^ Sad reality, really. :indiff:

-> And the other remaining ones will be locked and rot in storages (Sultan of Brunai for example) as if like a 1:1 scale car, never to be seen in public. :(

GOOD NEWS-> A real prototype has been spotted up close!

Don't they sell kit cars for the Original Stratos? Might be cheaper to build one to your own specs.

^ I believe so...if thats the case...I'll slap a Supercharged Honda K20 on it and be done with it. :boggled:

It must have some serious aerodynamics to keep this beauty on the road, the short wheelbase coupled to the mid-mounted engine will make high speed braking really thrilling. :D

Also, it's a real shame it won't get mass-produced ( I mean supercar-like mass production, like 3000 units), but even if they only decide to make 50 of these, it will be enough. 25 will be at Dubai, so we'll never see them again, 15 will be bought by enthusiastic collectors ( Go for it Jay Leno! ) and some will be visitable, 5 will be sold to wealthy guys who know how to handle and treat the car and the remaining five will end up in the hands of footballers and playboys, meaning they'll be totaled within the first two years from the purchase date.

If there is a big demand the people that make the kit car could make a bunch of turn key one off to the buyers specs and it might even be cheaper.

waaaaitwaitwaitwait...

That side-by-side comparo...is the new one the EXACT SAME SIZE as the original!?

If so...Give Lancia a Hand for not pulling a Ford GT on us!

I saw an article today...said the one you see above is a one-off some guy paid Pininfarina to build. Runs a F430 engine, chassis, gearbox. Lancia will be making one though, I think. (I hope!)

Well, it's official....this Stratos has officially become the sexiest thing with four wheels, beating out the AR 8C/Brera, and the AM V8 Vantage.

Dammit. I want one....now.

Well that's certainly a matter of opinion. I'd still take an 8C any day.;)

Are those Lancia-backed sites? Because they are very well built, although hard for me to read in German.

I never noticed it until now, but the Stratos is a really good looking car. I especially like the front end of the new one, except for the sad looking headlamps. I hope I'll get to drive one in a game.

^ No they are not. But with these sites enthusiastically excited on the "New Stratos", they both made a quality site that Lancia itself didn't bother on it.

-> My question is...who really built this New Stratos?

- Pininfarina
- Lancia
- A collaboration of Bertone-Pininfarina-Lancia-Ferrari
- Some group of blokes who just build this car from the skeletons of the 430

^ I need answers before I log this car on my GT5 Vehicle Wish List. :)

I'm not interested any more, I didn't like the F430's sound, and in GT5:P at least it was one of my less favourite cars to drive, since this is just a re-bodied F430 and not a V6 challenger to the Evora and Cayman I couldn't really care less.

The car has been built by Pininfarina in a single model for a german businessman, he also got the other Stratos in Marlboro livery of the pics, as Paulie said the new one is based on a F430 Scuderia.

The fact that it's based on an F430S is very appealing, but I feel it's a 1992 redesign and not a 2010 redesign (the tail, however, is very pretty). The Fenomenon Stratos concept of a few years ago was spot-on though:

I would love to have the new Stratos in GT5. I'm glad they're finally bringing the Stratos back. I wonder if they'll bring back the Delta Integrale.

I actually prefer the Fenomenon Stratos as it's pushing the classic Stratos design forward and added new elements ( like the split windscreen to allow a better view going sideways as the A-pillars are not blocking it ) instead of being a modernised retro version.
Fenomenon actually bought the name Stratos when they realised the copyright used by Lancia had expired.
That's probably the reason they have to call it New ( or Nuovo ) Stratos.:)

Having a better view going sideways probably won't do a modern supercar much good.

If this were sad;

Am I the only one who thinks it's absolutely hideous? It looks like some horrific 90's 'futuristic' car. If they're going to remake it they could at least try and bring it a little up to date.
