About the Watch Dogs delay. I'm sorry, but I why would anyone be excited about that game after GTA V anyway?

GTA 5? Please don't make me laugh hard. I've seen this in GTA SA, GTA 4 GTA 3 and many more. So for me GTA 5 is just boring old chewed up bone. Same missions same driving shooting. I've get tired of it. So that's why i was hoping to live in other world like the one in Watchdogs.

It amazes me you always complain about other games being the same and unoriginal yet you crave another by number Ridge Racer game which hasn't changed since......ever.

Yes you are 5% right, but the other amazing 95% is that i completely love this manic sideways sliding madness. :sly: Ridge Racer was almost always launch title for Sony game console. So i was truly shocked when only one game that i can play without bitching and moaning while waiting for some decent to play is not going to be released at all. At least not as launch title. I have many friends who love Ridge Racer as myself and we many times battle for controller. Competing against each-other for lap times for better slides and have few other ways to play it. RR 7 for ps3 had some refreshed race tracks, HD graphics, bonus stages, bonus DLC battles. Was really amazing Arcade Racer.

Not having both Ridge Racer and Wipeout games makes me sad :grumpy: well angry rally

I hope you get it now. It's just one game that i cant get enough every time when it's released on new system. With RR for PS4 there is huge potential to add new race tracks, new cars, new bonuses, battles, new techno-electrical music. There are many fans of RR and Wipeout in the world.

USSR, how is GTAV the same old thing every time? Everything has been improved, there's variety in the missions, from repoing cars to robbing stores, I doubt it is the same thing. What's more, the online component has raised the bar and set a new industry standard. So no, you haven't done your research.

I don't think GTA Online is that good. Perhaps it set the industry standard for data loss...

ussr has a point: I would immediately buy a PS4 if there was a new, full Wipeout (not a rehash a la HD).

Since Watch_Dogs and The Crew are now delayed, Driveclub is the only game coming out on PS4 that interests me. I m not gonna buy a 400€ console for that.

That article is garbage and the autor is a really poor and helpless writer. I'm sorry, but he's just another one of those attention wh*** trying to get clicks.

Seriously, how exactly is this a "red line of death" if the console doesn't take any damage from it? Ridiculous, plain ridiculous.

EDIT: Nothing against you, thanks for sharing that information.

Don't worry I know what you mean that article is purely to try scare people. The only news I got from it was when the PS4 gets to hot a red line appears and an on screen warning comes up. Nothing like the RROD or YLOD

Have you actually played GTAV?

As your comments on it are so far from the reality it would strongly suggest not.

While the environment is familiar, as a core game its actually changed significantly, particularly in the main area you raise issues about (same old missions). GTAV is far more story driven that any title in the series to date, with missions that actually make sense in the context of the story and are certainly not "same missions same shooting", not to mention the three switchable characters make a huge difference to the way it plays (and after GTA4 I had lots a lot of faith in the series).

Yes, i feel exactly the same way as you. Watchdog was only option for me. So i had a problem what to do with my Pre Order, I've paid a little fee for reserving console. I'm pretty sure you have this in your countries also.

I was thinking about canceling my pre-order but then realized I've never played any Assassin's Creed Games on PS3, so if Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is not going to be delayed i will buy it, and then rest of this amazing line up, which is:

  • Assassin's Creed 1,
  • Assassin's Creed 2,
  • Assassin's Creed 3,
  • Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood,
  • Assassin's Creed: Liberation,
  • Assassin's Creed: Revelation

Yes, GTA 5 is improved a lot, with not just graphics but also with shooting and car driving which is great in comparing to GTA 4. But for me it's all about the same, little different story but the same way of playing, driving steeling shooting. Can i get a little tired of this game ??

Industry standard? 16 players on a huge world? Hardly the industry standard .

You are of course free to get tired of it, but I seriously can't agree that GTA5 is just more of the same.

I would add however if you feel like that then I would strongly recommend that you not play all of the Assassin's Creed series, because from AC2 (which for me is still the highlight of the series) onwards you are pretty much going to feel the exact same.

Yeah I wonder how AC went from sneaky assassination to gun wielding assassin. It went downhill from 3. They went Activision on us, they made a AC every year!

Can't believe it's just a month away now, wow.

Yeah, the news on Watchdogs was disappointing, but I'll have my fun with Driveclub, BF4, and The Division, whenever that comes out. Maybe try out a sports game, some of the next-gen EA games look INTENSE.

So GTA is just the same thing over and over and that's bad but Ride Racer is the same thing over and over but that's good? Well alright then, as long as you're clear and consistent.

Which in actual practice meant Namco would have dumped out Ridge Racer V with a shinier coat of paint again, because the series hasn't had any real effort put into it since R4.

G25 and G27 should work with games on PS4 but this is due to developers implementation. Not firmware in PS4. So if for example Polyphony want to all steering wheels available on the market right now works with lets say GT 7 then would be no problem at all.

As for Xbox One M$ always promoted their own wheel and never allowed any device without Microsoft logo work with Xbox. So i wouldn't be surprised if this policy continues with Xbox One

Ever heard of an opinion? Some people likes certain things to stay the same because they feel as though it is already 'perfect' and doesn't benefit from any change. I assume USSR here feels this way about Ridge Racer. I feel this way about GTA as well. On the other hand, they feel that certain things are too alike to it's predecessor and would benefit from some change. I think this is how USSR feels about GTA. I've yet to get GTA V myself, but from the gameplay videos I've watched, at it's core, it's classic GTA. Watchdogs on the other hand, has all that new and fancy cellphone/bank account/infrastructure hack thing which is bringing something different to the open world genre.

So that's it, huh? The hacking thingy beats all the things you can do in GTA V? It's new, I'll give you that, but how fun can it possibly be, and for how long?

Delaystation all over again

On a side note, I think both Sony and MS should've waited till 2014 and included some better GPUs.

That makes no sense.

It's like telling a PC guy to wait 1 year for better GPUs, but when that year is over he'll be facing the exact same situation again. Wait another year? And another year? Wait forever? Ahh sounds smart.

PC graphic cards don't work like that. You get a big jump in performance when they move to a new wafer.

Secondly, 2 years ago when moving to 28nm, nvidia did a good job but AMD didn't and nvidia just released a midrange card to go against the 7970.

The 680 and 7970 weren't much better than the GTX 580 from 2010. PS4 and Xbox One are picking from this pool.

The big jump before this was the 4870 and 5870 in 2009, AMD did a good job, as did nvidia. Choosing a 4870 would be very bad planning and not good for native 1920x1080 gaming. Hope you can understand now its not a yearly thing.

Also Xbox One could do with waiting, devs have had to go to 900p or stay at 720p. Who knows, maybe some would still trade off on a better GPU but I doubt it and I know the 7790 is not that great even with low level coding.

AMD will get their new range and do 28nm properly soon.

A year would've helped a lot. My 1920x1080 TV was bought in 2008, they come out in around 2006/07 and become popular in 2008 and mainstream by 2010. Here we are in the end of 2013 and having to play upscaled games on new consoles.

We might see more native games later but more so the Xbox One is cutting it fine for my liking. Would be so much easier for everyone concerned to wait.

EDIT: I'd also say upclocking the GPU, what MS did is a clear need for more performance but of course the is painted into a good thing by any company. And Kinect is taking a slice out of the GPU so its actually even less. MS are looking to remove this to get a bit more back.

I know what you mean, but it's definitely not a new wafer.

No

No, they're not if you're referring to the 5xx series.

Sorry, but it is the first time an APU comes anywhere close to a GPU in the higher mid range (at least the PS4 APU). Nothing like that is available for the regular PC market. There's nothing comparable out there, it makes no sense to wait another year. It is already the big step.

Also Xbox One could do with waiting, devs have had to go to 900p or stay at 720p.
Not "had to", they just don't want to go for 1080p.

Not my point.

... the APUs do already use the 28nm manufacturing process, I hope you're not living under a rock.

And I know who's guilty (hint: it's not the consoles).

Not referring to 500 series.

You're not reading or lacking some comprehension. I clearly informed you that AMDs current 28nm 7000 series was not good and stated they'll do 28nm properly soon. You should know from seeing the word properly that there was a previous time on 28nm and that's what I'm talking about and thus aware they already use 28nm.. It's very basic comprehension.

Sorry but your whole post reads as a poor reaction to your first reactionary post.

It's like telling a PC guy to wait 1 year for better GPUs, but when that year is over he'll be facing the exact same situation again. Wait another year? And another year? Wait forever? Ahh sounds smart.

To sumerize again, pc graphic cards don't work like that. We get big jumps in performance every 3/4 years and the other times are small increments. AMD didn't do well when they should have going from 40nm to 28nm. AMD are going to correct things soon somewhat. Point is this crop isn't that good and unfortunately rare for this to happen.
