I think Audi's current run is 5 straight wins, they won the three years from 2000 to 2003 but Bentley won the 2003 race, so they have won it 8 times i the last 9 years but they've only managed 5 consecutive wins so far.

Hey Arvin, I was at LRP and the track looked great, also I might be going up to Mosport for round 9. Here are some pics I took.

All of the reasons given for Porsche not being in GT seem a little weak to me.

Nice pics! Looks like you had a blast!!! I'm sure you'll enjoy Mosport...take LOTS of pics!

Anyway, we had a nice race today at Mid Ohio. I'm not going to say anything other than that for those who'll be watching the race tomorrow on NBC...

audi has 8 wins? coming up on ferrari who have 11 IIRC aren't they?

Boy that'd be awesome, a rivalry for supremacy between Porsche and Audi... I wonder how hard it'd be to get the current RS Spyder up to P1 standard?

Audi has 8, Ferrari has 9, and Porsche has 15.

Audi's got a long way to go. At the very least, they'd have to win every Le Mans from 2009-2015 just to tie Porsche. And seeing how 2015 is 7 years away, Porsche, Ferrari, Peugeot, or even anyone for that matter could produce something that could dominate the R10.

I'm a Porsche fanatic. At least for the classic 911's. (got a '79 911 SC)
Sure hope, that if Porsche will join the game, they will also have some classics...
Now that GT5 is delayed, I think they should at least try...

Reventon: Porsche has 16 Overalls at Le Mans:
1970, 1971, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998.

They have 15. Dauer is credited for the 1994 win.

Yes, but it was Norbert Singer, Porsche's senior engineer, who approached Dauer when he saw the loophole in the rules...Porsche also provided a lot of assistance to Dauer into turning the 962 into a "roadcar" so that it can be entered in the race.

I'm pretty sure that it can be seen as a victory in the factory's and a lot of people's eyes.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. I wasn't implying the GT-R to go away, I was just saying that it'd be cooler to have a 430 vs. GT3 race instead of the GT-R they currently have on Prologue. Ferrari against Porsche has always meant really great racing for me and I'd love to see that represented in GT. Plus, neither car is 4WD.

Yeah, Ferrari vs Porsche will bring on a load of amazing battles, but I really don't think they'll make them this game because of all the other new features being added. Although the full game has been pushed all the way back to 2010 I really don't think it'll happen. Maybe in Gran Turismo 6.

I think we will see Posches in GT5. Kaz implied that they will be in the game (no official confirmation, but still...), and in terms of amount of work, it's just making a handful of cars more, or skip some others to bring them as a download later on. PD knows that the introduction of Porsche could significantly boost the sales of GT5, so they will put a lot of effort to have them ready in 2010.

If they bought them in this game I would think it would be downloadable, like you just said.

And could you post a quote of where you heard this, or maybe just the name of the website?

No no, you misunderstood me. I think they will bring Porsche cars directly with GT5. Also, I suppose GT5 will feature car downloads, so they might offer us more cars after the release of the game. That said, they could easily ditch some already programmed cars for later download and replace them with Porsches to come directly with the game.

Oh I know what your talking about now. You mean that they may bring Porches straight away and then add downloadable cars later. That way, it'll be an easier and more sophisticated way of adding these extra cars, great.

Edit Blooming hell I read that interview in a magazine and totally forgot about it.

I would love to see 911 SC-RS from the 80's..and some other classic porsches. the new ones are just too bland.

While I'll agree that the older models have more character and are generally more raw, the Cayman S is far from bland. I've met GT3RS owners that track the CS and raves about them just as much as the GT. (I'm not nearly as handy as they are behind the wheel, so I'll take their word).

Polyphony Digital can't put Porsches in the game until they make a relationship with the company, that's how they got Ferrari in the game.

I think the relationship is there , it is just a matter of how much ( $$$$$$$$ ) for the licensing rights for usage of cars. I feel quite sure Porsche and Lambo would like to see their cars featured in such a fine game,it's just a matter of which sides are willing to give and take over the price.

However, the greatness of the Carrera GT and the 996 gt1 notwithstanding, I somehow have a softer spot for the RUF CTR3/RT12.

So I won't cry if there's not Porsche.

This is exactly the sort of attitude that allows PD to not include such a historic marque. And that would be a shame. As much as I love Ruf, they never made balls out racing cars like Porsche.

962 + Daytona, Le Mans & Nurburgring = Pure heaven!

So because we aren't cryng our eyes out for Porsche, They aren't including them? Why does everyone feel like Every racing game needs Porsche? GT has done well without Porsche for 10 years. Its not like people are gonna die if they aren't there.

Are you serious? Porsche and racing go hand in hand. What manufacturer besides Ferrari can match what Porsche has done in motorsport?

And? That's terrific and great for Porsche, but all of that isn't going kill anyone if Porsche doesn't show up in GT5.

True, but if you go by that logic, no one's going to die if GT5 were full of Camrys, but that's beside the point isn't it?

I'm just saying that NO racing game is really complete without Porsche. And I bet you, PD would agree.

And what proves that no racing game is complete without Porsche? GT has lived 10 years, hitting Greatest Hits with nearly every title, and it still has yet to include Porsche.
