If "grinding" isn't fixed, will you still buy GT6?

ABSOLUTELY ! Gran Turismo FTW !

I prefer the first 50% (or so) of the game anyway (in GT3, GT4, GT5P & GT5). i'm more likely to start GT5 2 or 3 times than go for the final10-20% of game completion

I can appreciate that they tried to make griding less boring by creating b-spec, but a lot of us...my whole crowd in my aread don't have the circumstances to do it. Wife wants the tv half the day. I don't mind grinding a little bit to get what I want, like the F1 car is prologue ($2,000,000 I think) but there is a huge differece between $2m and $20m....and there are more than one car that with a price tag of $20m.

I'm going to be severly dissappointed if PD decides to cowtow to the world gt5 players whose time is unlimited.

I suggest people find the bits of the game they like and then stick with that.

That'd be a great idea, but I can't find a bit I like now. B-Spec was the bit I liked most... but now... *sigh*

I have the endurance races left in A-Spec, and the final 24hr race in B-Spec, that I am having to grind other endurance races to unlock. I am guessing that it will take about 15 or more, 24 hour La Sarthe races to get there. 15 days watching cars go round the same track... show me the person who considers that enjoyable.

In fact, show me the person that can justify sitting in front of their PS3, doing absolutely nothing but the occasional button press, for 30 days. Because that's what it would entail for a person to actively monitor 15, 24 hour, B-Spec races. Even that is a 12 hour on, 12 hour off schedule... for a game!?! The 24hr races are the wrong side of borderline irresponsible. The health and power usage implications alone, make them like that.

The restricted seasonal events are good, the unrestricted ones are as bad as the A-Spec events. The special events are merely mini-games, there is no substance to them, so they're pointless. The licenses are irrelevant for anything other than getting the 100% gold trophy.

As a game designer myself (for 25 years), I cannot begin to tell you how appalled I am at some of the design decisions in GT5. If someone can play your game, without actually being in front of their console, then your game is broken... that's a simple design fact.

All PD can do now is patch the game, and a game that needs patching, was unfinished when it went on sale. I'm just glad I didn't buy GT5 new, so they don't get the message that I think it's okay to release a game in that state. Buy GT6? Not for at least 6 months after release... if it ever gets released that is.

I couldn't agree more. Five years and the game still gets released unfinished.

BigYoSpeck, yup! You hit it on the head. Actually, I'm thinking of re-starting the game and banning myself from using Bobs to gain me credits. Yes, I know I just posted on another thread that I have a Bob gaining me credits right now, but I wonder if part of the challenge of this game is to earn the credits that very, very slowly allow you to buy the cars that you dream of driving.

I have purchased every version of GT. I always try to beat the game as fast as possible and acquire the cars I want as fast as possible then I go back and redo the parts I enjoyed most and try out different cars. Some versions of the series have a lot more re-playability than others. In this version I see myself lapping Nordy in different cars, replaying the FGT series and that's about it. It's a shame that the seasonals expire, some of those have been replay worthy.

I'm still having tons of fun with the game and if they happen to eliminate this "level up" system, I'm definitely going to run down to the store at midnight, again, just to buy GT 6.

I laugh how if someone doesn't like a certain portion of a game it's incomplete, Better go check maybe I only got 75% of my disk...

Just wish I didn't need to spend over $100 for a controller/setup for some of the challenges to be worthwhile. Some of them with a DS3 makes my brain want to explode.

The problem is unless they micky mouse the handling model, a more precise wheel is always going to golden shower a controller.

A more suitable solution would have been the have different goals based on the controller you use.

For me a wheel takes a lot of the grind out of the grind. Playing with a controller quickly becomes boring, you just don't feel that immersed. Behind a wheel though every lap can feel different and with the immersion factor playing it is not a chore but reminds you why you want to play it in the first place.
