10 secs... maybe... give or take... I didn't really time it, but after snapping the shot, the disc loaded (with that GT logo and that spinning icon)... the screen goes blank for a few secs... then presto...

Actually sometimes it takes even less than 10sec for the PS2 to
generate the fine photo and display it on the TV screen, but it
takes about 20~30 sec to save the picture into the USB flash unit.

:ouch:

yeah, that would be a more accurate description... I guess it also depends on how many photos you're saving...

it's about 200~250KB for the SUPER FINE Jpeg (1280x960) taken in "Photo Travel".

Here are some shots I took yesterday (hope the link works).

Nice pics there! Too bad they aren't 1280x960 :(

sorry but the place to host the pics limited to 100K for free so if I keep the
original size it will be compressed too much. I prefer a smaller nice pic :)

Yay I am looking forward to using the photo mode and transfering my photos from photo mode in GT4 once GT4 is out in the UK.

Aw this should be some great fun to find a perfect desktop for my computer.

This is just incredible news!!!! I dont think people realize how good this news is that you can just save the pics to the flashdrive!! We cant in the demo but thats fine because im glad to hear that we can in the final game!!

All those people who said that Photomode was going to be crap look a little silly now.

Its an amazing addition to the game and as a serious photographer myself the flexability and results look brilliant.

another question , would it work with the 40giga hard disk which connects through USB ?

This is my favorite pic so far!!! Nice shot Omega!

I've got a Zip drive, and an external Hard drive. both connect through USB. could either of those work?

Zip drives are a thing of the past. Flash drives are sooo much faster, cheaper, easier to use. And they almost never fail.
You coudl get a decent flash drive for probably $20.

My sister just bought a new USB Flash drive 64MB. Do you think that will be enough? Omega, how many MB does each photograph take up?

As far as I know it can be something from 100kB up to 300kB and more, depending on content. On a 64MB stick, you'd at least get 200 photos.

the only methond to pass the photo PS2-PC is using the Flash Drives? I was thinking if we can pass ir by transfering the save by the Network Adapter to the PC......

There might be a way to do that with the Sharkport. Transfer the save to the computer then extract the files somehow.

I tried plugging my Cruzer Mini 128MB drive into the PS2 just to see if it'd pop up on the browser. It didn't. Hopefully GT4 has its own built in way to recognize the USB Drive.

How can i do this? help me..
At this point so we dont hyjack this thread, I would say mabey do a search on Sharkport and get a little info about how to use it. After that we can work on how to possibly extract files from it.

There is a way to create a FTP server on your PS2. Then you can connect your PC to the PS2 with a FTP client and access the memory card. This way you could extract all the photomode images saved on the MC. But this is pretty complex to set it up.

For everybody not knowing how to get your photomode pics to the PC: buy a USB-stick. A 32MB one is big enough for at least 100 pics and won't cost you more than 10-15€ / 13-19$. That's by far the easiest and cheapest method to get your photomode pics to your PC.
