I'm just one of those people that are tired of a game that is supposed to be fun feeling like work. I just want to be able to win enough money to buy all the cars in a reasonable fassion. Now, they have basically taken away are best road around grinding. So now what...I'm supposed to rubberband my $54 controller in place and let my PS3 play itself for a day so that I can get the super expensive cars. Oh what fun! I think if they don't make a reasonable way to get the expensive cars, and a reasonable way to get the UCD cars it will be my last GT sadly. :indiff:

Anyone else feel this way?

No way. I'm not going to buy another Grind Turismo. I have neither time nor energy for this ********, and I actually buy games to have fun with them rather than work for them.

The grinding isn't the issue, that is something people choose to inflict upon them self. It's quite possible to play the game without doing so if yo don't think it's essential you immediately have access to all the games content. I mean it's a game that is meant to last for years, I don't care that 2 months in I don't have the F10 or other exotica, there is years left to earn them in a way that is actually playing the game and fun.

But GT6 sure as hell won't be a day 1 buy for me just like GT5 wasn't, in fact I would probably only now be buying it ready for the academy if it hadn't been a Christmas gift.

We won't know if there is grinding in the game before we have it... and most of us buy it on the first day...

I'll be buying GT6 for sure. This one is rough around the edges, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the series will be like that.

I bought GT3, GT4 and GT5 as pre-order because I was 101% sure I wanted the game.

When GT6 comes out I'll wait about 2-3 months before buying, to see what direction the game is heading. If it has more grinding and more rediculous arcade challenges like the Vettel Challenge (yes I have it Gold but I haaaaaated it!) I'm not gonna buy it, because the frustration I would have from the game would outweigh the pleasure of driving.

However: patch 1.06 was a very very very good patch. Lets not forget that.
I really had the feeling the people from PD listenen to the community.
If more of those patches arrive, if the grinding in GT5 gets fixed, if the car trade limit gets lifted, then I will pre-order GT6 :)

So in short:
The way GT5 went with last patch: no pre-order.
The way GT5 went with 1.06: pre-order.

im pretty sure im not going to get gt6...i didnt get gt3 or gt4...and 5 is a disappointment...not a big dissapointment, but still none the less...in their attempt to make poeple play the game for hours on end, theyve ruined a good game...besides, getting any significant amount of money to buy the cars i want, is going to take so long;...duping and trading seems to be the only viable way to get those cars...especially since i have a family and a life and a job AND other games i like to play;...and i did not buy the game so i have to trade or dupe........correction, BIG dissapointmant...yeah, i can hold out till PS5

I have done absolutely no grinding for cash and no duping or glitching and I have all the racecars I want including a couple of group C cars, a F2007 and three X2010s.

but at the same time how long did we wait for gt5? 4-5 years.....why is there a NEED for ANY patches????

Agreed. They did a great job with 1.06! I'm just tired of still hunting cars. I got the game the day it came out, and have put entirely too much time into the game to still be having to spend more time "working" on it as opposed to actually getting to play it. For the amount of time I've invested I should be able to buy and sell any car in the game with ease. There's nothing better then a great online race with other people, however there's nothing worse then sitting around "grinding" wasting time to get cars. I want to play, not be bored out of my mind, always waiting to be done grinding so that I can finally play. It shouldn't be like that.

I'm going to be more cautious about GT6 and every GT game from here on out in fact, before buying it. I'll come here and see what others think about it, and possibly rent it first as well, before spending $60.

It depends on what games are coming out for me. If gt5 came out this november there would be no way I get it as I would rather have 10 other games like battlefield 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Rage, Batman Arkham City and Uncharted 3 to only name a few.

Exactly. We already had to wait for the game, now we're just waiting for the patches. Always waiting on PD.

Not broken why fixed it. That's why there's Lvl 40 to achieve. If bored then make another user and do it all over again then gift yourself. I will 100% buy GT6 (there's no 101%) my2cents

Grinding is self inflicted due to the fact that people want to get to level 40 yesterday and own all of the cars the day before.

Gran Turismo is not designed for someone to own every single car in the game it never has been. The reason for the amount of cars is they try to have something that everybody will like, I certainly don't want to own some of the cars in the game including some of the 20mil cars. However someone else might really want the cars I don't like and hate the ones I do like as everybody is different.

So you want a problem fixing that isn't really there?

I'd rather PD fix the problems that are there.

And I will be buying GT6 without a doubt as long as I'm still breathing.

After months of dwelling I shall open my mouth about GT5.

I have never played the game, but after reading tuns of articles, watching loads of videos, I can safely say that it's definitely the weakest link out of the 6 major releases.
As I read topics here, most of the game is a grindfest and can be given up easy on, just like GT4 and GTPSP (if you want to collect ALL the cars).
But GT5 isn't just a grindfest when it comes to getting all the major "hyper-super osmium-coated supercar". B-spec is a grindfest as well.

GT5 is definitely an alpha of GT6. Hopefully PD will learn from their mistakes, and think twice before acting.

As catastrophic GT5 is in my opinion, I can't wait for GT6.

See what gets me is that it's said that the grinding "extends the life of the game". To me this is not true. I've been doing the same thing for over 10 years now, the series has had the same basic design since the beginning. However, now you can race online against other real people. This, for me, was the biggest new thing. I'm not interested in spending weeks, and months trying to beat the same crap I've already beat 4-5 times with different graphics and controller designs. I want a large list of cool cars, good driving physics, and REAL people to race against. I waste more time on trying to get cars then actually driving the cars I bought the game to drive. To me, the game will last as long as the online servers run, not how long it takes me to get the cars I want.

Thats your opinion and your entiltled to it.
Others do want every car in the game and dont want to spend a lifetime to get them.
For these people there is a Major problem which PD is about to make worse.
That s my opinion which I am entitled to have.

Please dont try and tell others how they should view this game or anything else.

I was borderline on wether or not to get GT5, but after over a year on FM3 I was ready to try something new. It is a let down, and I probably won't get GT6, unless PD communicates with us while making it and we know the facts of the game before buying.

I'm not trying to tell people how to play the game, if they want to get to level 40 and get all of the cars asap then that's their problem and grinding is the only way so they can't complain really.

I feel like getting all the cars, and getting level 40 are two different things. I'm not really worried about levels, or getting every car in the game for that matter. I do want a way to get the cars I like in a reasonable way. Most of the cars I want now are race cars (over 1 mill) in the UCD. It is unreasonable to have to grind for money all day long, then go back and cycle the UCD for hours more to get the car to come up. This is not fun, it is work.

I will probs stil end up buying it but i will wait to see if they have more events and cars first !

haha!! when GT6 comes along I'll probably have a real Ferrari to play with!

Yeah you've got me on the UCD to be fair, this is a problem in the game that does need fixing at least for GT6.

As for cars I've got a fair few now and still got nearly 10 mil and counting, I'm into remote racing now which surprisingly is earning me a fair bit of cash, it's a shame that it wasn't put in a lot sooner as B spec is a grindfest without a doubt.

I wasn't grouping the level 40 players and the car collectors together, I was covering both options as the grinding argument comes up for both.

The a-spec grinding has made me a much better driver but the 24 hour races definitely need a race save as 24 hours of grinding one race is just toooo much handle.

I couldn't of said it better myself.

👍

GT6? Let them get GT5 out the way first jesus.. the game is only 3 months and a week old.. give the thing a chance :S

it took them many years to make gt5 so why even consider getting better features in gt6 LMAO

I know that I'm assuming that there will be a GT6, and given that if there is it won't be here any time soon.

My point in the poll, was just to see how many other people feel that this has ruined a game to the point were it even ruins a series. I myself am a longtime fan, and have had every game except for GTPSP. The amount of grinding in this game has got me loosing faith in the series.

I spend so much time on the game that when I finally go to bed at night I feel like I worked so hard on it, and didn't even get to actually play it. My feelings are that I want to beat the game ONE TIME, then I want to build a garage with the cars I would like to drive (I should have enough money from beating the entire game one time to have every car I want.), then I want to race online until they decide to make the next game in the series. To me unlimited game lifespan comes from playing online against real people, not grinding.
