Well done, you've just now got me scared about what i'll have to learn in Physics soon

But yeah, if you do need physics help, I am available. Physics or Computers, and some Chem too. But never ask Bio, I suck at it. lol

thanks! much appreciated! i don't do bio, i suck at it as well!!

@peter - judging your location, i wouldnt be sure if nuclear physics is taught...but saying that if you liked physics at school, then more than likely (depending on your teachers) you GONNA find it enjoyable at a higher level. look at it as getting a head start!!! :D

Just wait until you get to the highest grades of Math courses in University. It will kick. your. ass.

I did certainly kick mine :ouch:

I do believe that the Aerospace Engineering degree would kill someone... Sure is me lol.

Yeah, I reckon that too. Well, come September, I'll be doing a Physics with Medical Physics MSc, so this is working well for me as its refreshing my memory with things I'll need to know for then.

Yeah, All the best for that mate!
I am planning a BSc in Aero Eng, and then top it off with an MSc in Comp Sci, that gives me 3 or 4 hard years, then 2 easy years

That's why, after I get my A in 11th grade next year, Math is gonig out the window on my list of subjects :)

Oh right, that sounds pretty interesting. Aerospace Engineering is something that I considered doing too.

haha thanks guys! i will do! just cramming in the last sorta points that i need to know, which brings me to another problem! LOL!!!

this time is with experimental gas laws, such as boyle's law, charle's law and the pressure law, each with their own similar formula.

there are a few questions that i dont get one of them being;

a sealed can of fixed volume contains air at pressure 101KPa at 100'C. the can is then cooled to a temperature of 20'C. Calculate the pressure of the air in the can.

and btw in the formulas whats the constant?!

i.e pV= constant, V/T= constant and P/T= constant?! im getting confused about how to use these! And the answer is 79KPa.

Basically when you're saying whats the constant, it means that the pressure/temperature is constant in a sealed can because the volume and the amount of the gas is remaining constant. So in this case, P1/T1 = P2/T2.

So in this case 101/373 = P2/293

101/373 x 293 = 79.34KPa.

Remember to change to Kelvin! That's the mistake I made the first time I worked this out. I'd forgotten about that lol.

oh okay....but where do you get the value for 'n'?!

So, in this case, you don't need a value for n as it is a constant because the volume nor the amount of gas in the container is changing.

argh! why is physics so confusing?!! im just going over the kinetic energy of gases... o_O!!! thankfully i know how to use the equations, its just filling in the gaps inbetween!

thanks that though McRoflSandwich! makes much more sense!👍

Haha, it just is confusing I'm afraid. Its just little things that are likely to catch you out. Glad it made sense to you, because reading back through it, I'm not even sure as I understand what I meant about the constants haha.

I think you get the basic gist of what I was saying though :p

lol, exactly and thats good enough to understand how to get the right answer then so be it!!!

i did it!!! WOOOOPPP! yerh the 1st part of the exam (nuclear and thermal) went alright, But i forgot how to work out internal energy (please dont tell me cus i gonna hit myself!!)
However the second part (turning points) was a bit more harder...!

lets just hope that i did enough!

And a MASSIVE thanks to all the people who helped answer the problems that i had especially McRoflSandwich and ECGadget!!! Your help is much appreciated!

IF anyone else has any other problems related to Physics feel free to post a question up in the thread and im sure someone will be more that happy to help you out!

Glad you did well! I won't tell ya int energy or anything LOL, I remember in an Astrophysics exam I forgot how to work out refractive indicies... Wanted to bang my head on a wall when I remember... 3 hours after the exam...

haha that the thing the pressure of exams make you forget the most simplest of things!

Exactly! But yeah, I think whoever posts here I will attempt to assist in Maths, Computers, Physics and some Chem lol.

Yeah, I hate it when you forget something important in the exam, but then remember it afterwards. Oh well, glad it went well for you. And I'm glad I could be of use to you :)
