Well, after testing at Grand Valley in my NSX, I have determined what strategy I am going to take into the race.

I have a fair idea of what's happening, but if anyone has any tips or suggestions for the series, I'd be happy to hear them.

Well, you'll win. Even if you were crap (which you aren't) the NSX will smash the competition to bits. ;)
 
Yeap. The NSX is a good car to run this series, but it will still cream the competition. Good luck SandStorm 👍
 
Go for it. Who's the AI hotshoe? 350Z, or somebody else?
 
Don't aim to pit any more than twice. lap 7 and 14 or lap 10 are good strategies.
 
Easily the fastest way is to put T2's on and don't pit.

I ran this challenge (SS R5 II & NSX Type R) a few months back, and as you can see, the top 11 all used this strategy.

BTW dont use an nsx if u want a close race, u want to samsh em use it
 
polyphony digital is for some really great cars...including the F094/S...save before you do the last race and if i'm not mistaken, this is a "normal car only" race right? well if it is, take all the upgrades off the toyota gt1 road car...thats how i did it and i won in one night.

No idea - I haven't started the race yet. Should start it in a couple of days at the most, I'm still working on some settings.

Nah, I prefer a bit of a close race. Although from what i hear about the NSX, I might still have a good buffer at the end of each race. :D
 
actually you'll have a nice big buffer :lol: try something a little less quick and the races will be much more rewarding



in my opinion that is...:)
 
run the whole series in the camaro ss. race for points to win the series, and if you place second of 3rd in some races, come back in the nsx later and clean up. its more fun to race when you actually have the chance of losing.

when the oil light comes on at the last couple races it will be tough to scrounge up enough points to win the series.

BTW, try and get a series without the 350z, i am fairly sure it would kill you. I raced against the rx7 rz and rx7. It was a very good matchup. carry enough speed through the corners and use the torque to pass them in the straights.

also try and pit the same number of times as the standard rx7(on most tracks the rx will pit one extra time on the last lap). no cheating by using slicks.

the NSX was for mine, it thrashed the rest while i nearly lapped them all in the cerbera.

I tried the Camaro SS, at least in testing. However, I ended up using the Cobra R because it got more even tire wear. The Camaro was awfully hard on the outside front tire. Lap times were similar between both cars so I'm sure it could be done in the Camaro if you are gentle on the tires.

The 350Z only beat me at SS R11-R, which is absolutely my worst track in the game. Everywhere else I won by 5-50 seconds. He was the dominant 2nd-place AI, though.

I originally started out on T2s with a single pit after lap 10, but I switched up to T3s and a 7-14 split just to make the racing more interesting. I won the first race or two easily, but it was lonely - I was never anywhere near the competition. It got a lot closer during the race (if not at the end) when I stopped more like the AI did.
 
For even better competition, use an R33 Skyline on T3 tires.;)
 
I used a Nismo 400r and killed the NSX S-Zero. I did seven races and skipped the rest and won the F1. Then finished the races off in my GT-One road car. Other AI hotshots were Mazda RX-8, Nissan 350z, and Corvette Z06
 
At the time i couldnt care less about close racing (i do now though!) so i used the R390 road car and wiped the floor with 'em all

I didnt think you could set up your car for this series (except for tyres), of course its been that long since i had a go in it i could be mistaken (as rare as that is :p :D )

The GTS-R will smoke the competition......why not make it hard!!??

Use the GT-R.....its far more fun.....

I dunno, I just won the Viper and I wanna put it into use. I should Of never tuned my green/blue NSX. I think I'll use my Vanquish since its BIG and slow. But I have a long time to make the choice because I get the PS2 back on May 22nd.

I went back and used the S15 Nissan 200SX (around 230 hp) on medium hard tyres, close racing with the 350Z. I might try it in the S14 200SX or the R32 GTS-t next
 
I'm resurrecting this one because I thought I'd give the PD Cup a go. Since it's equally difficult to attain any F1 car, I thought I might as well shoot for the F094/S.

Well, I'm in the Ruf CTR2, and I'm creaming the competition. I'm using T1's so it's easy to get 9-12 laps per set, which usually means only one stop for tires.

I'm annihilating the competition, which is rather boring, but since winner-take-all (50K per race), I darn sure want to make sure I'm the winner.

The tirewear is far heavier in the back, not a big shock, but the car is a lot of fun to drive once the rears get to yellow or orange.

So far, I'm 6 races in, and only the Corvette Z06 is a challenge on the road (except it pits every 3-4 laps), and the NSX Type S Zero is my closest competitor in the races.
