hi guys i was drifting trial mountain in my rx7 d1gp and was wondering if i should try and drift every corner or grip for some of the corners on the track there are some real tricky long low angle bends on that track just wanna no if anyone out there that can drift the whole track. 👍

hmm i can drift the whole track just cant nail a few corners thats all the long sweeping bend after the fifst chicane is a b***h

I can hit allmost all of them. I still have a problem wiht the Banked Left hander after the long straight, and Downhill left before the Pit entry.

yea that is a toughy but i find fienting is a good technuiqe for that corner get about 75% of the time its a b***h when u do a flawless lap and screw up on that bend im sure i no how you feel

There's a clip of my R32 vspec hitting the long left hand straight/banked turn into the tunnel in one drift in my sig. video. it's from gt3 so go figure ;)

Of coures you can drift all the course. It just depends on you your setup your car, and what techniques are used on the depending corner or place on the track.

I believe Sheron linked up the whole track in GT3. Check the GT3 drifting forum for the Linking series.

My GT3 drift entry I link/drifted the whole track. Trail Mountain reverse that is. The link is in the sig.

But regarding GT4, pretty much all corners of this track are driftable. I'm not at the skill level to manji it like GT3 yet, but I'm working on that. I can successfully drift all corners of this track consistently.

Doesn't really answer my question..

Because were all guessing what track you're talking about. Complex String?

Complex corners would be those with more than one apex. Like the bottom loop of Corte de Azure (before the straight) and the section right be for the finish of Rome Circuit. I've never seen any video of those being completed 'properly'. To drift non-stop through trial mountain (forward) you'd want to be able to drift complex corners so turns 3 and 4 could be linked.

are you kidding...
to stay sideways that long from turn 3 to 4 on TM you'd have to come out of turn 3 at like 150mph and powerslide through... (well, I might be exxagerating this a bit :sly: )
just doesnt seem possible to me, personally, i'd throw the tail out the the left inbetween them rather than attempt carrying a single drift that far. But I challenge anyone to prove me wrong on this assumption.

I'd consider the first two rights of midfield, or the first two lefts of GVE-reverse about the farthest you could link 2 similar turns while maintaining a respectable amount of angle. Of course this will depend on the width of the track.

you know d3p0, its quotes of yours like this one that really make me wonder about what you consider good drifting... you like to set some very high standards with your words and generally disagree with other's opinions. (not saying this is wrong or a negative trait of yours, just an observation I made over the last little while)

it makes me a bit curious to see what you pull together for the GTPC you're involved in. Theres definitely 1 spot where a *really* long link as you're describing could be attempted, maybe 2. And another 2 or so spots for some shorter ones So I look forward to your entry and hope that its not a total dissapointment in this regard.

now, back on topic:
like others have said, there's no reason that all the kinks and turns of TM cannot be drifted. I'm not saying I've done it all in one go-around in GT4, but theres no reason why someone shouldnt be able to.

In my opinion it's just a matter of time, someone will land it eventually, even if it goes undocumented, it most likely will be done. Nobody thought dunking from the free throw line was possible--Jordan did it. I challenge someone to call it like Jordan, or Tsuchiya, and land it. I know from experience its possible--don't take that as me saying I've landed it, although I came very close to landing it, very close (not on purpose tho :grumpy: ).

Wow that was some impressive stuff man i dont drift all whell drive though stick to what u no i say fr is all i ever drift but when i think i have matered fr i will try some awd car5s and see what i can do but at least i no it is possible now thanks and that was a great vid man. 👍 👍

TankSpanker: I never said it was possible, but I personally wouldn't consider the course 'fully drifted' unless one were able to do that. Drifting complex corners requires very precise angle control and commitment.

I guess I get my high standards from RL drifting.

You'll just have to wait for the video.

I think in RL drifting it is even LESS possible........I don't think you can say that if you drift in real life. Anyway, this getting a bit too agressive here:scared:

Can you show me that from Jordan, I don't really know what you mean:irked: I think that's just because it's an old vid. or something so that I haven't seen it.

He doesn't mean gtplanet's Jordon, he meant Michael Jordan the retired basketball player.

Whoops my bad, your not in the States :)
