Yes ,its still just a handheld
I see kids playing them most and older nerds in second... I dont know many kids that have that much laying around
 
Consoles are bought mainly by adults, even if it's for their kids, it's usually paid for by the adults. Not only that, but the home console market has got older recently, the average age of a gamer now is a lot higher than it was when the PSX was released.
 
hmm, I was talking about handhelds. most kids these days I talk to still play old ass stuff like N64 and PSX cause the newer stuff it too expensive.
No doubt the newer consoles are affordable(imo) to adults..

lol you live under a rock or something, half of the kids at my school have a psp i have one, everyone owns either a ps2, x-box or both at my school.

As for price, i'm assuming it's going to be 350..I'm HOPING not assuming. Then it'll still be 370 after taxes, and another 50 for an additional controller. weak sauce.

Its a Portable Playstaion(a little more powerful(spec wise) than PS2) with a screen. Sounds a little more than "just a handheld". If you knew the guts in this system you'd know its a little more than "just a handheld". By the way they make porn and "R" rated UMDs for PSP, doesnt sound like a kids toy if u ask me. If parent were smart they keep out of the hands of kids under 13. Far from a traditional handheld.


$50 for a controller? I'd think at most $40 :) But i guess if sony could sell a DS2 for $30 then a wireless would may cost $50

I bet that some of you guys are already a bit dissapointed since the UMD porns are only in Japan. :) PSP is more than just a handheld by far. It is a portable multimedia machine! Love it and would never trade it in...unless there is a PSP2! :O

no my school is filled with preppy people who are also nerds at the same time, so we own...
 
No...People who get a PSP to play PSP Games are fine, they are normal, and hell even MP3's why not..but when you get one to be a personal media center, and burn movies for it, and go out and buy the movies for it..that is what makes you the nerd..

As for the_con, I try and refrain from personal attacks, but you are the last person on this forum that has the right to point the nerdometer in anyones direction.

It has nothing really to do with nerd, it's the fact that this joker comes here calling people nerds, personal attacks on people, indirectly but intentional, and then expects us to believe he isn't.

He posts often, on the internet, to argue with people. He is a nerd as much as anyone else.

See, that's an internet thing. There's not much else we CAN do. Granted, I was a bit of a nerd myself when I was in school.. Then came ye olde USMC. Call me a nerd in person now, and I'm liable to haul off and hit you. :)

But, can't really do that sort of thing over the internet.

That was just an example, by the way.. I don't own a PSP, so I guess I'm not a nerd.. hehe. :)

So, while you think you may be some hot ****, you don't know jack. I for one will say yea I spend about thirty minutes a day on the internet just to screw around and download roms for my PSP and post on forums. So by your judgement I'm a nerd. But yet I can promise I'd have much more cred than you can ever wish to attain on the street, in the military, or in every day civilian life. You don't know jack about me or anyone else on this site, so to judge people based on a few statements makes you a :dunce: simple facts of life.

Some may be upset about nerd, I could care less, but the fact that he's insulting people and trying to play this double roll like he's better than someone else is what upsets me.
