Sitting around lately I have come to the conclusion that I am entirely unhappy with everything in my life really. Hate my job, still live at home, don't have a car. I NEED OUT! I'd like to move somewhere that I can start completely over pretty much. I thought about moving back east, but being that far from family wouldn't be the smartest idea I've ever had. Would love to live in California except that it's expensive and the pollution nazis will ruin my fun, so that is a no-go as well.
Last night I was reading an article on Yahoo about the top 10 cities in America that have bright futures and it hit me when I read that Austin Texas was #1. Not just for all the reasons that they mentioned, but also the fact that the new F1 circuit is being built there. On my lunch today I browsed a few apartment sights and the pricing looks pretty good. I can actually get a nice 1 Bedroom that is fairly close to the track for $500 a month. Can't do that in Phoenix...
The track is hiring at the moment, and I'm sure the closer they get to being operational the more positions they'll have. I plan on uploading my resume to their site tonight and keeping an eye on the listings. Even then, I'm sure I could find something around there that would suit me well and I'm sure pays more than what I'm making now.
So I guess the reason I am posting this is to ask anyone that lives in that area, is it worth it? If someone was to move over 1,000 miles from their family to start a new life, would Austin be a good place to go?
