I have a Buick speccial for a long time and wanted to use out for one of the seasonal events. But I wanted to do an oil change so went to gtauto but when I went to the oil change option it showed this 813-853bhp 570pp-557pp. But shouldn't the pp increase?

No, because the PP system doesn't always follow that more bhp = more PP

With this car, too much bhp = less PP

So add ballast = increase PP

The vertigo got the same , you put the big turbo on it an the pp drops , i think cause it is way to light for 970+ hp

but the toyota 7 with turbo is still faster around the track and in a straight line. if it runs faster, then the pp should be higher. in my mind at least.

It's an algorithm the game uses. It's not perfect.

The caterham gets too much pp.

Whatever's on the edges of the hp/weight spectrum is a little wacky.

The Toyota 7 with a Stage 3 turbo has an incredibly bad power curve, which is why the performance points drop.

Yes, the power curve is probably narrowing, which means less power output through the rev range of each gear (this depends on gearing though). Why don't you check the car's powerband before and after.

Also, note that less PP does not mean less performance in a specific application. PP is only a general rating.

There is no such thing as too light, it's probably powerband again.

The Toyota 7, Veritgo, Cobra and a few other cars I can't think of at the moment are very close to having more power than is wise as stock. Tune the engine up and they are a real handful, rather like the old Turbo era F1 cars could be under qualifying boost.

It makes sense, to me at least, that the harder it is to drive fast, the lower the pp, and also makes sense that some people can manage that extra power while many others cannot.

I love driving my fully tuned Cobra, (With supercharger!) but it's a real handful on a twisting track and I spend a lot of time fighting to keep on the black bits with part or no throttle on, lots of steering input and sweat!
