Guys,

let me be one of the ones trying to inject some positivity into the GT6 experience.

I don't get it really. What is all the negativity about? Yes there are things that definitely could go better in the development and communication of the latest GT installment but look at what we get! and for what price! first of all:

to me GT6 is a totally different experience than GT5. How they changed the physics makes me enjoy driving with every single car so much more. The response, the feel of the weight n suspension, the limits of grip,... only for this change to me, buying the new game is worth it. Isn't that what the game is all about since the very beginning? the difference in experience between all those amazing vehicles and how we can have a great time by trying to unleash and at the same time control those beasts?

let's talk about the gaming experience. Yes, the career mode is a quick fix. the AI is nothing. the challenge is none. true. so what? who cares? my son is 8, he seems to like it... and for me, there is online. I ve joined this truly amazing GT6 community with guys that are into the same clean and ultra real driving experience and we are driving/competing together for hours and hours, which makes me want to improve my performance so i go try beat my ghost in arcade mode. There are so many GT clubs out by now. Just find your fit and enjoy!

Oh the online experience isn't smooth? people can't join or get kicked? we've just run a 6 weeks championship. people from the UK, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, all together. Yes we had some issues (which are often related to the setting of the home router) but still we were able to run the race every week. We even did some races with US guys in the same room. Yes it happens that it s difficult but instead of focusing on that, we focus on what is there. So many great races. And we ask PD kindly to keep working on it, keep searching for solutions to make it all better. And I'm sure they are working their asses off to do so.

look what they did guys: look at every single track in the game. how they got the atmosphere right. look at mount panorama. brands hatch. almost all of the most exciting circuits all over the planet are here together.

what is the problem with car duplicates in the game? whatever, does that matter? if you don't want to use them, just don't buy them. I like to experience or try to experience the difference between a '89 or '91 mx-5. I like to experience the evolution a brand makes when adding another update to a certain car. To me it adds depth.

I've played GT6 for about 200 hours by now. At €75 that's one hell of a cheap hobby. Imagine you going to 100 movies of 2hrs length, that would cost me like €700. every update they made till now has been for free! and more is coming.
What are people complaining about we only had 1 VGT? lucky us! that means we'll possibly have a lot more. the slowness adds to the durability and excitement. not the immediate consumption of the excitement and then getting bored but the long term excitement of looking forward to maybe be able to drive a creation a complete team of the best people on the globe have been working of for weeks! Are you guys aware of what they are actually doing? For each brand, there is a whole team of top engineers and designers working their soul out their body to come up with a truly unique concept, ready for the future and we can experience that! this is body and soul united and I love it.

I don't get the negativity. really. I'm enjoying this game to the max and I'm eagerly looking forward to more enhancements they make to the game.

Go ahead PD, don't give up at delivering even more stunning updates and products! we appreciate what you are doing.

My ADD won't allow me to read it all, but in response to the career mode having no challenge I beg to differ.

It's there, you just have to make it happen. For example stay 100pp below the allowed amount and only use CH or CM tires on anything below exotics. Oh and don't forget to use proper race craft.

What I found was the rubberbanding was actually welcomed especially on tracks with corners I don't know well as it allowed for close finishes and a few restarts to get 1st.

To each their own, but the challenge is what makes it fun for me.

I would like to see an optional feature that directed you to purchase pre-determined car(s) for the corresponding race series that provided a real challenge and complemented the AI field.

Call it what you will, slap some stars, bonus credits, or trophies for using the feature and make it a challenge so it's something to be proud of once completed.

Well said. I guess I'm not the only one that's sad about this 'self entitlement' group of people. That's such a bad attitude to have. Whatever happened to just appreciating things/being grateful ?

On a side note, and it's probably been mentioned, but all the haters - if you truly hated GT6 that much - you wouldn't play it. You would be playing IRacing or another SIM..but your not. Your busy playing this game for hours a day, and posting about how it's terrible. That is, however, a great oxymoron.

Listen, I get it. GT6 is not awful. It's actually pretty good in alot of ways. What I don't get are posts like this acting like people who are mad about advertised features not being implemented yet are some kind of entitled kids just whining because they aren't getting their way. That attitude is worse than the worst "ZOMG teh GT6 suxors" people.

GT6, or any other game for that matter, is not some gift to be appreciated. It is a consumer product, no different from any other. They are purchased with a expectation that they work and deliver on what's promised. Sorry to break the news, but to this point, GT has failed to deliver on it's promises. That is what people are upset about. They are NOT some whiny entitled brat like you people who I guess just choose to ignore the unmet promises keep trying to paint them as.

Want to end all the whining and complaining? Then stand together with the other GT fans (and yes the complainers are fans of the game just like you) and force PD to deliver on all the stuff they were all to eager to promise and promote before they had our cash in their wallets. PD/Sony are multi-billion dollar corporations, with armies of attorneys. They don't need or care about your defense.

and force PD to deliver

People who think posting on GTP that they are unhappy with whatever about that game, is going to expedite/change the process that the developer has, is living in a dream world.

You are acting like, if you start a topic about being unhappy about whatever, PD will rectify you with a dignified response in haste and fulfill your wishes. Dream world.

I swear, I wonder where all these people are who just seem to be willing to take it, and keep taking it, from these companies are every day. I never seem to get people I can just make up stuff and take their money and never deliver on come into my place of business. Oddly enough, if I make a customer a promise I have to follow through and deliver. In a timely fashion even. I know, crazy right?

Are you saying you ran an entire championship and not a single person encountered a race breaking pits bug (no options / limited options ) even once? Sorry I don't believe that for one second.

Great thread, but let's not turn it into one in which we marvel over those that have said to have given up on the series.... Fact is that even the harshest critics that claim to have given up on the series still find themselves in this very forum regularly talking about this very game STILL....Besides, we'd rather not have them strolling in here with their usual...So there's that.

On a Lighter note. I Love the content we have been given since launch. I still find myself throwing the M4 around in drift lobbies and stock circuits. I still hotlap my VGT's and FT-1 every day. Matterhorn is rapidly climbing up my list of favorite tracks (Hat's off, PD....Hat's off). I've completed all of Lord's challenges, but EVERY New car I buy HAS to have it's maiden voyage at goodwood (it's a ritual  ) Games lineup since December: GT6-GTAV-GT6-GTAV-GT6-Final Fantasy-GT6 is usually the daily order.... I LOVE IT!!!

I will make one reply to my original post and then I leave it to what you guys make of it.

My intent was simply to show what positive attitude can do. I believe this positive attitude influences both the gaming experience and the flow of making GT6 a better game. There is no judging others with different opinions or any kind of bitterness or whatever in the original post!

Please answer my question

If you can dance around in the flowery field with your head in the clouds attitude good for you. But it's hard to stay positive when constantly slapped in the face by things like this. (and yes I try to persevere and still play)

Hurray! This ís the we love GT forum... :gtplanet:.... And everyone who has an account here loves GT... 👍

Hi MrSulu, I did write the answer already in my first message. yes we sometimes did have issues in the lobbies. people getting kicked, lap times going up after pit stops,... it's just how we deal with it.

don't worry i'm not the head in the clouds type btw...

Please answer my question

Your question was initially answered in the OP. 👍

I was looking for something more specific, but the general "yes" will do.

Fair enough, If you can live with it nice one. I try to aswell, yet there is always a good few people in our lobbies who's race is effectively ended by bogus pit options :(

Crack on with the positive vibes I will leave it at that

Well, there is some. Just because someone has a complaint, does not make them some kind of crybaby. Which is the implication you're making.

What is everybody crying about?

what is everybody crying over the fact that there are car duplicates in the game?

hi MrSulu,

indeed, let me be a little bit 'more specific' ...
first things first: we are really looking forward to the moment the pit bug n server issues are thoroughly solved!!! And I agree these issues can really put an end to the fun for any single race...

now what is the basic approach:
1.we drive with full damage ON. the idea is that, like in a real life race and next to your own personal skills and concentration, there can always be some kind of external factors that ruin your race. someone crashing into you, the pit crew making a mistake, engine or mechanical failure,... so in the GT6 case being kicked out of the room equals mechanical failure, the pit bug equals pit crew issues.

2. the points given for the different finish positions are not spread out too much. so that, when your race was ruined by any technical problem, you are not put behind too much in the overall standings.

3. sufficient points are given for fastest lap and pole position. so even if your race is ****ed you can still score points by setting a fastest lap.

4. another idea is to have 2 races on every track (with eventually reverse grid), so that the risks n points are divided.

5. just never give up when **** happens, it can happen to the others too.

I have to say in our experience the server and pit bug issues were quite manageable. It has happened but not on a regular every race basis.

Hats off to ya, some nice workarounds there.

Stay away from Monza, we have noticed that track above all others, pit stop bugs happen for us 100% of the time, other tracks not so sure, should make a list really.

So, do you have proof that Polyphony are just drinking lattes all day since launch and not doing squat? Or have all this awesome content that they're keeping to themselves? ;)

I would say it's a pretty safe bet that you have no idea what's going on there, or what the team is working through to give us this content. And this is what I have a problem with, an internet full of know-it-alls who act like the game we were promised is sitting on a hard drive somewhere and the team are laughing at the fans all across the world falling into hysterics over their incomplete game. Or whatever story they carry like a chip on their shoulder, but obviously it's a big conspiracy or something because every critic has decades of experience with everything.

The rest is nonsense.
Orly.

Well, then perhaps you would be so kind as to explain to the forum just why all this content has been delayed. You really should if you know, you'd be the GT Planet Hero of the Week.

But let's go on, shall we? Did you complain up above and elseboard about something not working right? Let's try this scenario.

Because we forced PD to give us stuff just as soon as the last line of code was typed, we got it late, but hey, we got it. And then there are problems.

Course Maker tracks don't line up at the finish line. Cars vanish into the road. The bots can't follow it and pile up at the first curve.

The Event Maker deletes your bank account.

Race Mod keeps you from using anything but Racing Soft tires. Then the Livery Editor randomizes your tuning settings.

Leaderboards adjust everyone's times to match the current leader - NO LOSERS!

I think PD probably aren't yanking us around, but are taking their time to make sure the stuff they patch in is as bulletproof as possible. And I know my hypotheticals are all a worst case scenario, but do any of you recall how a certain car lot in our game mysteriously turned up empty from time to time?? *cue Twilight Zone guitar* ;)

Modeling the sky was a huge waste of time in my opinion, the game is all about looks with very little substance. Career mode is weak, lots of bugs, tuning menus and options are limited, MR and RR physics are terrible they spin out even if you take a corner slow and have racing softs on. Oh lets model the moon and do moon missions too on a racing simulator, I think Kaz has taken too much acid, time to hand this series over to someone that's actually good at making a racing simulator.

I love the positivity man! I can't believe people are so upset about the state of the game. Admittedly I have yet to touch online (which seems to be where the worst of the bugs are), but I've found plenty of content to keep me busy. The new tracks are some of my favorites in any racing game ever, and the physics are a huge step up in my opinion. I'll spend hours just getting the feel for a new car. Thanks PD for making such an awesome game, I'm excited about all the new content on the way! I consider it's slow rollout a feature.

Since playing Atari 2600 Night Driver all those years ago I've looked on with interest in the progression of pixels and computer power to recreate the driving experience.
My first wheel made from an old Atari paddle controller and a large plastic lid, with modified joysticks for pedals served me well for C64 Revs and in the 30 years since, I've bought a few FF wheels always hoping that some game would finally live up to the promise of the driving experience.
Finally a game has come along that I personally feel get's the physics close to perfect and GT6 has persuaded me to upgrade once again to a G27 and a new decent cockpit, combined with an old projector, projecting a 90 inch image, it's Wow! The GT6 Multi screen patch will force my next inevitably expensive upgrade.

The track model team are probably not doing tuning menus and options, career mode and physics. What the "sky" may have costed is probably more like 1/10th of a new track.

And if you don't have the skills to drive RS tyres, go for sports or comfort tyres. It's much easier.

Hail the MightyL! Positive, bro, positive! Yup - that placebo was a given since Peale made it obvious.

But your recital made me think - is it possible that there is a positive experience out there - a whole host of people who are involved with nothing but positive experiences about the series and whatever we have up to date, and who have no clue that out there, somewhere else, a bunch of frogs in a well keep croaking that it's negative everywhere? (Or should be.)

I may be too imaginative to be bored with GT6; I could play all day till my arms fell off, and I would still be finding stuff to do . . ..

And then there's GT5 to dip into whenever I want.

As well as Prolouge, 4, TT, 3, 2 . . . .

Have fun. No guilt. 👍

More Gibberish.

I would say it's a pretty safe bet that you have no idea what's going on there,.

You hit the nail on the head with the first sentence of the paragraph, and that is the real problem

Why on Earth are you trying to turn that into me claiming I know something, when I pointed out the single piece of your post that was relevant.... Nobody knows except for PD and that is the whole damned problem.
