Okay, well then I guess your props have been revoked.

Off topic: Why don't people stop calling it the X1? It's really becoming something of a pet peeve of mine. Say it with me people:

RedBull X2010

ecks-twenty-ten

/End micro-rant.

X2010 is too much of a hassel to pronouce compared to X1, which it was orginally called before the update. :)

I understand the reasons, but they are still both wrong and lazy.

Since when was pronounciation an issue with a keyboard?

This is an X1:

Your logic that it's okay to call it the X1 because "that's what they called it at first" is wrong. It's no different than referring to Mohammad Ali as Cassius Clay or Kareem Abdul Jabar as Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, Jr.

So... who cares? I bet you are not bothering to call all 25+ versions of MX-5/Miata by their right name as well. They all are Miatas or MX-5s for the 99.9% of people, even tho some even don't have it's in their name. Same goes for 50+ skylines, nascars etc.
So why would i bother to call X1 by it's new name? I like X1 much more.

Polyphony Digital/Sony, Red Bull, BMW, myself, and I'm sure many others.

First off, you're comparing apples to oranges. I'm not saying that you should specify "RedBull X2010" from "RedBull X2010 Prototype" or "RedBull X2010 S. Vettel." They are all X2010s just like they are all NASCAR stock cars, MX-5 Miatas, and Skylines.

So why would i bother to call X1 by it's new name? I like X1 much more.

Maybe because that is what the name of the car is? :dunce: Just because you like it more doesn't make you any less incorrect. I'm going to return to my original point because it didn't seem to make it through to you the first time:

It's no different than referring to Mohammad Ali as Cassius Clay or Kareem Abdul Jabar as Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, Jr.

Please go up to Mohammad Ali and call him Cassius Clay repeatedly and see how much he and the people around him appreciate it.

Anyways, this conversation is both off-topic and pointless to continue because it seems like I'm just going to have to repeat the same points over and over again.

Nice find on the pic. Looks like someone gllitched themselves a bunch of X1s though.

People are going to continue to call the X2010 the X1 simply because it's catchy and it's less to type (thank you cell phones for teaching "1 how 2 txting sp3k" ). Also BMW is theiving the name of a certain airplane...

Well, you'll probably want a better excuse that that. From the AUP:

• You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

Well, that has nothing to do with the RedBull X2010, now does it? :dunce:

No, he's fine. He wasn't using "textspeak" any more than you were. He simply made a reference to it, rather than typing out his post that way. You also made a reference to the very same thing, so if making a reference to it is bad then you're equally guilty. There's absolutely no difference at all in how BulkZerker used it and how you used it.

Hmmm...guess PD needs to get it all sorted out. I watched the intro to the Vettel challenge again a couple of days ago. Guess what, they are calling it an X1.

I'm not even going to argue that point because it is so far off topic that it doesn't matter (plus I don't care).

The fact of the matter is that the car is called the X2010, not the X1. It was called the X1 for a while, but they changed it. The reasons why they changed it were made apparent, but are still irrelevant nonetheless. If you call it the X1 then you are wrong.

Nobody refers to the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Seattle Supersonics. They were called the Supersonics for a heck of a lot more time* than the X2010 was called the X1. I can give more examples all day. The point doesn't change. The car is called the X2010.

*Not to mention all of the money, endorsements, trademarks, branding, legalities, careers, etc.

I'd like to think of the term "X1" as the name of the racing series. Just as one might call the F10 a F1 car. X2010 is the name of the chassis and X1 is the name of the racing series. At least, that's how I view it. Makes more sense that way.

I just call it X10 and if your so annoyed about calling it X1 and go on ranting about a name of a car i will now call it Random uber fast ufo f1 like thing car

Agree 100% with ViLLaiN. It should be referred to properly. It is an X2010. People have become so lazy and are in such a hurry that they can not be bothered to take the extra two tenths of a second to type out the extra digits. Is it really that much of an inconvenience to type out "X2010" as opposed to "X1"?

Well with the amount of times X1/X2010 comes up in topic it sort of does.

You type it once yes its 2 extra digits so what BUT typing it 100 times is 200 digits. Now type x1 200 times and time how long it takes then type out x2010 200 times and time that. Now tell me the difference in time. And besides when you say X1 everyone knows what your talking about whereas some less informed people do not know it has been changed to X2010. :)

Don't give up ViLLaiN, I'm really enjoying this argument. Even though it's about the most trivial thing. I've spent a few minutes reading this thread and would like to see it continued.
Never mind religion, economy or any other real world debate, I'd really like to see this go further.
(I'm not intending to give an opinion by this post, it might just seem this way.)
Let the great debate continue!

Well that's exactly it. It's trivial, and the facts are there. There really aren't any more points to argue. It's just down to being stubborn now.

Heh, I am the original creator of that X2010 Color Chart. :) And no I didn't glitch the game to get that. I've reached level 40 by grinding and bought most of them legitimately and also traded with others on here as well.

But glad to see that my chart comes in handy for some of you.

If anybody is stubborn its you vil. Its a video game, the car will never be real (except that model made for the GT5 launch) and we dont have BMW on our ass for calling it the X1. Or the original Bell X1 either, who cares what people call it, you're being a prick.

Why do you care so much ?? Are you going to die if people call it X1 ? No , let the people call things as they want

Suuuuure you did. That's 390 million (450 minus the 3 "free" ones). I'm playing 4 accounts and I haven't earned more than 150 million total (that includes ALL the seasonal events). Plus my 3 sub accounts aren't at LVL 40 so I couldn't buy an X1 if I wanted to.

That's like 390 hours of grinding Indy BTW (97,500 miles)...

Backup save with full credits, Buy one, trade to other account, reload save. Etc... counts right? :dopey:
