Don't you think it would be good to race for pinks?? I realise there is risk but there is risk with just trading, so why not get some fun out of it??

that would turn in to destruction derby anything to win race, but if your dumb enough to get into a race like that why not.

and how would make a person that was peeved off about losing actually give you the car in question? how would you stop cheating since you can change parts in the menu before racing if it was for a certain hp class.

I love it going to set it up online. With friends to start who I can trust. Is it possible to organise from here. ? Less chance of getting ripped off if were all gt members. ?

it would have to be a deal where PD writes a script that automatically transfers the car. would probably have to put it in a online hold que before the race to prevent someone turning off their system to kill the transfer.

Well you couldn't, but the same goes for car trading, you have to trust the guy or gal you'r trading with. I think this site should create a black list for the people who dont keep up their end of the bargain, be that for trading or for pink slips, one where say I get an offer for a trade from Mr.X I[/i] could search for his PSN here to see if he has marks against him, sort like a seller rating on ebay.

A system like that has been trialled in the GT5 Marketplace, but it is our experience that "black lists" generally lead to trouble when people object to being placed on them. - interludes

lols (This is unacceptable) I[/i] like it, the race could also be limited. e.g. to less then 500bhp, so if someone tried cheating by slapping a turbo on right before the race, they would be refused entry.

Yeah, doing it with trusted members of this site is a good idea 👍

Jesus the Moderators on here are pathetic, get a life really!!

the trusted member thing is a great idea, that would be a pretty good way to fill your garage quickly especially if it were a race with 12 people, winner gets 11 cars.

Lol, the trophy only works with 1000 different cars. ;)

you could either both race the same car with same power that's worth selling. or maybe a race were you select your car at last min with no rules it could be a miss match but that's the persons fault who doesn't take the risk with a Better car. ? 12 man lobby 10 spectators that want to play because if you lose one race that's obviously your sending quota for the day.

X1 vs x1 I'd like to be there when these two meet

No, because it's just a by-product of THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS culture.

PS - your grammar could use some work.

Was watching morons race for pinks in the early 90's and it was going on long before that. Not often but did happen and a good laugh since i was never involved.

I would so like to try this out though the races should be set up in here for example and one on one only. Real racers (no destruction derby) though accidents may happens were just humans lol, and maybe a moderator or someone from GTPlanet could watch the race like a jugde. If no car is gifted = Kicked from this site. forever. :)

What? You mean that Fast and the Furious movie that came out in 1940? I wasn't aware of that one.

Thank you, I can't beleive this site underlines spelling mistakes etc.. Feels like i'm back at school. I had to re-read this to makesure i don't get another warning, laugh out loud (Since the abbreviation is not allowed.).

i would be so down...my favorite car is not my fastest anyways, and usually people that want to slip race want your most powerful car and my 598hp 69' Stingray may be underpowered to my Z06 but it is my best all around race car...meaning i probably wouldn't have to worry about someone wanting it...

I challenged one of my mates to pink slips. Jappers vs Euros and he was thinking about it but then backed down to the mighty GTR!!

If you do it online there should be a judge who can record and see if anyone jumped the line, etc. Just to make sure there are no disputes.

Hey guys, I've actually held several races for pinks with my friends, and this is how I do it.

To answer the first question: Yes, it has to be someone you really trust, because they can decide to just not send you the car. I do this with my real life friends.

1: Setup the race type : Time-Trial, Grid Race, Rally, Best 3 out of 5 laps, Race Series with points, exc...
2: Setup with regulations. This is the most important part. What we do is basically this
Pink Slip Race One: Time Trial on Tsukuba Circuit
Timeframe: 12-15 to 12-17 10pm EST
The player with the fastest time will receive the cars of the other players at the conclusion of the event. Cars must be decided before event takes place and the player is not allowed to use a different car during the event. Regulations: 300hp, RR, MR, or FR, not under 1000kg. Sports Soft tires max. No driving aids allowed. Premium only (to make sure the car is desirable, sometimes I like to do what is called "Interesting only", where we agree on the cars first)
Winner must confirm time with a photo showing the local leaderboard, that car, and the time must fall within the dates of the race.
3: Bam, whoever wins, gets the cars.

It's pretty fun. You can set price limits. This time trial sort of race is better if you only have 2-3 people, grid race events are better if you have a bigger field. You can also have someone donate prize cars to the winner, and things of that nature. I find that whenever I put up an RUF as a prize car I always get a good turn out. Tonight I had a two hour long race series that was very competitive (Thanks to Kaz for the new mechanical damage, it made the races very heated!)

So yes, you can do it. But no, i wouldn't do it with public players. You'd never get the cars.

What if you lost your internet connection tho.. good idea but flawed

This game is most definitely not for fast and furious fans. Those people would get more out of playing the need for speed games..

I'm sorry but i'm sick of seeing fast and furious getting mentioned. As it has been pointed out already pink slips have been around a long time before the need for speed series of games, and the fast and the furious movies.

I've also participated in a few myself. We set a 100,000 Cr limit on the value of the cars because we want it to be more about the event than the prize. This means people aren't bothered about paying up since it only takes 1 A-spec race to make up their loss and it also means they're prepared to race cleanly.

What do you mean by not for fast and furious fans? You mean people who are fans of street racing with real physics and love cars? Gee, I guess GT5 isn't about the cars... 💡

Sounds like a great idea to me. 💡

true, but unless its car specific you could get a good variety of cars.

True. Lol.

What? You mean that Fast and the Furious movie that came out in 1940? I wasn't aware of that one.

1939. :P And a car film in 1955. ;)
