I jus purchased HD advance from Modchipstore.com. Can anyone tell me if they had any past experience dealing w/ them. Just to prevent any confusion, it's modchipstore.com not "modchip.com" Thanks in advance
 
Consolesource has good service, I had no problems with them. They do ship from Canada, so expect a few extra days for shipment.

If you had no experience from dealing with them, you should have never placed an order until you had more information on them.

Definitely agree on this one. Their prices are outstanding, website layout is incredible, and very customer-oriented. Plus, like you said, they're from Canada, so you can't go wrong :P

About 4 months ago I bought the Hdloader and 40 gig HDD combo well it took more than a week to get here even after I paid for the shipping. But there from Canada so I understand. After 2 days that I received my HDD and the disk my HDD stoped working. I tried to contact them so they can help me or the get another 1 but all they would say is U have to wait until we send U a email. I even called them and all they would say is that I had to wait . Now that was 4 months ago and I still haven't received anything from them. So I had to buy a new HDD.

Damn, that sucks man. Come to think of it, it is taking an awfully long time for them to ship my package. It's been under the "queued" status for about 4 days now...

EDIT: lol, just after I posted this, I went back to the website to check the status, and now it is listed as the "Complete" status :)

I think the best way is to buy the Hdloader from a website wheter is Consolesource or other but to buy the HDD at a store, so if you have any problems with it u can just take it to them. And if they cant help u just throw it thru a window, that would make me feel better if they werent located all the way in Canada. (Consolesource.com)

I jus got my HD advance the other day and works awesome. The only two things i can't get to work properly. 1. I can't seem to back up my older ps one games. everytime i put one of my psx games in there, it says "please insert a ps2 game" What gives??? And secondly i cant figure out how to use this stupid slide tool. Do i close the tray and then slide the hooked part into the ps2 and slide it from side to side???
 
ps1 games wont work simply on the basis that they utilize a completely different instruction set than the ps2. If you want to play ps1 games you'll just have to pop the cd in
 
I ordered HD Loader at consolesource.com Hopefully, they won't pull any crap.

I'll get the HD and network adapter, once I get it and the PS2 can read the disc.
 
I ordered mine from Modchipstore.com and it came FAST!!!!

Anyways i got another question. Why does hd advance come w/ two disc?? I know they say you're suppose to use the cd for backing up cd games and the dvd to backup dvd games but i've used the dvd disc to backup street fighter ex 3 which is on a cd. Has anyone else done something like this?

On another note: the dvd works fine but the cd on the other hand doesn't work as well. When i turn the system on w/ the cd it takes a lot more time to load up and my ps2 makes all kinds of strange noises trying to read the disc. The dvd also take a more time to load than a normal dvd game but not nearly as much time as the cd. Both disc are in mint condidtion so i dont really see why it's happening. Has anyone else had this experience??
 
It might have to do with fooling the Playstation 2 into thinking it's a legitimate disk. I guess I should ask, are you aware that HD Loader / Advance are not licensed products and are therefore illegal? Because they don't have licenses they've had to use hacks to make them work. The processes of fooling the PS2 into thinking everything is ok may take a while to perform. I would assume that is where the issue is.

Either that or it's just really badly programmed (:

Well it's probably a press cd and if it isnt and is a "normal" burnt cd, i personally wouldn't use it because using cdr's in your ps2 is meant to put wear and tear on the laser really fast. Also the reason why you would hear it making alot of noise when reading is because unlike a original ps2 dad/ cd whatever, the files arn't as well placed out on the cd. In that a ps2 game has its files allocated in a way which it flows with the game, but a burnt cd doesnt and the ps2 has to search the cd/ dvd. BUt yea i hope this helped ya with your question.

Yes i read your post completely and in no way did i say you're information is wrong so try not to get your panties in a bunch. What i want to hear is testimony from other people if they are experiencing something similar to this so i can confirm if it's normal. Obviously you should know this b/c you jus quoted me asking the same question for the second time and now again for the third. A simply yes i have or no i haven't response is all i'm looking for. Thank you.
