can i give you nice little tip? https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=161147

Use this when you go to bed?

its actually safer to keep your PS3 system running hot than switching it off and on again :)

In my first post I mention using this trick. This is not the only aspect of "grinding". It still takes forever to do that, and wastes valuable play time. Not to mention I feel like it has messed up the sticks on my controller. There is no magic trick to make the UCD cycle. You still have to quit a race 5 times or load a license test 5 times. That is grinding too.

Well it runs of the day system so i dont really see any problem with doing a race to get 6 new cars ..

There are over 800 cars that cycle through the UCD. Trying to find the one you want in there is enough to make you pull your hair out. Just ask anyone who had to cycle the UCD to get the Formula GT before they put in the OCD. It is a joke.

i am one.. but it is part and parcel of the game. Yes i got to a point where i needed the car but i just dealt with it as it was. nothing i could do! I finally got 1 and plodded on. like i said, its a part of the game and has been since release, yes it sucks but you learn to just deal with it. I buy nearly every car in my UCD, you get everything you want and need that way :)

Before they can make big-paying races PD needs to improve the AI. The AI are too stupid to race properly in order to make it hard on the player. then they can give $750,000 each for the Ferrari F1 races in the seasonal events.

As it is 198,000 isnt enough for a 16 minute+ race. Most of the Super GT cars are 900,000. Most of the Lemans cars are 4,500,000. Heck the 787B is 5,200,000 and its slower than half the group C cars!! So what they need is some harder A spec races that pay more. The online races pay peanuts. I won several X2010 races today and got 50,000 each at best.

I can work around the UCD now, I finally get back to work on Monday (after being made redundant), so I'm going to stay off of GT5 all week, let my cash build up from remote races (hopefully) and then I'll buy up all of the cars in the UCD on a weekend ... And then repeat ... And then one weekend I'll do the seasonals, and buy up everything in the OCD ... Then I'll gold the remaining two Vettle races and that should give me a nice fortune aswell :)

So fingers crossed I have no more grinding to do on Gran Turismo ever now :D

Not broken why fixed it. That's why there's Lvl 40 to achieve. If bored then make another user and do it all over again then gift yourself. I will 100% buy GT6 (there's no 101%) my2cents
Oh ya? Except they block gifting more than 1 car per day per PS3 and at least attempted to block gifting expensive cars. Ya! Like that make sense.

i use it when im not at home which is now. i put it on at 3PM Yesterday and wont get home until tomorrow night.. i estimated that i will be at 20,000,000Cr with what i currently had.. i do it when i go to bed also!

but yes it is a pain that this is what it has come to but i cant complain, the online play is phenomenal!

"Grinding" for cash wouldn't be such a problem if they kept to the schedule with the Bonus Races, as these are a cash bonanza.

There are a ton of things that really cheese me off about this game (mostly, it's too similar to the previous ones, both good and bad points) but in the end it's up to each user as to how they play and enjoy the game.

You don't need allthe 20 mil cars to have fun - some of my best races have been with the Honda Civic I bought first, or the stealth cars I got as a gift from play.com

It does seem a bit odd though that there's this huge gap in xp from 35 to 40 and all you can really do is tie your ps3 up for days on end running la sarthe 24 hours. But only if you're an anal retentive completist! Same goes for getting all the cars/trophies/whatever else there is to collect.

I suggest people find the bits of the game they like and then stick with that.

I recommend using the remote racing if you aren't already, Iv'e only started it a few days ago with a few friends and they've earned about 1 mil so far, they've mostly been raced today so most of the money has come today. You have to leave your PS3 on if you start a race but your friends can use your bobs at anytime as long as you share them. Try it out and see what you think, it will save you having to do it yourself.

probably get it, depending whats out or if ill still be bothered playing games much at that time(2 weeks till im 26, but ill probably be in my 30's before gt6 comes out  )

I'm just one of those people that are tired of a game that is supposed to be fun feeling like work. I just want to be able to win enough money to buy all the cars in a reasonable fassion. Now, they have basically taken away are best road around grinding. So now what...I'm supposed to rubberband my $54 controller in place and let my PS3 play itself for a day so that I can get the super expensive cars. Oh what fun! I think if they don't make a reasonable way to get the expensive cars, and a reasonable way to get the UCD cars it will be my last GT sadly. :indiff:

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes. 👍

I haven't tried remote racing yet, but it just doesn't really appeal to me. I don't like the B-spec. Thinking about it now, I remember liking the B-spec in GT4. Mainly because you could fast forward it, making money faster then you could in A-spec. This could possibly be a fix for grinding if done properly, but B-spec would have to be FF capable, and have good payoff.

Grinding is self inflicted due to the fact that people want to get to level 40 yesterday and own all of the cars the day before.

Gran Turismo is not designed for someone to own every single car in the game it never has been. The reason for the amount of cars is they try to have something that everybody will like, I certainly don't want to own some of the cars in the game including some of the 20mil cars. However someone else might really want the cars I don't like and hate the ones I do like as everybody is different.

So you want a problem fixing that isn't really there?

I'd rather PD fix the problems that are there.

And I will be buying GT6 without a doubt as long as I'm still breathing.

I still own every other GT game. I like to collect the cars and race time trials. I can take 1 track and spend the entire day on it tinkering with 30 different cars and all the different subtleties of both the cars and the tracks. I would also race an entire series over and over to get all the different prize cars and color variations in past iterations of the game. License tests always also meant something to me. I still remember how I felt when I golded the final S license test in GT3 (Toyota GT1 on cote d'azur for those who still wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it :))We play the game differently and for me this game has a serious problem in allowing me to play the game I always have and the way I want to. This is what has kept me playing this game for years and now hoping they get this fixed so no GT6 will not be a no brainer for me this time around. PD has some serious issues here in the way I like to play the game and collect cars.

I don't care anymore if they take away trading, I want to be able to collect all the cars the way I want to. Grinding was tolerable in past games because you knew you were going for a specific car / color and could sell copies to get more of the cars you want within a reasonable time frame.

However my opinion on this is no different than yours...it isn't worth a damn to someone else and the way they like to play the game.

I really do love this series but GT5 to me is more alien than any other iteration of the game...again to me. To each their own

B-spec could do with ff for sure, the remote racing though if you've got enough friends who use it regularly they should use your bobs in their races without you doing anything, then now and again return the favour and you use theirs, I didn't think so at first but the past few days iv'e come to realise that the potential is massive as long as it doesn't die off of course.

By the sounds of it you don't have a bob setup yet, set one up and people should race with him, I've set one up on my girlfriends account and used him in my races, after about 5 he's now up to level 14 and she can recruit 2 more bobs which can earn more credits.

Hi

I won't buy gt6 if I need to buy a ps4 to play it on. But I might if it comes out in time for it to run on the current ps3.

I do think they could have made the game alot better as gt4 had so many more championships & not separate a & b specs. Also on the races where you selected a track of your choice you used to be able to alter how hard the race would be.

I haven't played the previous games for years now so I've forgot most of the things in them tbh.

This is another problem with the prize cars which can only be won once and not being able to sell them, I do remember that you could win one of three different cars in one race in the past games, it was a good thing.

While were on this subject you can't sell some cars that you buy, what's all that about?

I know birksy. I really hope they fix it. A bit more tweaking. I hope really do hope they will address these in future updates

It was also nice when you could re-win the prize cars, which also made the races more profeitable. I remember winning cars repeatedly in other GT's that I could sell for more money then you can even win from one race in GT5. That's not even including the prize money from the race.

Give us a big money race, that gives us a car we can sell for more big money. Then figure out a way to make all UCD cars available all the time.

I'll wait to see the reviews.

I won't preorder it, unless there are pre-release reviews that show that the issues are fixed.

The broken XP/Credit system, the lack of races, and the lack of any real "game" are deal breakers for me.

So true. As I've already said, all that is important to me is building a garage of the cars I want and like (not worried about having every single car in the game), and racing online. There is no "game" in this game as far as GT Life and Arcade modes go.

Why does it have to be such a chore to get the cars I want?

its a little bit annoying the grrinding thing but i still enjoy dhe game and i love the graphics !!

So definetly yeees ;)

and i love the graphics !!

see the graphics have never really overly impressed me ... i never got why everyone got so excited about them, maybe im expecting too much but like the rest of the game it all could of been a bit better ... all GT5 is is 200 pretty looking cars ...

Like what was said on the first page. I'm going to wait a month or so after GT6 comes out and see what people are saying. As of right now i'm not getting GT6

Ofcourse there have been many disappointments with GT5, the issue of grinding being one of the major ones. However I seem to keep being won over by the other aspects of this game.

So I would simply have to buy GT6 and hope these have been fixed in it!
