It probably wouldn't, but that's a strict violation of an NDA.

I predicted that Porsche would win the Manufacturers' Cup and with Pol Urra being the winner of the Nations Cup, much like the last time around. If I get both wrong, I'm switching my avatar to Ai from Oshi no Ko.
You can't violate an NDA if you haven't signed one.

Just remember: Do not go Full Band (AC7 players know what I mean)

Tbh I'd consider Kaz taking a dump on my front lawn to be a better result than the hypercar update. This news of some new saloons has vastly exceeded my expectations, tainted only somewhat by the presence of another squatting dog design hyundai. Didn't they learn anything from the Chysler Crossfire?

(Also hyundai being lowercase is intentional disrespect, don't bother correcting me)

I'm telling ya, use Claude and make your own championship tracker. PD won't do a career or custom championships. 30 years without a "proper" career mode, and too many people want too many different things.

I made my own, and I'm happy. Sure, it requires some manual input, but I can do anything. I can make a one make championship for every car in the catalogue (that supports Sophy). It's less fun with the regular AI, but still pretty good.

It's a few prompt lines and you'll be ready to go. No waiting.

EDIT - For those 💩 on this post, I'll repeat this franchise is nearly 30 years old. Next year is 30. It's older than some of the people on this forum. If they have not introduced a career yet, it simply is not part of the game DNA and it will never happen. It's the same as asking for an open world. You can wait for nothing, or you can take matters into your own hands.
Before the online multiplayer aspect took over, we had a single player career in the form of Simulation Mode though. If not proper for everyone's standards, it's was the closest thing to one.

There used to be various events & leagues for players to choose from. We had leagues based on difficulty (beginner-extreme), we had rally events, we had the endurance events, regional events, manufacturer's events, missions, etc...

That's no longer part of the series, sadly. Sure, they brought in some events via the Power Pack, but that's not something that should have to be added in through paid DLC, especially not when it was once the bread & butter of the series. It's something that should be part of the overall experience from day one, period. Without it, it feels like Gran Turismo has lost part of its identity, you know.

I'll repeat the same sentiments I echoed in another thread, I have no issue with improvements made on the multiplayer side of things, but it's not right when the eggs get thrown into that basket while another equally important element which helped made the series what it is today gets neglected as a consequence. There's no reason both aspects of gameplay cannot co-exist. There will always be a playerbase who are more old-school like myself, who prefer the traditional Gran Turismo Simulation Mode, just like there are people who love playing online multiplayer. You can absolutely have both, and the series would be in a better spot for it imo.

I'm a broken record on this, but a fix already existed for the main pre-Power Pack single player. If they really wanted to just be lazy, port the GT League from Sport, give some gift cars for the classic feel, set PP limits (or not), and do custom event cars. That they already did this for Sport (the GT League), and did the Power Pack which was focused on better racing, tells me they actively chose to not do a classic GT career.

The good thing I can say about the café campaign, is that they tried something new. It was underbaked, but they didn't retread old ground. However, I think if you're billing the game as a return to the classic days (AFAIK, they even said Simulation Mode is back), go ahead and retread old ground, and if you really want to mix things up, put a twist on the formula that doesn't change the formula itself, but makes the experience a bit different/fresh.

The Power Pack is a good reassurance that they can still do it, at least. That being, good single player racing and a career-like structure.

I’ll add the best thing being we can use all our garage cars where applicable. Makes replayability very high.

For sure, I like that they added that.

EDIT: Also I should say that I'm saying the main menu book/cafe campaign is underbaked, not the Power Pack.

The Main single player "progression" campaign aka Cafe Menu is terrible because lack of options, and being too different from GT3-GT4-GT5 single player progression campaign, like start from standstill or max 5 seconds behind, almost all options [except tires in GT4] & [tire wear in GT3&GT5] which we had in earlier games but not GT7!! When it takes 10-15 coding hours for PDI to fix it.
Also possible; the Cafe Menu Books in GT7 might be semi-decent for players who never played earlier GT games or are aged 7-17 unlike me but [unimportant] worth mentioning, I've only 1 gold in OTT & less than 50% silver.
But the credit grinding is a minor issue, lack of options & worse AI than GT3-GT5 is what makes the Performance Pack my favorite even if I only lack the endurance races, which I suspect won't be fun.

I never bothered with GT Sport. It wasn't for me, so I can't really say anything since I have no experience with the game myself. Do agree though that PD could've went down this route if they wanted to do the bare minimum.

What gets me is that there wasn't anything inherently wrong with the way the old structure was. I'd totally be down with spicing up the formula, mixing things up whilst doing it in a way that compliments progression within the game.

There was no need to stray away from a formula that was already working though. The first 4 games in the series nailed that down to a tee. GT4 was the peak for it, and it's why it (along with its predecessors imo) still remains to this day as a game that can withstand the test of time, one that you could find yourself picking up to play again. Hard to argue with a formula that worked wonders to get you hooked on the series! ^^

This is true, but also frustrating because it proves that they're still capable of doing it, just that they chose not to. Over 3 years after the game's release to boot.

If the overall tone from that didn't leave a bitter taste, I'd be more in support of the Power Pack.

Indeed it does, and we can't forget being able to name the drivers ourselves. Now all we need is the framework to lay out custom championships and we're all set!

It would be so nice being able to have everything done within the game itself and not having rely on a separate application to keep track of things.

TBH, It wasn't a real career. There has never been a "career" in 30 years. The closest thing to career mode is earning the various license levels. I will bet my life this is all we will ever get, but I will get to a solution below.

The in game "championships" are there, and this isn't a challenging thing to put together (by PD). So, the back bone for it exists, they simply haven't given us one, but this might be a good thing...more below.

Yes, absolutely, it would be great to get a custom championship and this is more likely than a "career" mode.

Right now, I can have any championship I want. I'm currently competing in a F1500 series and an Abarth cup. I have all the F1 seasons from 1990 to 2000, I have one that mimics the 2026 season, I have a Group C series, a 1990's "GTLM" with the F40, McLaren F1, etc. What would make it absolutely killer is the ability to customize the driver's as well, so I can give all the F1 driver's their accurate helmet graphics.

Now, what makes this better is that, being a user generated thing, there is no licensing issue. No one can restrict us.

What sucks at the moment, as you stated, is that there's a lot of manual input to track points and such when using outside software. Organizing the grid before the race is a bit of a pain as well, but it's not awful (I built a qualifying order feature into my tracker). It's far better than the canned championships they give us, especially on the competition side.

If they create a career mode, they'll likely cater to the lowest level player so everyone can succeed. With custom championships, you adjust the challenge.

We're way off in the weeds on this topic now...It should be it's own thread.

The GT Cafe should have been the Paddock like a Cars & Coffee.

Anyway, with the Survey having been sent to some players, maybe they will implement some requests by those players. Maybe a championship “career” could be part of the World Circuit in the next update.

If this was prerecorded then how and why is the "guess the winner" still valid?
I suspect because despite it being prerecorded, its still being treated as if it were live for consistancy. Its just that now its more like Movie or show and just like a Movie or show, you'll have to brace yourself for potential spoilers.

And knowing it WAS prerecorded, that means that the winners are known and lots of players have made those selections therefore they will get the prizes unfairly?

Assuming they do know (which might be likely given what's been spilled about it), probably. As stated of course, PD could do with being more selective with their invitees in the future.

Given that the prizes are 1m credits each time and you don't lose just because somebody else wins, I wouldn't regard it is a particularly big deal.
