perhaps GT6 is falling behind.

These threads are getting more and more ridiculous. We can tell that PD's obviously working hard on the new content we were promised for 6, it's just taking a bit longer to finish than they thought. It doesn't mean that GT6 has been completely abandoned by PD. Yes they can make the waiting a bit more forgivable if they told us what was going on, and they should fix that, but just because they don't have a PR guy to tell us these things doesn't mean they aren't doing anything at all.

It's pretty incredible how so many people can take something as cool as GT6 and bring it down to such a mundane level of screaming and whining just because some content's late or the E30 BMW M3's not in the game. Whatever, M3's are for chumps anyway.

And to all of the guys saying "We're sick of waiting," speak for yourself. I'm a patient guy and I'm always looking forward to seeing what PD's gonna cook up next for us.

..and how many of those 800 are desirable by me to drive? Less than 200. I bring you back to a previous point I made.

Like I've said before, for some people a car and a track is enough to have years of fun. For other people, they require more. It seems you fail to understand or accept that the second group exists.

A lot of those cars have been in GT games since GT4. Just driving them again and again, even with better physics, is not that fun for most people. I didn't really want to drive the 90hp econoboxes in GT4, I certainly have little desire to do it again in GT6. Brand new cars are for more interesting and I've been through most of those that I find desirable.
 
All I can add is that when I saw the Forza update with Long Beach, and I saw all the cool cars that they used for the photos (not sure if they were new cars or not), I was definitely jealous.

It's curious that he went silent in January. That was the last time he spoke to the press in any way, the last time he tweeted. Ever since then he's as good as fallen off the edge of the planet, saying absolutely nothing about his game anywhere. No tweets, no interviews, no press.
 
Natural to compare. If Forza had best physics/sound/feel/networkcode it would be strange not to go over to Forza if you are serious fan of driving as real as possible with almost same money you need to spend on hardware.
This is where they can compare each other and compete.
Best would be to scrap the exlusiveness and release Forza and GT on both consoles so the competition gets really good.
Anyway, if PD do release GT7 soon all will be excused. If they delay it because GT6 needs fixing they loose even more. So my guess (hope) is they let GT6 fall so the series get to survive the future.
After that they can still support GT6 if many still play it.

I blame the game for giving me no desire to drive the cars or do anything with them. If the game had good AI and a good career mode I might drive them more. If they gave me an event creator I might drive them more. If they gave me more options for online racing I might drive them more.

He's the producer/director though. He isn't the one doing all the programming. I'm pretty sure if he wanted to he could spare a few minutes of one day to tweet or otherwise engage with the outside world.

Uh, no. First of all I don't know where you get "all will be excused" if GT7 releases soon and that isn't good business strategy at all.

How can you tell? HOw is it obvious? What evidence do you base that on exactly, the missed deadlines?

So are many of others, its less the time taken but rather the missed deadlines and the lack of communication.

Cars disappear from the stock yard or haven't you heard. It should be renamed the scrap yard.

And GT7 is irrelevant. I paid for GT6 not GT7.

You also seem to be under some kind of impression that you have to either own a GT title or only ever fawn praise on GT titles to post here, you don't. Its a point that I have made in many threads and quite frankly that's not how GT Planet has ever operated or will ever operate.

You did after all say "If you want GT to become Forza so badly, go get Forza!" and turned (along with Nixxon) just about any valid criticism of GT into "go play Forza then".

We dont know the strategy but that would be mine now.
Since GT6 buyers are already angry better to say sorry and release something new. I even think this forum will start a GT7 section and we will have lots of fun hoping what GT7 will give us and forget GT6 as a rushed misstake (or planned "misstake", PD and Sony may very well had seen this coming and knew what would happen)

I want to know how people wanting GT to become an exact copy of Forza is a valid criticism of the game.

So you think if the disgruntled GT6 buyers were told sorry, we're not updating the game you paid for and instead releasing a new game with new promises they'll all be flocking to buy it? I doubt it. First rule of business it to keep your customers happy.

The first page was filled with a "GT needs this to compete with Forza" war. It's important that they stay two, independent, unrelated games - because then you get a good competition between the two. If someone wants certain aspects of one game to transfer to another, great - they can learn from each other. But when they are compared as almost identical entities, with GT being a huge failure because it lacks certain features of Forza, that's when something is amiss.
 
GT needing x feature is not the same as wanting it to be exactly the same though. When Forza started there were a lot of things they needed from GT and did indeed borrow a lot of ideas, it stilll came out as a different game and evolved in different ways, as we know.

Yeah, Forza has some cars/tracks/features GT could use and vise versa. That doesn't mean they'd become one in the same.

Apparently to some GT fans, if you mention GT and Forza in the same post and dare to suggest that GT could learn something from the Forza series, that means you are claiming that GT is a horrible game and must copy Forza completely to survive. Interesting way of thinking...:lol:.
