Regardless of the actual currency conversion... would this be something this community would consider buying into, at around this price range?

If PD scrapped the current (pointless, and stupidly expensive) credits for real money purchases, and issued this instead... would you buy it?

Let's face it, GT6 isn't going to get big money seasonals at this time; not whilst GT5 is still online and GT6 is less than a year old. The only way to gain some real cash is to keep your 200% bonus and grind away at XBull races and/or 'Ring 24 minutes in S class. I personally, have spent enough of my life grinding away for credits on Gran Turismo games. It's been this case on every game, some of them better than others for payouts. As I have grinded away before so I completely understand if people want to and don't mind doing this. :)

I personally would consider it. I wouldn't say "Yes, definitely!" but I would certainly give it a proper think through. It would be a win for PD and Sony also financially if people bought into it. Let's face it they're hardly getting any takers for the current in-game purchases are they!?

I won't pay 30 euros for some in-game money, c'mon I'm not addicted to the game. If it was only 10 bucks I may consider it but really I don't want to spend much money to in-game money or DLC.

As vehemently opposed to the concept of paying to get stuff you should just have access to, I do recognize that there is a price that isn't outrageous. But only $5 less than the game itself costs new is still extreme to the point of parody, even if it is a lot better than the obscene prices they charge now.

Of course, by the price the game now sells for I get your point!
I put the price as it is based on how much I bought the anniversary edition for on pre-order coupled with the stupid prices that the in-game credit purchases are currently at. Hence the £20 price.

I personally don't think that's totally obscene because I spent £60 on the game! However... I should have taken current prices into consideration. (Unlike PD/Sony)

No, certainly not. The whole value system is broken so asking us to pay real money for cars that we should be able to buy in-game is nonsense. This franchise really lost control of car values with GT5 and the insaenl high prices are back in GT6. For example, 15 million for a Lambo Miura is ridiculous. A real Miura sold for a record high 1.7 million. So if the devs want realism, charge 2 million and call it done. Same for the Ferrari 330 P3, real one topped out at 5.7 million, nowhere near the 20 million PD wants us to pay.

So in short, if the car values dropped in the dealership closer to real world prices, then the payouts we get now would be adequate. Fix that, and no need for micro transactions and minimal grinding.

I've got ~100 20mil cars sitting in my garage ready to be sold...as soon as I have a reason to do so...I'm pretty sure I'll be giving them away whenever gifting is reinstated.

I wouldn't even pay 5$. As long as there's an event like the Vettel-Challenge, 50Mio. are grinded quick enough.

@eSZee I'll take some lol.

I will never purchase ingame credits. For me, building up some funds and having to choose between a few possible purchases, and sometimes being unable to decide, is part of the experience. Highlighting Buy but not pressing it as your head says one car but your heart says another is what it is all about!

Hopping straight into the quickest cars in the game doesn't appeal when it is Gran Turismo.

No way I have 2 ps3s one with version 1.1 and and up-to date version with over a few hundred vision cars in there , so I can affectingly print my own credits 20million every-time I sell one car Ching Ching !

Micro transactions are anything but look at real racing on ipad and android

No i already bought the game...

Yea, not a chance. If this is where gaming is going I predict sometime in the near future ET the game will get lots of company.

No way, I do understand why some people might be tempted but as I see it there is no reason to do it at all and if they ever changed the game to require this then I would simply stop playing, never buy another Playstation and move on.

I honestly don't even see why someone would buy credits at this point and also kinda feel bad for users who bought credits before the first couple updates. It is easy to make money in GT6. And actually, come to think of it, I haven't had to do all that much grinding in GT6 either. Just a few RedBull Challenges here and there to buy an expensive car. Dare I say GT6 has the best credit tier of the last few games? Well with the login bonus plus redbull series and online Seasonals, there really isn't much need to buy credits. I mean, one 3 minute redbull race WITHOUT the login bonus and you can afford about 80% of the cars in the game.

Never, there has been only one time I've ever spent real money on virtual money, and that's on a Saltybet subscription, and that wasn't really for the money but for the extra features and to support the site.

I would prefer finding fun ways to grind credits instead, I don't think it takes that long to have all the credits you need either.

I really Don't want to turn this into "That Thread". But If PD gave us B spec, and some more Vision cars, and the course maker. I'd buy the 5$ credit pack as a way to throw them a little bit more of my money.

This is the future!
GTA5 made 66$million in 4 moths with microtransactions and EA are selling time saver packs for the NFS games etc.
Disgusting!

You can gold the seasonals just once and get the money. After that it´s dead meat. So this will not give you much money. 80% of the cars are all cars who have like 10-20 siblings. Great.

Why would you do that? You already paid for it by giving them 60$ for a complete game with lots of promised features. So no need to extra motivate them to give money for being behind schedule... ;)

Great input guys!

The reason why I would be tempted with such an option is this:
I don't have the time to race online very much to get my GT fix. At the moment with the time I have I like to take photos and tune cars. I also drive in TT's at my local GT forum. I've grinded on every other GT for 15 years now. Yes, it is part of the game.

However, being able to have a huge bankroll would save me a lot of time grinding once again.

Really what needs to happen is PD giving us seasonal events that we can run more than once; preferably race events along with the TTs, that reward much bigger payouts. And if for example this would 'ruin' the game for someone starting out, lock these big reward seasonals out until the player has unlocked S class.

This is the future!

This isn't the future... this is the present. EA had time saver packs for Burnout Paradise way back in 2009.

I specifically said RedBull series, which can be run over and over again and average 3-4 minutes per race and over $120,000 per race without a login bonus. Or you can do the championship and get the per race winnings plus $500,000 gold bonus for 25 minutes total, and do as many times as you want. How much more money could people need? Seriously that's a pretty generous handout. In one hour you can make 2.75 million without any login bonus.

No, I'd sooner take that £20 to the pub and hang with my mates for a couple of hours or so.

"I hate microtransactions! They ruin the game by letting everyone cheat!"
"They should sell the maximum amount of money in the game for $10 or less!"

Pick one, guys. Pick only one.

My personal view is that $30 is quite reasonable. If you're in a hurry, then pay up, sucka! But not as much as PD is charging. That's just absurd.

If I had the money, I may consider it but since GT6 doesnt have a 1000 car trophy, there's no powerful reason for me to do so.

I think for £20 $30, they should give you all the cars free, i.e. make them all 0 cr
even £20 $30 for 50mil you still going to need 1000's to get all the cars, which is just stupid.
As standard all the cars should be available in arcade mode.

I'm not a cursing person but I really want to add a colorful word between NO and WAY! :D I don't have much of an issue with DLC for games but microtransactions just kill games for me. To artificially lengthen the time it takes to accumulate money/coins/credits in games to monitize your time and try to get you to pay for it is crazy. I don't like it one bit.

Perhaps PD DOES take into account current pricing?
They way to keep a game profitable after sale price drops, is to charge for DLC.

Tell me this.
You all felt ripped off paying $60 for it new, a few months ago.

Would you feel ripped off paying $60 for it new + 50mil CR, now?
What about $35 for it new + 1mil CR, now?

Would you feel ripped off paying $35 for it new +50mil CR, a year from now?
What about paying $10 for it new + 1mil CR, a year from now?

It's a way for new customers to think "hey I got this game so cheap and I really like it, might as well splash some money for pretend cars"
Of course if you didn't like the game then you'd feel ripped off no matter how much it cost.

All the peasants get defensive when cash cards are even spoke of in video games...

Even though they clearly don't have to purchase them.

Remove peasants with people who have common sense and that be a whole lot better ,

This is a very good point.
