Pointless car(s)?

I find some of the racecars pointless. Well, maybe not pointless but certainly frustrating when PD stick in cars that never raced, were only prototypes, only raced once or were unsuccessful over some classics. I'm talking about your Toyota 7s and your Jaguar XJ13s. I'm sorry, I know there are some big fans of them out there but I don't know why you'd put in a car with only 2 years running with limited success (Toyota 7) or a one-off prototype that never touched the track (Jag XJ13).

There's no Maserati 250F nor Mercedes W125, W196. Not enough successful Group C cars; the Nissan and Toyota didn't succeed in the World Championship nor the 24 Hours. I understand it's a Japanese game and there's more appeal domesticly for the Nippon Cars but I'd like to see a Porsche Licence and get the 956 and the 917 in. Ferrari 250 would have been nice, too.

[/Poorly constructed rant]

And yes, having an 'LM' R33 V-Spec to celebrate it's participation in GT Racing when the only special thing about it is the colour is also.. pointless.

I have yet to find a pointless car in this game. I have learned a lot with GT5. There are cars I have never heard of. Those are the ones I focus on now.

I've finally gotten to this point with GT5. It's more about the enjoyment of cars of all types. If you pick up a Car and Driver, the issue isn't filled with race cars and supercars. GT5 is like an interactive library of Car and Driver, where you can drive whatever is on the page.

I'd really like to see more emphasis on the W125's of the world and stuff like that, but they'll get around to it, I think.

Time for my rant...

Pointless car(s)? All the low powered Asian cars that are used to pad the game so PD can claim they have over 1000 cars. It's pathetic! The Mitsubushi i-Miev??? REALLY??? Sure it'd probably be nice to have in real life for getting from point "a" to point "b" economically, but in a racing sim it's pretty pointless.

Also, who needs 40 Nissan Skylines to choose from? Where in this game is there a classic Pontiac GTO Judge from the early 1970's? Where are all the other CLASSIC AMERICAN cars that would actually be fun to drive? There's a few but it's nowhere near representational of the era. What about padding the game with USEFUL cars that people actually want to use for racing? More American classics and more European (current and classics) would have made this game much more enjoyable in my opinion.

There's 40 Nissan Skylines in this game and only 20 TOTAL BMW's. You know, BMW... the car that's taglined as "The Ultimate Driving Machine"... I realize PD is a Japanese company and they are apparently very proud of their country's automotive accomplishments but the imbalance of Japanese cars vs everything else is just ridiculous.

And another thing...

(end rant)

There isn't any useless cars in this game. There's always a car with a comparable HP/weight that will put up a good race. It's just that apparently nobody wants to race the "slow" cars.

I personally think it's fun, and wish more people raced them. Half of my favorites are from 20-300 hp, but nobody likes racing those kinds of cars :(

"Prius/Insight/iMiev" <those "useless" cars would be a fun race to watch :)

Not sure if anyone mentioned this bucket of crap, but this is by far the worst "car" I have driven in a GT game
