Pontiac Pics

Nice! I really want that car.....but I dont see myself going for it. It looks like a really fun car though.

Why does the car in the game look like a hard top, but in real life, its a convertible?! Nice shots though. 👍

Going by that theory then the Vibe is "american muscle" :yuck: 👍

The GTO is still made in Aus....the vibe is made in Fremont CA USA....

The GTO is not made in Aus...the Holden it is based off of is. The Vibe is nowhere near american muscle. The GTO was a muscle car in its introduction in '64 it still is today.

Are you sure? From what Ive been told...its manufactured by Holden, in Elizabeth Aus. About the vibe...I was giving ya a hard time.

"In case you didn't already know, the GTO has been an Australian import since 2004. Pontiac would hope that you forget that fact, explaining that we live in a smaller world than ever, made even smaller by the internet. During development, Pontiac's USA staff worked with Australian-based designers on the car through videoconferencing technology into its own division called Holden. The GTO assembly line is in Elizabeth, Australia where the Holden Monaro is manufactured. Both cars are built on Holden's Commodore sedan chassis having design roots dating back to the early 90's. Here's a new twist, though. This "news flash" just in: Industry journal Automotive News says GM is considering moving future GTO production to Michigan. That is already causing a stir down under. The Sydney Herald newspaper's "Drive" section had a headline on the subject warning "HANDS OFF OUR MONARO!". If GTO and Monaro assembly duties were moved to the USA, it seems that Australian car fans would take it personally."

some of MY GTO :D

the other one its just on 2 wheels.. front left and rear right. lol

btw-- the GTO is the Holden Monaro, both owned by General Motors-- they had the right to take the design and put it elsewhere.. in this case, trying to get some buyers into pontiac dealers, because of the lack of sales, which is the same hope for the solstice & saturn sky.. they're built as a sales-boost for the dying brands, which is why they're going to combine saturn and pontiac dealers...

Ok, I stand corrected. Sorry for any confusion

I know the GTO is a monaro, and I agree with importing it. Did you know that saturn is going to start using Opel (also GM) and rebadging them as saturns? Trying to breath new life into a slow line. Saturns are going to start looking good. :)

totally agree with u right there.. which means that they can share the opel aftermarket as well :)

Did you guys know the holden monaro and the new gto have the same underpinnings as the hapless Caddilac Catera ? I was pretty suprised.

hey JTsnooks
those 3 pics of the red Goat playing with the Pagani are sick! 👍

Thanks! It was hard to go slow enough to keep him in sight :sly: Anyway, are they really going to combine Pontiac and Saturn dealers!? I hope not. And Pontiac isn't exactly a dying brand. If I remember correctly, its sales are number 2 for GM behind Chevy. They have some excellent cars, also. The GTO is to provide a semi-replacement for the F-body Trans Am and Camaro until the market is ready for them to return. Also, there were (until the Zeta platform got cancelled) do release a completely new and original GTO in 2007 not based off the Monaro. Eck, Saturn. I never have liked them :yuck: Here's to Pontiac Power and the beautiful Solstice :D

lol ^ sounds like me & the TVR or the uhh.. Mercedes race-car..umm... this one:

I believe the one in the game is the original concept while the one in real life is the official product about to be released.

Yeah, the real one is a convertible, but I've heard there are plans to release a coupe also.
As for the burnout, there's a secret to it. If you watch the replay in fast forward, you get two or three times the smoke. And what's better than a classic GTO doing a burnout? :D Try it on El Capitan, it's ridiculous :dopey:

mrplo, i know that, i was giving an example of something.. i already posted mah gto on the 1st page :P
