important' cars I trade, as long as they can swap an XJ13 for an X1, then duplicate that to get whatever else they want...

Who cares how someone wanted me to play? I'll play the way it's fun for me. They wanted me to grind a race 300 times to obtain one car? I have better things to do.

How is me having a fake car in my fake garage affecting your gameplay? Is it causing your cars to spontaneously lose hp or explode at every corner?
In regards to maturity, perhaps look at how you handle a situation that has zero actual impact on your life and then talk.

I guess it takes all sorts but I don't understand why people are so upset at this either, and you are always gonna get idiots online, the key is make a friends-only lobby, or look for one that looks respectable where they will have entry requirements etc.

This cloning thing will in time devalue cars like the X1 and stop people trying to trade them or even sell them on eBay at exortionate prices, leaving the real traders to swap like for like or whatever.

I wonder if people are genuinely upset because they worked hard for a car that someone else got via a backdoor, but really so what? Set your own rules. It's no different to cheat codes that have been used in video games pretty much since they started. If you don't wanna use them, then don't. You get what you want out of the game, and so do they (though in my personal opinion considerably less!)

On the flip side of the coin, other people in GTP cry that they can't easily unlock certain cars or find them used, but then use the argument that they paid for these cars and should be able to use them. This seems the most ludicrous argument of all to me, it's like someone sueing Sega because they paid for Sonic to be able to fight Robotnik, but don't have the skill or the patience to get that far.

I know different strokes for different folks and all that, but whilst I think GT5 still has many flaws, this really is a pretty nice update, with more to come, and the advantage of being able to back up your saves by far outweighs the disadvantages
 
what will end up happening is all the good cars will be cloned so many times that you can no longer get decent money for them and people will stop selling them.
 
I think the better exploit would be to find out which car of yours gains the most from selling it, then duplicate that car and get the money directly. Then you can buy whatever you want...
