Everyone says Peugeot 908 will dominate, but I am having some difficult with it on the long straights. Do you guys installed a turbox3?
I guess using hard race tyres isn't helping... But won't soft tyres be wasted after 1/2laps?
I know in the early version of the game, tyre wear was exactly the same for Racing Soft and Racing Hard tyres.
I haven't compared tyre wear for a while, so maybe it's changed in one of the recent patches.
cally-daveI ran my 908 in the 24hr race with just 700bhp - with a low/mid turbo cant remember which though.... for your gearbox, set it to about 230mph. I had a great race all in, and won by just 2 laps, which is exactly as I wanted![]()
So you are telling me that the tire wear is almost the same in all the tires in GT5?
kj_milYou don't need to have the fastest top speed, just able to lap 3.30-3.40 in the dry, and 4.00-4.08 in the wet, faster if you can't manage 10+ lap stints.
Have you tried adjusting the transmission for a faster top speed? If you've got it all the way to the right, you might want to come back slightly to optimise for the track.
Most LMPs have the potential to dominate this race, it's perfectly possible to win in a road-car such as the Maclaren, the Viper or the GTR. Have a test run and try out variations on tyres and power before starting the race.
Do you remember your lap times?
My 2 cents:
Put a low range turbo on it, it only lifts peak HP by a little. But look at the torque curve, a massive lump of curve in the low RPM.
Then set your transmission very long ( using final drive ratio ) I've found that with the low range turbo the best shift up point is at 5,000 rpm. It feels wrong at first, but you drive the car in the low RPM, you're still shifting at the same rate etc, by that I mean you're still running through the same gears, just in a lower RPM range.
Try it, the car rumbles like a beast and very fast!!!
