What do you think?

It took some getting used to, but I like it now.

You gotta vote on your own polls man. I like it, and it only took about 3 or 4 cycles for it to show up in my UCD.

Its fun to drive...to me its just like driving a scaled up version of the go-kart.

However I am lost when it comes to the rain. I've won all four events in dry weather, and then when I get to the two rain races, I always end up like 3 laps down in last. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, I can't accelerate anywhere close to what the AI does on corner exits.

You have to change the tyres to wet or intermediate

It is definitely not as responsive as either of the Ferrari F1s. I can't complain though it just takes getting used to.

Well, my first reaction to driving it for the first time was something along the lines of:
Me
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Jeremy sums it up nicely... This was an accurate representation of my face.

It's great fun! :)

I've got a question...What is the difference between the FGT and the Ferrari F1s? I haven't driven any of them yet, but I'm curious as to why everyone talks about the FGT all the time while the other two cars are usually ignored.

Probably because you need the FGT if you want to complete all the races, plus it's cheaper so more people have it? It is harder to find though or was before 1.05 anyway, it was on my screen when the online dealership loaded up the first time.

It's nearly 5,000,000 so I doubt i'll be getting one any time soon. I'm at level 22 and I've never had more than 2,000,000 credits. I always end up buying new cars or tuning the hell out of the stuff I've got.

I bought an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo today, just because I could and it looks amazing

It's an addiction you can never quit.

The ferrari F1 cars are more nimble and somewhat easier to handle in part becaues they aren't nearly as powerful as the FGT.

Acceleration

F2007
F10

FGT

The game does not allow you to use either of the Ferrari cars in A-spec or B-spec modes.
Also, how do you even get the other F1s?

I save up and bought them all. 10 million for the F10, 12.5 million for the F2007, and 4.8 million for the FGT. 27.3 million in all. I definitely put my time in earning cash.

Richard, you should try to fight the urge to buy other cars and get yourself a FGT. It is a beast. Might be the most fun car in the game, unless you're a fan of the x1, which I am not.

Wait til you can do the American Championship. The Indy race is giving out 117k credits a race, and since 1.05 there's no loading time between races..the ultimate grind race to get those credits. My ZR1 RM can do it in less than 3 1/2 minutes.

Back on topic, I voted it's alright. It's a great car, and I can finish the Grand Valley 300km and the Laguna Seca 200mile endurance races in less than 1 1/2 hours. I wish it was premium!! I despise these standard cars and there lack of polygons.

you win an amuse s2000 gt1 by golding the tsukaba 9 hour endurance race in bspec

I just bought a white one from the online dealership (why doesn't it have the Mobil 1 logo from GT4?). I did a quick test at the Nurburgring GP circuit and did a 1:38. The formula one lap record there is a 1:29.4 so I've got a bit of setup work to do. Its a decent car but from the first impression I got, I prefer the feel of the F1 cars from Rfactor.

I don't like it. It's a good B-Spec mule, but aside from that... No thanks.

1) I don't like standard cars.
2) It's not a real car, not even a concept brought along in coorporation with another partner (like the X2010 or the Nike car in GT4)
3) The game basically forces the FGT onto you, by having an FGT only event.
4) Using the Ferrari F1 cars instead would be way nicer for a similar event instead.
5) I prefer racing slower cars anyways, so it's not that enjoyable for me anyways.

With the driving force wheel its just insane, i felt like a real F1 driver :P

:odd:

No way you are doing a 20 lap race around Indy in 3 1/2 minutes. Not even in the X1, let alone the ZR1 RM.
My ZR1 RM does about 51 seconds per lap around Indy.
You are looking at least at a 15 minute race, and more likely around 17 minutes, to compete 20 laps.

I loved the F2007 in prologue. It was fast and you could adjust the downforce to your liking to the point that the car stuck nicely in the corners and had good balance. The FGT on the other hand, is touted in the description as having the best that F1 has to offer without most of the restrictions, to include ground effects. It would seem that it would be better than the F2007 but it doesn't seem that way to me. It's twitchy and tempremental. For a car with reportedly enormous amounts of down force, it slids more than most cars in the game and just lets go kinda like the 370Z did in the Indy Time Trials. In the rain, it's nearly undriveable. It behaves exactly the same way with all 3 compounds of tires (dry, inters and rain) when driving in the rain. Changing tires seems to have no effect at all ? Count me in as one who hates it for lack of a better term. I don't so much hate it as I do the lack luster job the programmers did in programming it. Just one more thing in the game, not thoroughly developed in my opinion.

Also find the engine sound to be quite annoying. Doesn't sound much like any of the F1 cars I've been around and I've been to 8 F1 races :)

I voted for its allright. I finally found one but haven't completed the event yet. I'm having trouble understanding why we would have to use this car in an event instead of the Ferrari's. I'm one of the cockpit fans and am just having trouble devoting time to this car. Will do it eventually.

In A-spec the race is 5 laps, and the ZR-1 can lap the circuit in about 43 seconds :).

Anyway, I hate the FGT. The only car I feel I can't drive properly. It'll snap into understeer and oversteer with no warning. It spins the tyres at every corner. The handling feels dull. It's fast, but far from my ideals of fun. The Group C and LMP cars are excelloent though. At least they feel like (crazily overpowered) cars.

My prejudice is much more simple ... GT is not an F1 game. If I wanted to play F1 I'd do something radical (yeah open-wheeler pun attack :D) like buy an F1 title.

I feel the same about rally too .

So whilst the 'F1' car may be wonderful and I will probably have to give in and get one in the end, I'd really rather not.
