Prayers Please...

My dad left at 5 this morning to drive out to St. Louis...I prayed about Grandpa last night and actually, I feel at peace about the whole thing. No matter what the outcome, he's in good hands.:) The thing is, he's been "dying" for three years now. LOL:lol: He's such a fighter...it's crazy. I didn't stop to consider that maybe he's ready to go. He's in constant pain now, and I would be ready to die if I were in constant pain. But we just don't know, do we? I hope he pulls through, but God may have different ideas...Oh well;)

My condolences :( I am very sorry. My grandma went through something similiar about 2 years ago. I didn't know what to do. But that helped me through my brother's death in December of last year. Just stay strong and trust in God. He knows what's best. ;) Maybe God is preparing you for something in the future?

no no no, the guy who posted above me said his bro died last year.

btw, hope you grand daddy is better, but as you said, maybe passing on is best since he is in pain.

I'm very thankful that there are so many people who care on gtp...actually, I'm a bit surprised that anyone answered.

One thing you gotta learn about GTP is that even though we're all different, some popular, some misfits, some religious, some not. Actually, I think we got a lil bit of everything here. But, my point here is that we're all together in most things usually.:)

I'll keep you in my prayers though, and I know this isn't the best thing, but God has His reasons for everything that happens.. Much condolences.

My condolences to you, TarnishedAngel.

However, if it gives you any hope, my grandfather was diabetic and had several heart failures. His leg was amputated, and he lived for many years after the surgery. After 6 months of rehab and practice, he was able to walk again, and his quality of life wasn't harmed too much (although swimming the length of a pool was out of the question). He was tough as nails, but could take and make a joke with the best of them.

Hope that helps.

Good news people! My grandpa is ok, for the moment. My daddy called us and said that Grandpa ate some angel food cake and told him to go home! The doctors will run some tests on him tomorrow to see how much of his leg can be saved, and he can't lie down because of all of the fluids in his lungs (They may have to tap his lungs...blech), But right now he's ok!!! I'm so relieved! But we're not out of the woods yet...:irked:

Congradulations!! Thats great news! im very happy for u!

Well.. Tarnished, people all have to die some day.. I think your grandpa isn't ready to die yet.. but just keep this in mind.. and you might feel better..
"Death is a part of life".. you have to learn how to accept that.. If you do... sure.. you still feel pain from someone dying... but you will be reassured that they will live a good "new" life in heaven

That's good news for sure! Our prayers are still with you. My grandma had a heart attack last sunday which left only 25% functioning. It can be awefully scary, but when we trust that God is in control of the situation and we're not, we can trust that his will be done. :)

Im sorry I didnt post anything in this thread before... Ive been working and hasnt had the time to browse the entire GTP forum as I did before, but Im very, very glad that your grand father is going through this. those are some real good news, and I know how you feel, an uncle of mine went trough a little heart atack last saturday. today, he is now in the hospotal room. he is doing ok. yes, I know how relived you are. and I think that you learned something from these moments of sadness and sorrow. I really hope your grandfather goes trough this completely and stays with you for more time... quite more. and, I can assure that I speak for all GTP members when I say that whatever you need, in whatever we can help... just tell us. as someone pointed out, this is a great comunity because we are always united.

Cano

glad to read those good news.

That's such a mature attitude. I'm proud of you.

My non-religious wishes of luck and fortitude are with you and your grandfather.

New Update:
I should say sad update...My grandpa is in so much pain that he has refused to eat anything so that he can die before Saturday. I always thought he was stronger than pain. Like he couldn't feel it...:(
