so is there a way to play your ps3 music library only? I keep selecting it, but it still plays the damn game music during races and replays.

I had it working a couple days ago. anyone else having problems?

In addition to selecting the music you want to play, you have to check the box to tell it to use the custom music instead of the game music. Also there's a separate setting for race, menu, and replay... if it's still playing game music in races and replays perhaps you only have it enabled for menus?

For some reason, the game randomly mixes your music with the in-game music. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but it's stupid and it needs to get patched. Some people say you can go to "Gallery" and try deleteing the in-game songs that are set to play, but that never worked for me. If you do that, you just get silence instead of your own music playing. But you can try giving that a shot anyway.

Is this a common thing? I've never had it happen and I've got like 30+ hours in the game all using a custom BGM.

Yeah. Like I said, it seems random. When I go to free run from the Garage, it normally plays my music, but when I do races in career mode, it tends to play the in-game music, then mine after a while. Strange how it just picks what it wants to play for no reason. I never had any issues using custom music in GT5, so I don't know what got screwed up in this game.

I just had the same issue and found your post whilst googling, figured it worth mentioning that whilst it didn't work for you it just worked for me. So it does seem to work.

Either way it's an obscure issue that obviously needs to be patched.
