Yep i think we can only talk about the "old way" of doing permanent borrow trades. Which remember is a glitch not a hack like the program that is used to speed up the process.
 
I have 1 problem, i downloaded the patch(the first one) and when i get to GT MODE i cant move the cursor! And that means i cant change to different car! What can i do :(

Step by Step For First Timers
1. Change your wallpaper and bottom color to the first ones, at the top and left.
2. Change into shared car, save game and exit.
3. Delete GAME data (its not frozen it takes 5 or so minutes)
4. Load GT5, download and install update 1 (608MB) Cancel when you see 2/20.
5. Reload GT5, skip updates, change to car from garage (no gt acadamy cars or dlc)
6. Save and exit, reload and install all updates.
7. Done

Any questions, please read back a couple pages before you post. The same questions are being answered over and over again lol

This is mother of all guides, you didnt change your wallpaper and thats why you cant move your cursor. BTW why you dont use the app, it take less than minute to permaborrow cars.

You don't have to go to GT mode just go to save on the end right side.
 
I'm having trouble. Can someone help? Here is what I did

1. Borrows car from friend
2. Saves game auto and manually
3. Of course back up file to usb just in case
4. Delete data utility
5. Loads up gt5
6. Click yes to update and installs first patch then cancel
7. Reloads gt5 skips downloads and goes to gt mode and I still see the car in red letters
 
Can see this thread getting locked or many posts deleted, there's too many poists getting too close to instructions/requests for the hacking process.

Not going to work with XL edition. (Since it's 2.00+ i believe)

Anyways, you dont even have to change your car to different, just go to GT MODE and backout. Then install patches and the car is yours. :)

Aww this sucks. Should I get a regular gt disc?
 
Can anyone help? i borrowed a car, saved,then saved to memory stick,deleted game data, disconnected from internet,installed the game, then when i started it up the car i borrowed was still there in red with a key on it, so i changed car, connected to the internet, did all the updates and the borrowed car is gone?
Any help appreciated.

You need to use an original disk version of the game.

Permanent borrow is not the same thing as hybriding. This was around way before hybriding was popular.
 
People should stop using the permanent borrow and switch to the borrow app .... so much better, faster and easier.

He just said it was! It is, read through the thread. You need the original disc for this method. It takes the game back before 1.05 updates. The only way to do this is with the original disc.

Or through ways not discussed here on Gtplanet. Which I an not going to do, it is against the AUP!
