Predictions for the August 2026 update (1.71)?

Of course, what we're really going to get (if anything) is this...

*Another Vision GT that is also electric

Once again, no. The datamined list(s) do not necessarily contain confirmed cars - nor do they contain every car that has subsequently arrived - and the appearance of any particular vehicle on the list(s) is not a guarantee of future appearance in the game.

Indeed the fact that even in that Twitter-cropped screenshot we can see three Lotus cars should be a dead giveaway that it's only filenames (some of which do go on to appear in the game), with Lotus's appearance on it essentially being down to the fact GT7 is built on the bones of GT Sport and Lotus was in the GT Sport Beta.

With June coming to an end following the strong update that added some Le Mans Hypercars (BMW M Hybrid V8, Ferrari 499P, Peugeot 9X8, Porsche 963 and the Porsche 911 Turbo S safety car), I think it's time to do a little prediction on what the next update (1.71, presumably in July) would be...

Here's my predictions:

It was 7 weeks between 1.69 and 1.70. That looks more like a delay than a plan. If we use last year as a metric, then there should still be a July and an August update. Maybe not a HUGE update like 1.70, but something. I think it will be some missing back catalogue cars. I'd love to see the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale Zagato and maybe another GR3 update.

You should check up on the people who were begging for the 296 GT3 every day before it was added, and ask if they've used it even once since the 992 GT3 R was added and instantly became the fastest car under BoP at most tracks.

Trust, I’ve been noted. ;

Lots of, off track SUVs. Cayenne, SRT Cherokee, Mercedes X-Class Ute, Audi A7, Normal F-150.

Ferrari f12 on a tow truck, yellow R8 Spyder, new Nissan Leaf, New Beetle, older C-Class Coupe., what looks like a White Holden Commodore/Chevy SS. Edit: just a generic sedan.

Here comes a prediction for the next update, that is highly likely to be happening.

PD is going to correct the PP on the engine-swapped 1995 Renault Espace F1. As of the moment, it's way too easy and way too much fun to go around the wet Tokyo Expressway with perfect handling, 1042hp, roaring Nismo-sound and only 599PP/ 589PP with soft or medium racing tyres.

It gives me kind of mini-Tomahawk vibes, and this sort of fun needs to end!

I'm basing this on what I saw in 1.69 and 1.68, not 1.70 (As that's a special case)

Retro sports car - Ferrari F355 '95 - We got the Porsche 911 in the 1.69 update, and with the recent addition of the Ferrari 296, it might be a possibility.

2. Oddball car - Renault 5 E-Tech '24 - There's been quite a few Renaults as of recent. The Avantime in 1.62, The Kangoo in 1.57 and recently, the Twingo in 1.69. I feel that the reason for this might be to eventually add the 5 E-Tech. It's fairly popular over here in europe. It might also come as a Alpine A290.

3. Modern Supercars - Lamborghini Revuelto '23 - Every major model has been represented in GT7, except for the Revuelto.

4. Crossover - Ford Puma ST '23 - From what I've heard, it's a decent crossover in Europe, plus they have to be running out of crossovers to add by now...

Wildcard - A bonus, It's unlikely to appear, but it could appear - Toyota Sera '90

Online players are massively over represented, especially on here and social media (understandably). You can see from the in game figures that it’s only 11% of players that have ever played online and less than 3% that have done more than 50 races. That’s less than one a month since release.

Completing all (launch) Circuit experiences however sits at 40% and driving more than 106km is at 66%.

Not sure what the other 34% of people are doing in the game… scapes and liveries

This is completely normal for what is in effect a "complete chapter 1"-adjacent trophy. Horizon FW's first story-related trophy is at 61%.

A lot of people buy games and then barely play them.

I see some people predicting the arrival of the BMW M4 GT3, but I don't believe it for a second. In my opinion, we're more likely to see the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 coming first. We already have the road version, it would seem logical to me.
