I use an Action Replay 2.01 and Grand Theft Auto 3 originals to play Special Stage, but the swap no longer works with new Action Replays / Gamesharks so you need a modchip or those swapmagic discs and a fliptop cover lid, but I don't think Initial D Special Stage is worth the ammount of money a chip costs or a swap method costs, unless you live in the UK and you would like Metal Gear Solid 3, Final Fantasy X-2 before their UK release date, only some (mostly all new) modchips can boot original imports.

Yup that's me, I have a Messiah 2 chip. Haven't had any problems booting original import games. I heard some people had problems with Xenosaga, but it worked fine for me. Same with the Japanese version of GT3 I got for £5.

Shush.

I fiixed it to some extent, it now has one of those TRD ducktail spoilers. I just want the propper wheels back.

On another note I beat that old guy in the Impreza, he was hard. Oh and i'm stuck on mission 20 with the FD, you face the guy with the R32 Skyline and when you pass him it, just goes mission failed.
 
yep, but i passed that level :p
it was quite hard at first, because personally i think the FD is hard to handle....rather then the 86

I dunno, I prefer the turboed cars the have more torque. Although i'm not using a steering wheel so to me the cars don't handle too differently. Although all the cars I have are FR so I don't know how the FF MR and 4WD cars drive.

if i remember correctly, you just have to NOT let him go in front of you. Just block him whenever he tries to get ahead, frustrating at first.. but you can do it :D

try a 4wd car, those are fun to drive too, evo3 in particular :)

wow you have showed us that you can clearly press the banghead icon a lot of times. it's not necessary to do so, and just floods the board's servers. Even if we did know the cheapest place, we don't even know your location, so how do you expect us to tell you? and yes you can order online, but i doubt you'd know how to install it.

I still haven't passed that stage 20 yet, although I figured out you can only pass him on the last sector of the course. When it starts raining, meh i've given up on it for a little while anyway, i've just been practicing on the time trial mode.
 
Yeah you need an S or A to unlock all the music and stuff so I usually keep trying to get those ranks. Although sometimes it seems you can only get a C rank in some missions?

Maybe I just suck.

mosty i got Cs when i first started playing.. but now i get Bs most of the time with my semi-caring attitude. however if i try, i usually end up with A or S :)

but hmm.. what i haven't figured out yet is.. what's the point of getting the music unlocked haha, i already have all the songs of initial D revving on my speakers on pc! :D

You know the mission when you face the Emperors guy (I think that's the teams name) in the Evo III and your engine blows. Can you get an S or A on that? I can only get C or D.

The music really suits the game, what tracks are your favorites?

Mine are.
Killing my love, Speedy speed boy, Running in the 90's and Gamble Rumble (from the intro). Oh and remember me is pretty cool.
 
I need help beating the professional racer in the EK9. After I get past the first checkpoint, and go through those hairpin turns he just takes off, and I can't catch him.

Is that the Civic with the CF hood and the spoon wheels?

I suggest you just practice on that course in time trial mode.

Well thats what I did, i'm up to that guy again with my S14 now. There isn't any secret technique to beating him, other than knowing the course really well.

Oh and I thought you aren't allowed to put outwar links in your signature.

Now I can keep up with him on the first part of race, but after I clear it, and we start the second part, I get smoked, even if I don't run into anything, and why do I have to start behind him even if I beat him on the first part of the course
 
hey im just wondering if you have a steering wheel whenplaying initial d will help u play better at the arcades or are the steering wheel on ps2 is completely different than the arcade??????:banghead: :banghead:
 
Anyone have any idea if its ever coming to the UK?

I dled all the episodes on kazza, then the music, then I played the arcade game on hols & loved it :) .........then I bought an import dvd of the first stage that was region free...... :( wheres me game.

Oh yeah & I hope if it does come to UK it'd be great if it retained the 2 player mode, I heard it doesn't have that in the Japanese version?
 
Well apparently it's comming to the US, so I don't see why I it wouldn't go to europe as well.

The music is cool, but I don't really like the Anime that much. I mean I like the way the characters are drawn (Different from most anime), but the races look kinda stupid with the cars staying sideways for 30mins and still retaining loads of speed out of the corner.

but hmm, not sure about the UK thing... but you might want to check it out since you love it so much like me :D

hrrmm...maybe you can get a friend to buy you and send it over to you or something if it doesn't... or perhaps chip you ps2, and then buy a copied version of it.

Well he could chip his PS2 (messiah 2 or DMS3) and actually buy an imported Original version. I've seen quite a few floating about still in various gameshops.
 
Yeah I thought about chipping my PS2 & buying a copy of Ebay, but mod chips seem a little expensive at the moment (or atleast what I've seen for the decent mod chips).

I bought my PSX modchip (One of those stealth ones, that could play practically any game) for £5 :)

Hopefully it'll come to Europe eventually along with the dvds.


/Just bought Auto Modellista, thats pretty good the car handling isn't as fun as Initial D's though.
