Problems With The Main Menu?

Am I the only one here experiencing difficulties with the main menu? Whenever I am in Arcade Mode or GT Home or options and I go back to the main menu, the cursor does not appear and I am unable to navigate anywhere. It has been doing this a lot, and I have to press buttons randomly to try and get it started. Recently, I let it just stay like that without the cursor appearing anywhere and I got this message.

"A connection to the server could not be established."

Anyone else experiencing this issue?
 
I have also noticed that the cursor dissappear and it's like the game freezes for å while. I press buttons and suddenly its normal again.
 
yup, having the same problem.
I had to restart the PS3 on one occasion.
Any idea why its doing this anyone?
 
Same here, got it since yesterday. Sometimes I can navigate after a few seconds and sometimes the PS3 freezes complete. I think the servers are overloaded :D
 
Mine just keeps freezing up and always comes up with an error message, A connection to the server could not be established. I bought a brand new ps3 for gt, so i know it's not the ps3. I haven't successfully gotten online yet.
 
i really think gt5 is messing up my ps3... just restarted it from after installing the downloadable cars and now when i try to start gt5 it just freezes and no image no nothing, i can't even power it down.
 
Same here. Constantly getting that connection error. It takes so long to get the message every time at the main menu it feels like the game is locked up!! Sooo frustrating. :ouch:
 
Mine is doing it now, restarted my PS3 SEVEN times and it's doing it as I type this message..

This game is winding me up more and more everytime I play the bloody thing.

6 years to produce this? Is this a wind up or something?

You don't need to reset the PS3, in fact I advise against it. If you just leave it, it will load eventually (a few minutes).
 
Having this problem. Game is also not loading sometimes. And you know the part where it has the red/blue GT logo and under it appears in white text "online requires terms of use blah blah"... sometimes that doesn't show up...

My PS3 isn't freezing as I can still navigate XMB while these errors are occuring.

I left it for 12 minutes.. with the little needle spinning round, it's useless.

Gave up in the end and turnt it off altogether.
 
Just tried again and it locked the PS3 up completely, this is ridiculous.

We keep saying things are ok after disappointing things and more and more things keep popping up, well I'm sorry but at this moment in time, the game is a joke.

I could make this crap in 6 months.
 
Same here, and don't even get me started on the online mode. I tried it once, seemed to be working but not anymore, now whenever I open my lounge I get stuck in a never ending loading screen I can not get out of. Super annoying.
