Why do you prefer your favourite pizza delivery service?

I have a Franchise by my house that's pretty damn sweet and thats Marcos Pizza, its a smaller franchise but very good! also i have mr. pizza by me which is good as well. and when I'm totally to get constipation for 3 days i get my favorite pizza which is a Jets 8 corner pizza! its a square pizza, well 2 square 4 piece pizzas allllll corners for 8 bucks! (one topping) so thats my experience, and usually we dont get delivery because marcos has a punch card if you go in and get it and 10 punches = 11th pizza free

I gotta say, I rarely get pizza delivered anymore. Now that everybody has $10 carryout large pizzas I almost always get that. A local place called Cousin Vinny's has a large 1-topping, bread sticks, and two drinks in collectible cups for like $11, or $14 delivered. It's a mile up the road so I might as well drive.

But lately I've been stocking my own pop which I never used to do, so often go with Pizza Hut or Domino's. Either way, all of them deliver reliably, but for a price.

A classic favorite around here, Marion's, doesn't deliver and only takes cash. The stores are big and always packed at dinner.

Round Table Pizza. When you're older and have more income, you go for the good stuff. My boys love Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut so we get that from time-to-time. They love it 'cause it's greasy.

I loved Dominos! Thin crust pepperoni was good! Sadly though my local Dominos had to leave or went out of business because of construction but Pizza Hut is good too, maybe you should drive and pick it up but it would be faster wouldn't it? My dad just gets pizza from a local place but it's good there too

I don't take delivery. I always carry out.

Me too, after the delivery fee and tip, it almost ends up costing double for delivery.

It's much more cost effective to call when i'm leaving work and grab one on the way home.

Pizza hut, dominos, and papa johns all taste the same to me. Too greasy and very average crust. I'll go to one of the many local places every time...better crust, fresher ingredients, and usually more variety too.

I wasn't hungry before I came into this thread.....

Also, I can eat a pizza in approximately 3 minutes.:p

Maybe not 3 minutes but a hella fast time anyways;)

I have probably around 15 different choices to choose from when I comes to pizza. I don't know where the closest Pizza Hut, Dominos or Papa Johns is... But I usually go to Round Table. But for a little more money I can go to Amicis which is the freaking best.

Funny, I always considered Pizza Hut as the greasy one. I prefer Domino's around here. Never had an issue with "sticky cheese" and I like their crust. Little Caesars is cheep and tastes like it.

There's also Papa Murphy's which is actually a take and bake pizza. Although I'm not sure what's available in Europe...

Tastes cheap??? You obviously haven't it here in Michigan!

I can't stand corporate owned pizza joints. Might as well go the gas station and buy a frozen pizza to cook myself...don't have to tip either.

If anyone is ever in the Chicago area this place is easily the best pizza you'll find west of Italy:

Been eating there since I was in diapers (70's child here).

I always stick with Little Caesars, no delivery, its only five minute drive from my home - I just go and pick them up, by the way there is a Safeway near the pizzeria, so I also go pick up soda and chips to enjoy along with pizza.

You don't have tip regardless, corporate or not.

If they ask either return the rudeness with the door slamming in their face, or if you can't muster up the desire to be that rude than just say "No."

Used to love Little Caesars until they went out of business. Liked their stuffed and regular crazy bread.

When I want great pizza I go to Boston Pizza, although it is more expensive. My regular pizza now is "Fresh Slice", a new brand from here. Cheap and tasty, low on fat and grease as well.

Really, really good pizza for a good price. Only two stores around here, and the one by my house has a good car scene. There's a Miata tuned for Spec-Miata and then made street legal, there's a 240SX S13 with an SR20DET Swap, and then my friend owns a 2010 Subaru Impreza WRK STI, really cool.

Pizza Hut, just because there's one 15 minutes walk from here (it's way too costly for delivery).

I never ever buy pizza from any of the franchise stores. To put it simply they are crap preservative/frozen ingredient laden rubbish.
We either make our own or buy from the local small guy. He uses fresh ingredients every day sliced up in the morning, bought from the greengrocer and deli around the corner.

Cheers Shaun.

In Australia the best easily is crust. It is a chain but it definitely is fresh.

Unless you are willing to eat in at a restaurant though some great places on lygon st for those who live in Victoria.

I voted for taste anyway. Little point in a quick delivered cheap pizza that tastes like crap.

I used to like Dominos. Me and the missus would get a pizza each once a week - helped a lot by the fact that where we used to live, the local franchise did a 50% discount for NHS staff. Where we're living now, there's a Dominos less than a minute's walk away, but we've really gone off them, the pizzas just aren't that nice.

What we have found, however, is that there's an Italian familly (like properly Italian, from Italy, not just got an Italian sounding name, Italian) run place a couple of minute's drive away. They use fresh dough, fresh ingredients and a wood-fired oven. The difference between their pizzas and Dominos is just unbelieveable - they're a million times better. They're also a good bit cheaper. They don't deliver, but if you get there and your pizza isn't ready, the mother of the family will give you a free bottle of beer and will have a good chat with you whie you wait.

Over here;

Pizza Hut - cheaperish-est, but food quality is so-so. Love the sides and baked rice though.
Domino's - reopened recently, best tasting pizzas, they're quick (30 minute guarantee and all). Pricey though. Cinnamon bread's lovely too.
Pelican Pizza - Toppings thick as can be. Pricey, but offset by their 1-for-1 thing.
Canadian 241 - Pizzas are meh, sides are meh, don't see why people like 'em
Sarpino's - Smaller chain, pizzas are good (and the only one I've seen with practically-gapless pepperoni), yet to actually try delivery though.

Pizza's not really a comfort food here, it costs like $20 a 9".

I'm more concerned about the price and and taste of the food, since over here delivery times are generally quite fine (45 mins or an hour on average), usually only affected either by weather concerns or how much business they're having.

Weird Pizza in Melbourne is the best place ever.

Take a look at some of these babies.

You're a dick if you don't though, those guys get paid like crap and depend on tips. If I were you I'd watch out for spit on my pizza.

If you can't afford to tip, drive to the place yourself and get pickup, or better yet, cook your own food.

That's culture dependant though. I've never tipped anyone, ever. Doesn't happen here. I realise that's a US thing, does it happen in Europe too?

Well I work as a delivery driver for Pizza Hut. Right now our store only has 2 drivers, so shifts are like 9 hours.

That said, when there's only 2 drivers, and it gets busy, **** gets real. There's no way to regulate the deliveries either. Only takes 10 minutes to make the food, but in my area it takes at least 15 minutes one way to deliver. I usually get it done in the 40-60 minute estimation time.

That and Pizza Hut is the only delivery service on the whole island.

So with that said, I hate my job and will be resigning soon enough anyways.

I used to work part-time with Dominos as a delivery driver. I would love to be in your position! Multiple deliveries on a trip 👍

Assuming that you are paid per delivery and not a fixed wage. Over here, we use our own vehicle and on top of a basic wage while clocked in, we get mileage per delivery basis. The mileage given is not much, hence multiple deliveries are always welcomed :dopey:

* to clarify, the 'mileage' we get is for per delivery and not based on actual miles travelled. If I do 4 deliveries to a place all near each other on a single trip, I get the money for 4x deliveries.

Tipping everyone seems to be a US thing, from what I can tell. Having travelled around a fair chunk of the world, it's only in America where you are basically expected to tip. In Japan, it's actually seen as a bit of an insult to the server, weirdly. In the US, from what I've seen while over there, tipping is used in place of manners - serving staff, tacxi drivers etc. always seemed to be surprised when we said please and thank you. I've never tipped a pizza delivery person and doubt I ever will... I don't tip Mcdonald's staff, so why would I tip a Dominos employee?

Saying that, I tip in proper restaurants (if the service is good, which is the point of tipping, really) and I'll always say "and have one yourself" to barstaff, who should then take 20-50 pence out of my change.

When i worked at pizza hut i got paid $6.60 fuel allowance then $3.30 per delivery and i was guaranteed 2 deliverys and hour.

I loved friday nights even if it was busy.

Drunk foosball fans gave good tips so they could go back and watch the game.

At times i got $10~$20 tips.

And i drove my own car.

What made me quit is the rising fuel costs and just one of the managers annoying me.

When they make a mistake taking down a address they said i should have a phone and call the customers.

I didn't have money for a phone thus i had a job.

But i also had to buy a whole set of new tires for my car as one blew when i was delivering(was on the way back) this set me back about $500.

When i quit i had around $200 and i was going to TAFE as well so i decided to get a Asus 8600GT video card, rather than a phone since i no longer needed it.
