Yes they should give demo to people who pre-ordered and/or bought prologue. The demos already exist so they won't "waste" any time for the developers.

You can't set an official date and delay 3 weeks b4 launch...they have to give compensations to all those who invested their time/money in this game!

Plus, Kaz always said that it was sony's decision when to launch, and clearly sony sees more profits in launching during xmas as it would sell more GT5 bundles.

Obviously they don't care about us hardcore fans because we're like slaves, we'll buy the damned thing no matter what.

I would really not mind a demo right now. All the BS about the date being final and ... GAH!

Tell that to Little Big Planet. They did it. And it was because of a song...

They should really give everyone a demo on PSN so people don't get angry and decide to not buy the game. I think thats the least they can do.
I really think you should make a poll and get everyone to sign it. I will sign it for sure!

Kaz won't put out a demo because it seems like they are all imperfect. He wants us to experience the final thing.

I'm happy for a mod to place a poll in here but I don't want to have two threads going.

Or at least, be responsible for two threads :sly:

But yet it's placed in stores, taken to Game conferences like E3, TGS, GC for the media and everybody to see.

I say update prologue with atleast the TT physics add Indy & Tokyo 246

Technically GT5P doesnt even count as a demo given the game has been radically changed in the last 3 years. I would bet that MW2 is closer to MW1 than GT5P is to GT5.

While I wouldn't mind a demo, I'm not sure this thread and hundreds like it across the net will result in anything. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a demo, and I don't think it spoils anything. I fully expect that a demo will actually make GT5 seem even better, because of the refinement which the demo will lack. However, I don't think Kaz will enjoy all the nitpicking which will happen if he did give us a demo to vivisect. I guess we'll see. If there is more than a few weeks delay, we may well get one.

And I have to heartily endorse this post as an ideal demo, because I've been wanting this for a year now:

No the TT physics was horrible.

A demo that is already out in stores wouldn't slow them down, they just need to put it on psn. It wouldn't hurt to make it available. Prologue is prologue and not the gt5 demo.

if it weren't for the time limit, the GT5 demo at best buy is better IMO lol

A demo is understood to be an incomplete product ... OR a DEMOnstration of what the final product will offer you.

SO, if a demo was to be released, everyone would (or should) have the understanding that there may be bugs/glitches. This everyone includes KY.

SO, we know there already are demo builds out there.

SO, in order to appease certain fans, they probably should release a demo.

I MYSELF wouldn't download such demo because I just want to wait for the real deal.

BUT, if someone wants to, that should be their choice.

CHOICE being the key-word. Some of you guys come here and tell others how they should think.

Think for yourself and let others do their own thinking.

In simple words I will say that this thread is useless, there wont be any GT5 demo,we have prologue and TT,stop whining and wait another 15 days,BTW thread reported.

guy, the TT demo expired so we don't have it anymore. that's why we need another demo. if they put out a demo not only will they make up for this rediculous delay but they will also gain new fans, why? because if they do, I would tell every single one of my friends on PSN to try it out and I'll pester them to actually follow through. There's no way at least 20% of all our friends that haven't tried GT or GT5, will end up loving it and buying the game. They made not need the demo to standalone and get more sales, but the people that have already preordered will absolutely tell all their friends and there's only positives that can come from that. I tried the GT5 demo at best buy, maybe if they just took out damage (because it's nearly non existant) and the glitch at nurburgring, it would be perfectly suitable and beyond fun for GT fans. We've all been looking forward to 11/2 so it's the least thing they can do and the best idea

By the way, to anyone saying it would take time, the E3, TGS and BestBuy demo are all signed and playable on any retail console, it's a matter of putting it on PSN, just like the God of War 3 E3 demo, it takes less than an hour, way less.

yeah, but what the hell does that have to do with my argument? or with the fact that if you didn't want a demo, and it was released anyway, you HAD THE OPTION to NOT download it.

or is that too much choice for some people to handle?

"If it's there, I want it."

"If it's not there, I don't want."

There are other options, you know?

almost all demos have a disclaimer before the game even starts up "this is a demonstration and does not represent the final product". even the best buy demo which is flawed in a couple ways would win a ton of fans over because what it does right completely outweighs it's tiny problems. I think it woulld make all us fans that are angry right now totally happy and we all would tell our friends and spread the GT additcion. There's no way it wouldn't work for the better for sony

You're looking at it solely from the consumers perspective, not the developers, which is why I posted the third option. Nowhere does it ever state that a developer has to release a demo. It's completely optional and their choice. If they do decide to release one, now the decision is yours as to whether you download it or not. If, however, they choose not to, then move along. This so-called "petition" will accomplish nothing.

Signed

But not to be pessimistic, I don't really think that this ''petition'' will change something. We are being kept in the dark for months and you expect them to release a demo ?

if they want to keep the loyalty and respect of their fanbase to the point it is now for GT6 or GT7, they need to do something. If they do nothing, no demo, no good explanation, then when the next games come out, less and less fans will be loyal enough to wait 5 years and still be this excited. they need to respect that none of us are happy with this and especially 3 weeks away, it's totally expected to make people angry. They may not owe it to us but a demo is the least they can do and the smartest thing they can do and not just for us hardcore fans that stay loyal just to get crapped on. not to mention it would take no time at all because there are already a ton of demos floating around. I hope it's the best buy demo

true. that makes me worry. a demo makes sense but like you said, they've been keeping us in the dark about this and it shows a lack of consideration that makes me wonder if they care enough about new fans and loyal fans to put out a demo. i think we absolutely deserve and new fans need it. I hope there's a way to make a real petition because I will sign it over and over again

hmm ... firstly, my apologies ... i just re-read my reply to you and it sounded rude, and not as i intended.

you're right, they don't HAVE to release a demo .. but, if this petition gathers enough steam and makes them re-think their CHOICE, it is a worthy effort for those wanting a demo. for those of us that don't care for it, it still won't hurt us. i'd rather go pro-choice on this one.

That's the problem with text - it doesn't contain tone. Which is why I always consider posts using Verdana to be sarcastic and not intended to be malicious until proven so.

No apology required.

I think releasing a demo at this point would be a very bad move by Sony/GT5. I am still on the boat thinking this is some sort of marketing decision to boost sales by maneuvering around other releases and selling it during a time when parents are out looking for presents for Christmas.

As usual, I am most likely going to be wrong, but worth a shot in the dark. I will be waiting contently until release :D. If they do release a demo I will be skipping it and wait until full release so my internal hype meter stays high.
