I play regularly (not every day, but a few times a week).

I use a Thrustmaster Ferrari Controller. Found it on clearance at Meijer and I like it better than a DS3.

Oh yeah, the wheel is great. It really opens up this game. The ff in my G25 is so beneficial.

Wheel only for me.

5-7x/wk. Wheel 95%, pad 5%. Tried other games but always keep going back to gt5. its a game that will keep getting better and closer to reality.

I go back and forth there wasnt a place where you could pick both

I recently came back to GT5 after the patch. Previously I had been playing Netkar Pro, iRacing and then more recently F1 2011, then the GT5 2.0 patch came out and I got back into it.

GT games are the kind of games I will play on and off for years, I played GT4 again last year (was playing with a pad then) before buying a wheel specifically ready for GT5, then got sucked into GTR2, Rfactor and iRacing while waiting for it to be released.

Also play with both.

Play with the DFGT when I'm in a serious room with top class racers and the DS3 when I'm mucking around or racing casually.

I actually use both, the wheel for racing and DS3 for drifting, you need to edit the poll I'm sure that I'm not the only one

I'm still playing GT5 on the regular. 👍 DualShock 3. I'm currently trying to shave off 3.5 seconds for the gold in the Suzuka Vettel Challenge. 👍

I used a DS3 up to level 30 and thought I could do much better so invested in a T500 RS and a GTxtreme cockpit and will never go back to DS3. The game is a simulator so to get the most out of this game you really need to experience a good wheel to know what your missing.

Play with a DS3 because I don't have space for a seat and wheel.
It would be nice if there was a group/forum/online races only for us who play with DS3. I tried the wheel once, and right away I was a second faster on my laps. I see my self as a pretty good DS3 driver :sly:

It's amazing how fast you can go with the ds3. The only thing it lacks is throttle control.

So In a 4wd/FWD car I can pretty much equal my wheel pace.

I'd love to use a wheel but cant really afford one, been lookin at a driving force gt since i had a go on it and loved it but cant justify spending so much on one.
Still great with the DS3 tho and thats why ive done over 15000 miles and counting since release.

Still playing. With a DS3. I would like to have a wheel but it would take too much space and most of the time I use my PS3 I'm in bed and that's a bit hard with a wheel :D

I have played every day nice release with a ds3. And after losing all my data I restarted again. Enjoy the game and have now gone from automatic gear change to manual lol.:)

Tried a wheel back when GT3 came out. Hated the wheel. Never tried another. Still playing more than a few times a week, still using the trusty old DS3.

I'm considering a DFGT, though.

I had a very bad experience on GT4 with a crappy wheel, got a DFGT for GT5 and it is amazing..... dude you need a wheel.... DFGT should be minimum spend.... otherwise thrustmaster rs or Logitech G27

I still love GT5, and play almost every day. It drives the wife crazy (which is another reason I play!!!!)
no wheel here though, DS3 forever!

My Logitech G25 was bought in late 2006 (back when it was first released) and it's still going strong.
I mostly use paddle shifters though, so the weakest feeling part of the set - the shifter - hasn't taken much punishment over the years.

As for wheel vs. pad - there's no way in hell I would ever consider playing a sim or "semi-sim" on any platform with a pad unless I was forced to do so.
Hell, even some pure arcade racers can benefit greatly from wheel implementation - such as recently happened with Motorstorm Apocalypse (I'm probably slower in that game with a wheel, but it sure as hell improves the driving experience tremendously).

I've played gt nearly every day since gt1, that's like 15 years or somthing! Always used controller, would love to try a proper wheel set up but just not practical as my ps3 is in main living room. Do they realy improve lap times?
