You could try using sandpaper over the whole screen making it all look the same and then hope they don't notice.![]()
Rule #4: Man up to it. You did it and you owe it to your parents. Say goodbye to your allowance for a while.
To polish glass would require an equivalent grit of hundreds of thousands.Just curious as to what sandpaper grit grade you used, if its 2 or 3 digits I might burst into tears....
RIP you'll be remembered.![]()
Wow the fact the OP hasn't posted again maybe suggests the conversation with his dad didn't go so well...
Probably banned from using the computer forever!

it was glossyJeez you should have asked here first before taking advice on YouTube
I cannot believe you used sandpaper on a monitor and there's no real way of going back from that however I have a few recommendations you could try.
Is it a glossy or matt monitor? Also is it glass fronted or just a panel? You weren't really clear because if its standard LCD they usually pretty scratch resistant unless you hit it with something sharp.
You could use a tiny amount of tinned car wax on a soft cloth and work it in circles lightly. Another thing you could try is polishing compound which is similar to toothpaste but formulated for scratches on glass and acrylic.
All of these will just mask the scratches, nothing will remove them apart from harsh strippers or chemicals which will destroy the monitor. The best course of action is to just admit to your dad what happened and offer to pay for it or something.

He still doesnt know he did not see a put Vaseline so it kind of looks normal until you go very close or you put light on it
^ 👍 I totally agree. It's worked for many. Just take a few crayons and draw a rough picture of the desktop.
His dad.

HE1ROWell, since you are not going to tell him. you could just wait until he asks about/rubs the vaseline off and be like, "What'd you do?"
