My suggestion would be to make it impossible in GT5 to put "comfort" or "sports" tyres on race cars.

That would get rid of all ridiculously tuned down race cars in all competitions designed for road cars immediately.

Great idea +1

Lots of good ideas, I'm all for removing that engine restrictor completely. Or maybe have a restrictor plate upgrade so its at 90% power when its on and 100% power when its off. But no setting to any specific hp you want. Theres 1000 cars to choose from and each one has its own track and conditions where it excels. You don't need to be able to tune each car that much, and it takes away from the game imo, using the one for everything. Save it for Bspec.

I think the term everyone is looking for is "against the spirit of the game". Where it is legal to do so, but a easy scapegoat for the challenge. There is one way they can stop this altogether

It goes along the lines of...

But what is stopping me from going into practise or online lobby, detuning it to 345hp and re-entering the event?

The way is to reset the power to factory settings when entering the event, and then blocking the limiter/ballast altogether without resorting to 'same car' restrictions, it will then force people to enter with cars on or less hp and tune to the limit... just a thought :indiff:

You just somed up the entire glitching is cheating argument right there.

I know what you mean Termisil...Ive seen plenty of TTs after the limiter and ballast where Im sure PD designed the TT for one specific kind of car in mind and guys used a whole nother 5 classes up kind of car instead. lol

They...no actually WE used the same car the 908 and the Bently at Nurburgring power limited to the max, but after the event I purchased my first DTM car and I would bet anything thats the car PD probably had in mind to fit the regulations...I dont know tho.

I kinda sometimes feel they dont really care to much about the seasonal TTs since they have always allowed wall crashing to gain time. Im no genius and I dont ever do it but I can find them fast all the places possible to crash to gain time. Why cant they figure it out before a TT? They could and they know all about it, they have their reasons for allowing some of it to occur, or else they are so dumb and clueless...I dont which.

I think they are fairly clueless, there are many examples of it. PD are vastly out of touch with the serious gamers, always have been.

I can remember prologue where at first all online racing involved boost because PD thought they nobody was interested in racing competitively, only for fun (competition for many IS fun). A guy from the community actually actually had to ask Kaz in person before they trialed turning boost off and letting everyone race on merit without artificially boosting the pace of drivers falling behind.

They are indeed quite clueless.

SInce one of the initial updates tires are not part of PP calculation (as they were in Prologue for instance).

I would also like to add how I think that IMO it is the right decision because tires should be either locked or left to be chosen by constraints of particular challenge.

On the another note, I would also like to see that Engine Limiter is imposed by further restriction in possible percentage of actual limit, from current 50% to more suitable 15%. It would allow to compensate for non-removable tunes made on the engine (port polishing, engine displacement) and in the same time avoid current trend of gaining advantage through torque-curves.

If it wasn't that car dominating, it'd just be another one.
That's how these things work, there's always one or two dominant cars. Can't be helped.

I used a stock Mazda RX7 Amemiya race car with about 320hp and nailed that RR time trial on the second lap. I had the silver on the first by missing the gold time by less than half a second.
LMP cars detuned is overkill. Besides, watch the lap of the guy who is on top - all the corner are cut quite a bit and he uses the paved sides along the track quite a bit.

To me its just another reason why we need the TT leaderboards the same as they were on on GT5p. Even if its only for the Premium cars, (no RR Rufs would be sad) but at least it would be a genuine competition.

Then each week you could run a separate one like they did with GT5p where you can select your chosen car.
