Well I wouldn't say all of them, but I'd say the PGR2 plasticy curse is still unfortunately present (noticable on the Skylines headlights too) and to me it ruins the overall realism of the graphics. Although I'm sure the graphics will look fantastic running.

I think GT5 will probably show how realistic a next gen racer really can look, although I doubt anyone would be suprised about that!

Yeah, and most of the wheel animations look as ****ty as GT 3's.

Oh well.. Test Drive: Unlimited is 100 times better.
I don't think so, wait 'til you play the games.

I heard in the Xbox 360 hardware review vid, that it is Heavy. I bet if its got a good weight, you could also use it as a weight for weight training lol.

no he's got a point. I'm gonna sorely miss the classics and american muscle classes. as well as the roadsters.

I already miss the 340R.

Edit: IGN's 8.8 seems more realistic and it goes more into detail.

Wait for what?

Having seen pretty much every available video, screenshot, and soundbite for both games, my comment was an educated one.

In Test Drive you are not confined to a track. You are free to roam over 1,000 miles of roads, with landscapes that are intricately detailed after one of the most stunning places on earth, Oahu Hawaii.

Customization plays a huge role in not only the real life automotive industry, but also in the game industry. In Test Drive you have the ability to customize the performance and the aesthetics. There will be absolutely NO NFS bull****. All of the parts in-game are licensed from real aftermarket parts providers.

Graphics usually come down to personal preference. The cars in PGR 3 look like plastic, agree or disagree, it's a known problem and has been since PGR 1.

Being a car guy, sound is a crucial part of an automotive game. One of the biggest factors in Forza being such a success, was that it was the first automotive game on a console to have realistic sounding vehicles. If you are a car guy and know your ****, you will be able to instantly tell that TD's cars have a more realistic exhaust note, especially on cars that have a unique sound. Actually, even the tire noise sounds better.

If that's not enough, a new vehicle will be available for download each month. IIRC up to 50 additional vehicles will be added to the game, bringing the total to 150.

I said it before and here it is again - I'm going to buy PGR 3 on launch day, but I will be thinking about Test Drive Unlimited. :)

w00t! Let's all claim which games are best before we've played any of them! :sly:

BTW, of course the headlights look plasticky. WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY'RE MADE OUT OF?!?

Good god the xPos is huge... well so was the old one. As for the TD game it's out already? is there a PC version? (even though I doubt it)

Hey, drfister rears is head in the PS3 section all the time despite is open opinion on never getting one. It all in fairness :).

But the PS3 may be just as large and it will consume more power meaning a power supply possibly bigger than xbox360's monster power supply.

The power supply isn't monster. It being outside of the box is what makes it look big.

Imagine if your computers power supply was attached to the cable, and sat outside of the case. Sure it would look funny/ugly, but the case would have a lot more room. :)

Emad already played the full version of PGR3. Only press could at X'05. Go to bytesector.com to check the review out.

So you have seen it?

Been looking at the reviews. Suffice to say it received a 10/10. Thing is these are first generation next-gen games. What will they be 2 years from now, 15/10?
Personally the scores are fairly irrelevant. PGR3 is one of the few 360 games worth getting on release.
IGN's review looked good. 8.8 seems fair. Giving a game high marks for graphics seems a bit disengeneous to me.

From Joystiq.com -
Whether or not PGR3 runs natively at 720p, it hasn’t stopped many from labeling it as the most visually impressive game in the Xbox 360’s launch window. When it comes down to it, what’s more important? A high-definition resolution, proper antialiasing, or a solid 30 fps? And, more importantly, what would it say for Microsoft’s HD Era if the best-looking launch title on the Xbox 360 wasn’t even truly high-def?

I would expect both. However I appreciate that this is a first generation 360 game and therefore not reflective of its full potential. As said games will look even better! It is, however, a slight disappointment.
Still, it looks good and I'd have it if I were getting a 360 at launch...probably!

I'm not sure if everyone here actually understands that the next generation consoles are not just about graphics... its also about the complexity of the code... the capacity of content of each games...

I know everyone tend to judge games by their looks... but its more then that...

A very good exemple of this would be GT4... we get a pretty good idea that with the PS3, there'll be the possibility of 20+ cars in the game... everyone will go on saying everyone other games already have 20+ cars... but the difference is (will be) the level physics and management.

Same goes for next gen games. Overall, we see PGR3 for a "barely" new gen game... but people forget about all the little details that everyone wants but are not 'better graphics'.

I'm really looking forward to a few titles as they will push the gaming experience forward...

Well I don't know what cars look like around your area, but car headlights tend to have reflective backings (I forget what the correct term is)... Opposed to satin/matt plastic

People are bound to judge the games on graphics when we haven't played them ourselves (especially on next gen machines) or heard too much about the gameplay. All I've heard about PGR3s gameplay is its very similar to PGR2s. Which I thinks a pity as I never felt like I had much feedback from the PGR2 cars (opposed to say RSC2).

Who on there first day of PGR3 will start a PGR3 photomode gallery right away. I will.

^^ In Depth Preview courtesey of... ME :D

Hey emad, nice reivew. Looking forward to the game in 15 days.

One question:

- on which screen have you played the game (CRT, LCD, plasma, HD, non-HD..) and via which connection (A/V, HDMI, composite...)?

No saving the photo on USB? :D for programmers. Uselles then.

Does yours X360 have an HD? If so, can you save the photos on HD? If not even that, then :D :D :D :D :D to programmers.

The TV was a 42 inch Samsung DLP - probably running at 720p since the game is rendered in something between 420p and 720p definition then upconverted to HD.

That said, everything still looked fantastic 👍

The 360 wasn't mine, it was a Dev box at Microsoft's press office. That said, it had a 60gb drive installed

I cruised over to Wal Mart this morning to see if they had anything for the 360..

.. I left with PGR, now I need the system to play it. :)

Nope.

Not saying they look perfect, but certainly not plastic.

I dunno, look kinda plasticy to me, but then again, it might just be the image. It's really tough to say with static images...

By the way, is noone driving that Ferrari? Or do they come in RHD?
