I'm sure that someone in Sony is keeping track of all the community sites. Most game companies now have the equivalent of community managers. Their primary responsibility is to keep an eye on their own forums, but particularly in this case, CMs I know spend a lot of their time figuring out what the general community is saying about the product. It's probably some poor Sony marketing intern, though, rather than anyone who actually has control over the PD development cycle, as many dev teams I know are reluctant to give up much creative control. Considering that they sit around and think/code the games we talk about, they also usually already have had most of the ideas that get mentioned. However, community sites like this probably offer them some good thoughts about what to prioritize.

Even if it's providing little impact on the actual development of GT, I wouldn't be surprised if a number of people from the dev team (english speaking ones, of course) lurked around the forum fairly often. They probably read all the stuff here, have a good laugh, and then flog a new Skyline on laps aroung the Ring. :ouch:

Curse their oily hides!

I mean hi there. Make me a beta tester.

👍 @ everything you said.

So where's this petition at eh? Did anyone even maintain a list of the names who said 'yay' in this thread?

...You know, if you look at a low quality image, see a few black and yellow blobs on the edge of screen and think Ferrari logo, you might be an addict...
might be?:sly: i can admit it... definitely

WTF did you drag an old ass thread back to life for... you just stated something that is obviously false... how annoying. Mods should just delete this thread anyway.

well i would love to see high end exotics like ferrari, lambo and such...it wouwl dmake teh game better and add anothe rnotch of cars to the ever long list already...anyways, skylines are cool but still i mena there are more skylines than basically all teh other japan cars in teh dealerships...tahts just to many

in gt5 if tehy keep used cars that would be awesome, they need to only have a few versions of each car...like maybe teh regular skyline, teh rare midnight purple, and then u can have th enismo skyline and whatnot

maybe this has been answered b4...can someone please tell me how sega and microsoft can get exotics in their games and sony cant...ferrari 355 challenge....sega had test drive lemans...which was an excellent game....had race preped 911's.....x-box had project gotham racing....ferraris and porsches.....now forza coming with ferraris....enthusa is going with bmw m1....what gives ? i would give away a good 50 cars in gt4...to have 2 ferraris in the game

It's because Sony hates you.
Oh and the BMW M1 is cool if you ask me.
Bless B Spec mode, means I actually get to skip boring races and get cash anyway :D I WINS!

because GT4 is too realistic and ferrari dun want people to know how their car really drive compare to other cars..... it mite end up driving like the Cizeta and i seriously doubt Ferrari would like that...
they dun even let magazine ppl test drive the Enzo....

While I agree it would be cool to have Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. represented in a GT game, I don't think (or expect) it to happen anytime soon.

Threads like this just annoy me, because there have been countless threads on topics just like this since the original GT came out, and guess what... hasn't happened yet. And it's not that EA holds an exclusive licence... or that Ferrari/Lamborghini doesn't want their cars to get smoked by a super modded Supra or Civic or whatever... its money. Whoever gives them the most of it is going to get the licence, plain and simple. PD themselves don't (although Sony does) have the money to compete with the likes of Microsoft/EA/Sega(<-- not anymore anyway, but when they were making 355 Challenge, TD LeMans...) in the financial arena

Woodstock, you obviously don't read R&T. One of the 1st mags to test the Enzo.

BTW, let this thread die. Thanks.
Or better yet...call a mod.

R&T the guys didn't really drive the car themselves... they just sat in the car....
one magazine got a hold of a owner who's willing to let them test the Enzo... i heard (not confirmed) the owner kinda got in trouble for that....

Personally, I'd rather see Lambo...or even Lada for that matter. I used to be a huge fan of the cars and the F1 team in the 80's and early 90's. To me they represent all that is wrong in motorsport, or F1 specificly, these days.

live's on the ball here yet again... here's what's gotta happen to see the Italian beauties in GT:
1) EA's exclusive license expires (november 04 apparently is the date)
2) Ferrari doesn't renew the EA license on an exclusive basis
3) Ferrari wants to be in GT (which they have stated publically)
4) Ferrari and PD can come to terms on a license (everyone keeps saying Sony... the license deal will be with PD, yayaya PD is technically owned by SCE, but it is a seperate company that produces the games and that's who has to get the licenses)

Lastly i don't get all this "EA doesn't like or want to deal with Sony" stuff either... EA actually has done more things preferentially and exclusively for Sony and PS2 than other platforms. If you mean/say EA doesn't want to cooperate with PD... correct... don't give a competitor in game development access to your exclusive licenses, but why would you as a software company want to alienate the largest hardware manufacturer and distribution mechanism for your product.

Yeah I dont really get that myself....from what I hear EA and Sony are great pals, and more often than not EA locks deals with sony before other systems.

Anyway I would like more details on this license thing.....when did it start, how many times did EA renew it, etc. Cause I have to say bad move on Ferrari's part if they locked a deal with EA even before GT1. Another thing that is odd is that I have seen Ferrari's in so many games its insane. Games I might add that are in direct competition to NFS style games. It wouldnt make any sense for EA to sub-license Ferrari at all....EA is about having control over the market. No amount of money would be worth it for them to lose this control. Not to mention GT is practically a different genre compared to NFS, so why would they single GT out?. Not putting it past it EA, just saying I dont know if I buy everything I read on the internet. Not to mention the fact, its in EA's best interest to work with Sony, not against. They sell more content through playstation than all the other platforms combined.

Guess what I mean is....at the end of the day, how many more copies would they sell of GT if it had ferrari's in it? If its true that EA is being harda55 about the license, they have more to lose then gain. I dont think they are that stupid. I also tend to think that there is a lot more going on, and this is all speculation.

on a side note...what about lambo? porche? etc are they locked by EA as well?
JW cause if they are not....it makes this whole thing even more odd to me.

somehow I don't think Sony could give two ****s about whether or not GT has Ferrari in it or not... they know you are still going to buy it. :) Once again, it doesn't matter who's got the licence, who's nice to who, who wants to work with/against who... it all boils down to money. And EA obviously gave Ferrari more than PD was going to give them. That's the way it is, too bad... I don't really care, I'm having too much fun blasting the RUF RGT (close enough, eh?) around the Ring in GT4.

Its really simple to say "It all boils down to money". But the truth of the matter is "who is being nice to who" and "who work with/against who" all have to do with money in the end (much more I would say then having a Ferrari license itself). Do you really think that EA would stand to make more money if it hurt its relationship with Sony ? Of course not. Its all related. Guess my point is, I dont know if I buy into all whats being said about the EA/Farrari/license thing. I think there is a lot more to it and we may never know the full story.

And yes I agree...I never really cared that Ferrari was not in GT4. In a way its almost generic to put those types of cars in driving games, and in a weird way may even take from the experience. But hey that could just be me.

The owners don't get in trouble for it. I've met and spoken with two of them from NY. Nick Mason's was tested by Top Gear for example. There have been other mags where the car was driven by the writers, not only the owners. They were very strict with the F50, but not near as much with the Enzo.

I don't think I buy into that "licence" story much myself... but I don't really care. I'm happy with what I got, and I'm not going to get pissy just because there is no Ferrari in GT4... who gives a ****.

I'm a huge Ferrari fan and I don't mind. I would love for them and a few other sportscar/supercar maker to be in what comes next. I also rather classics than the newer stuff.

it would be sweet to race an enzo ferrari in the game

What a waste of time. Do you seriously think Ferrari DONT want their cars in the BIGGEST selling car game of ALL TIME?

If they could get out of their license with EA Games then I am sure they would, but they can't, so no petition is going to change that.

Besides, Ferrari's were pictured in the PAL GTP release, so its not as though its a definate no to Ferraris. Just wait for the actual game.

why can EA games have stupid skylines with stickers and neon on there games and gt has skylines why does nissan give there permission to ea games and pd scea thats stupid give us ferraris and nissans and can i get a big need for speed sux!!!!!!!!

Just some trivia there is a car that is partly a Ferrari in GT4. So lets see who knows their auto history which car is it and which part was lifted from Ferrari?

Well I guess we can petition for both , the only problem is that the game is already out. 👎
