It's actually a S60 which is less extreme. Apparently the Volvo factory is nearby according to the Reddit comments

Still, you'd think especially in South MURICA land they'd be more likely to get something like an Explorer or Tahoe, rather than a Volvo. Still an interesting choice

Aspen, Colorado used Saabs as cop cars in the 70s.

I was going to post some police cars here but unfortunately, i wasn't sure if it's the right time to do it.

But to be fair, i will mostly just post old 70's-90's GM/Ford/Mopar sedans and/or trucks so i doubt it's anything interesting for most people here.

In fact, i'm fairly sure i posted 90% of these same cars years ago...

But why am i even interested in these cars to begin with? It's mainly that i have a weird interest in what cars that were sold here and were popular at one point or another. I'm curious about what boxy Datsun, Citroen, Rover or Chrysler did my ancestors drove around and the history behind said cars in the market. It's an odd market as it's a mashup between American, Asian and European car market depending on where you live and what time period was it.
Police cars are just one of them and IMO, it's way more interesting to see an old Ford LTD used in the 80's than seeing some social media "celebrity" posting about some "omg Dubai police Ferrari 4881!11!" when most average police cars used here/there are actually regular American & Japanese cars that's not unlike the ones you find in the States. It just paints a really skewed inaccurate picture and it bothers me to no end. This applies to pretty much everything in my daily life.

In fact, most police cars in the Gulf consists of Chargers, Crown Vic's, Taurus's, Caprice's, Tahoe/Yukon's, Nissan Patrol's, Land Cruiser's, Camry's and maybe something like a Hyundai Kona or GMC Sierra.

Currently, they are testing Volvo Wagons in Kuwait which's unusual considering they mostly use Tahoe's and Chargers nowadays (like i said before):

Wouldn't be surprised if it had to do with fuel economy & handling. Best of both worlds with a crossover.
Possibly, just a bit unusual considering how unpopular wagons are nowadays and how Volvo's are at the bottom of the list in terms of sales across the GCC regions.

If anything, i wouldn't mind a V90 myself.

So today I learned that the Tochigi Prefectural Police in Japan, have just been given a Lexus LC 500 patrol vehicle. This is the same police force that has also received a Nissan GT-R. So much for Han's theory about Japanese patrol cars being slow...

Every other city/country seems to have cool and interesting police cars, while the cops in my town still putz around mainly in W-body Impalas.

Some cars from my country!

When the police apprehends them from drug dealers, they're either destroyed or go to auctions. But even in auctions, no one here has the money to buy them (and those who can afford, wel, they just gonan buy a new one).

So instead of destroying those cars, they were put in active duty.

Challenger RT - Highway Patrol. Sometimes used in escort for politicians. It's currently being used for educational purposes in schools

Recently, Toyota Crown has various information such as "discontinued", "FF", "successor model is SUV" and so on . It is said that there is no police car in the current 15th generation, but information that determines it has come in. "Actually, the standard adopted for police car vehicles is to secure a certain amount of trunk capacity, but the current Crown does not secure that capacity," he said. [Photo] When I looked into the rumored "Mark X Supercharger Masked Police Car" , the police car (wireless police car) had detailed specifications, and among them, "the trunk capacity must be 450 liters or more". There seems to be an item called. So, when I investigated what the trunk capacity of the current Crown is, it is 430 liters, so if you collate the collected information, it is true that the trunk capacity of the current Crown does not meet the specifications as a police car. .. It seems that a certain amount of trunk capacity is required because it is necessary to install various equipment necessary for police activities.
