This is completely normal for what is in effect a "complete chapter 1"-adjacent trophy. Horizon FW's first story-related trophy is at 61%.

A lot of people buy games and then barely play them.
Or borrow the disc from a friend

Noooooo, they need to waste more precious development time on a group of cars that almost universally look, drive, and feel the same as each other! And then they need to add all the GT3s, because that's what my favourite Daily Race YouTuber said he wants. And then, get this, when they're added, I'm gonna drive only one of them when it's the meta in Sport Mode and never use any of the others for anything ever!

You should check up on the people who were begging for the 296 GT3 every day before it was added, and ask if they've used it even once since the 992 GT3 R was added and instantly became the fastest car under BoP at most tracks.
Either way, I’ve seen way more people online using the Ferrari 296 GT3 than cars like the FIAT Panda, Renault Twingo, or Renault Captur. Gatekeeping or mocking players who prefer actual race cars in GT is just wrong. This franchise has always embraced all kinds of automotive tastes, and everyone enjoys the game differently. For example, my 7 years old brother got into Gran Turismo because he was amazed by legendary race cars like the Suzuki Escudo, the Toyota GT-One, and the Ferrari 458 GT3, not because of everyday crossovers like the Toyota C-HR or the Peugeot 2008.

...

That doesn't mean everyday cars shouldn't be in Gran Turismo in favor of race cars only; your hostility toward them is honestly "WTF" especially since you know full well that Custom Races exist, so it's not just a matter of their online usage being limited...
EDIT:
No hostility here; among the cars I mentioned, the only one I don't like is the Panda, I like all the others, even the C-HR! 😂

If that's the case, then you're in the wrong lobbies, brother. 😎

I predict the "sony strategy alignment" (aka the fever dream aka 💩 aka rage bait) update for July '26:
  • removed disc support (players with a physical copy need to buy a digital license)
  • price adjustment for gt7
  • price adjustment for the power pack
  • consolidate gt7 versions to the the ultimate version (gt7 + powerpack) and remove all other versions
  • remove the "playstation share function"; every user on the console must buy their own digital copy
  • (to calm the folks down) two free cars (a mazda mx5 and a nissan skyline)

🙃

Because the only consistent online races are with the Gr.3 and Gr.4 cars. Any attempt to have anything to do with the other 90% of cars in the game has been quickly abandoned. And yeah, I think there are a lot of people out there that get their opinions from their favorite Youtubers, and of course they're in favor of Gr.3s at Spa because those are easy to jump in to without any thought or practice. This game could be a lot more than that, but it's not, because whoever is in charge of Sport Mode is apparently afraid to try anything that doesn't bring immediate numbers, and in terms of single player there's a single-digit number of the actually interesting Clubman Cup Plus races. That's the real problem, and the reason there's constant Gr.3 discourse, because other than constant mind-numbing single-player grinding against intentionally brainless AIs there's nothing else to do.

Nice video:

PD's relationship with McLaren seems quite poor. Probably the worst of the major manufacturers outside of obviously Lotus.

Other than the MP4/4 (which probably came as much through Honda as it did McLaren, the car is in Honda's museum where they would have scanned the JGTC NSX), we haven't had a new McLaren in 7 years. Which feels absurd to type, but true.

What's extra baffling about it is the existence of the Solus GT, where McLaren were very vocal in saying "hey this started as our VGT in GT Sport", and then... nothing.

So, yeah, not expecting this to show up at all ever, never mind anytime soon.

Other than the Solus GT, their VGT also influenced the design of the Sabre for the US market.

McLaren's licensing is also quite strange with other games.

Other than GT7 being yet to have any new McLaren road and/or racing cars, there are also a few that are also caught up in their licensing crossfire:

Forza Horizon 6 - The McLaren Senna isn't in the game at launch, suggesting this might have something to do with the Instituto Ayrton Senna due to the use of the name.

Assoluto Racing - As of their most recent update and their launch on the Nintendo Switch, Assoluto Racing has lost all of their McLarens due to the developers being unable to renew their licensing agreements. The only "McLaren" that survived the licensing purge there was the ATS GT, based on the 650S Coupe.

Project Motor Racing - Absolutely no McLaren race cars are to be found anywhere in the game, from the F1 GTR to the 720S GT3.

Assetto Corsa EVO - The 765LT was the only McLaren seen in the game, only in trailers, but has yet to be featured in any early access build, let alone other McLaren models.

Both the recent McLarens released for iRacing have been held at their intended launch date because of them not being able to finalise the licensing/approval for release. They've both been delayed by a few days.

You may be on to something with no update in sight
Aren’t we on time for a silhouette post weekend followed by an update on Thursday still on July? Why are people quickly jumping to the conclusion there won’t be an update this month before waiting at least for this weekend? Of course no update for July is still a decent possibility, but I’d wait at least a few days.

I read you loud and clear.

Its very interesting you mention Spyker not Spyder lol as it was then when in GT6 as seen below. I didn’t know much about the dutch brand, until I found out about them in GT4, A very cool brand like Pagani of specialist supercars.
