They were funny but they were actually going the direction I would like with the 'grip' section, bigger and smoother. Just not huge and banana like and they're onto a winner with me.

I guess time will tell on what the controller looks/feels like. One thing I hope for is that the build quality, for the amount of money it'll probably cost, will be significantly better.

Sharing a little interesting tidbit:

According to Edge, the PS4 will inherently record and save "the most recent 15 minutes of onscreen action," which you can then edit and share using the console's sharing function. Edge also says Orbis will be more powerful than Microsoft's next console, codenamed Durango, at least on paper.

That controller is just obscene.

Anyway I'm getting a bit excited. Also, I might be getting my hopes up a bit too much, but it might increase the chance of GT6 being announced in the somewhat near future.

It's obviously not clear exactly what they're going to show at this presentation but you would assume that if any PS4 game footage is shown GT6 will be one game shown, in some way shape or form. Even if it's just stills.

The way I see it there's probably not going to be any games unveiled, just the console.

I'm definatly getting excited but I really think they are going to wait for E3 to show us something of GT6. For the 20th of February they are supposed to have a somewhat follower to PGR to show off, let's see what happens.

I hope the controller redesign is more than that, just sounds like the exact same controller with a touch pad in the middle. Hardly a redesign the same as adding a 'PS' button there for the PS3 wasn't.

Of course, adding a PS button wouldn't need a redesign, but adding something like a touch pad interface in the middle (plus some new buttons) might need a bit more dramatic solution imo. The fact that it might no longer follow the dual shock line may imply something much different as well.

Yes, this is the best way to approach this. Last two Playstation Meetings was about the Vita, and the Playstation 3. Both events didn't reveal much on games, and E3 was the event to do it for both cases.

I certainly wouldn't expect full game demonstrations and reveals but it'd be odd to reveal a console and not at least play a few trailers to show off that hardware, just a minute or two. Espcially games that wouldn't be a surprise like GT. New IPs, probably not.

You're right. Past announcements from the last two Playstation Meetings (Vita/Ps3) had demonstrations of gameplay of early stages of its launch games. Keyword is launch, so if GT is to be a launch, or at least near, title, there may be some hint of GT6. However, I got a feeling it might be Uncharted. It was one of the games they demonstrated at the event of the Vita's announcement.

Here's an example of the PS3's announcement event in 2005. The PS4's event may go similar to this: http://www.ign.com/articles/2005/07/25/playstation-meeting-index

It could be that they just show generic 'Next Generation' Gran Turismo footage and don't specify a game. Only time will tell of course.

Yeah, I see what you mean. The announcements from that link was pretty generic and only one or two had the actual title of the game. If we do though, I'm not sure if it's going to actually showcase the PS4's power like we'd like it to. When they teased Gran Turismo Vision, it didn't exactly resemble what GTHD or GT5:P ended up looking like, nor did a lot of the games showcased in 2005's PlayStation event. Also, Gran Turismo 2000's teaser didn't resemble GT3 either. I guess it all depends on how near GT6 will be released to the PS4's launch.

Cross fingers for a demo of GT6 on the 20th of Feb. Plus anything else Sony would like to show us! The next 19 days are going to feel like a very long time.

Yeah I think the difference with this game is that they're much closer to release this time. GT Vision and GT2000 seemed like they were knocked together very quickly with touched up previous gen stuff because they didn't have anything else to run with. GT6 however has been in development since before GT5 released in 2010, they SHOULD have something nice to show off.

I just don't understand why grown men are so childish when it comes to consoles. Teenage fanboys I get but grown men?

So how old are you again?

Nobody's perfect?....

PS4 aside I am hoping for a new strategy for the PS Vita, the current one is broken.

Wall Street Journal is straight up saying that it will certainly be about the PS3's successor. Talk about confidence:

I'm with you on this.

I'd read if I could access the article, which I can't. I'm not signing up to read one article in which I don't think has much on it.

I was talking about the fact that was posted dozens of posts ago.

Oh I see.

Well, I read talks about WSJ, but I didn't see any links similar to mine. I personally don't go back any more than 7 pages. The one I linked to is also dated for today, not yesterday.

Agreed @SimonK. 👍 How long has it so far? Umm, like two and a half I think? They should at least show like a tease. :)

I read the post @wicken copy from a site, saying that the PS4 will be much more 'simpler' to work with for devs? If that's true, than that should be really good news. :D

After the snoozefest that was last year's E3, I won't be even slightly surprised if it's just news about DLC for Storybook or whatever that tripe/thing for kids was called.

Dude, don't mention Wonderbook again. :nervous:

A PSVita Slim/accessory would already be bad enough with the hype build-up. A DLC/Wonderbook combo would seal Sony's death. Because I know Sony wouldn't want to go bankrupt anytime soon, I personally would be surprised.

Seriously, the wonderbook crap sounds like a prank now, if they really show us the PS4 on feb. 20.

It's like:

"oh, we're screwed, we just have this book thing... poor us."

Then BOOM. New PS4, in our faces.

I like this.
