I think James Brock brokered the deal (or played a leading role) 1 or 2 years ago. Relaunching MG in Australia...which wasn't really notelable.

They had a display at the AusGT this year too. MG6, MG3 and whatever the small SUV they're flogging at the moment is.

...against a Toyota Echo.

Actually, I didn't get around to checking Sunday's times but on Saturday the MG was running at a pace that would have it just in the top 30 of the Excel Series...
Still, a win is a win and they'll keep using it because of that "success". :yuck:

Don't get me wrong. I'm not a racer, but I can see, racers want to race(competitively). If that means in anything, that's fine. I don't shoot down people's dreams..., but in an MG? Using the iconic Brock name? Maybe he should have joined the Excel Cup instead. At least there's more race cred with that series. :sly:

You should like today's (GTS) grid as well.
Live stream from Canada (CTMP) at 4 PM (Eastern?)
GT race at 1:45 today.

They are at Lime Rock next weekend.
I think it was Memorial weekend, 2002, first race I been to at LR. Speedvision WC/TC. Standing in torrential rain, watching those RS6s sliding all over the place, while Auberlen's M3 looked super quick. The TC cars were even louder than the WC cars. Love that track.

Speaking of rain, today's GT races are pushed back to at least 4:10 due to fog/rain.

Porsche race ??

For the first ever time, I'm watching a livestream of World Challenge from the World Challenge's YouTube channel. Mosport (nowadays Canadian Tire Motorsport Park) has always been a formidable and great challenge. Good amount of action in this race.

I really need to start going to these.

Improved Production has previously also featured on the Bathurst 12 Hour support bill and is expected to see a 55-car field in conjunction with next year’s Bathurst 6 Hour.

“Improved Production racing at Bathurst has always been spectacular and we’re excited to be partnering with James O’Brien and the very popular 6 Hour event on our return,” said Improved Production National Administrator, Garry Mennell.

“The different strengths and weaknesses of the cars involved allow them to be strong at different points of the circuit – some are better down Conrod (Straight) and some faster across the top.

“That, and the huge variety in the field, from rotaries and turbocharged cars to later model Holdens and Fords, promotes fantastic racing.

“We know competitors from around Australia will flock to the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour to be part of the weekend and we’re certain of a full grid once again.”

Heritage Touring Cars features machinery from both Group C (1974-1984) and Group A (1985-1992) including cars such as the Nissan GT-R ‘Godzilla’ and Ford Sierra RS500.

“We’re the custodians of these magnificent Group C and A touring cars, and we love taking them to the track for everyone to enjoy,” said Heritage Touring Cars director, Ed Singleton.

“There is no better opportunity to show them off and share them with the fans than a blast around Mount Panorama at the Bathurst 6 Hour event.

“We’ll be assembling a big field of Heritage Touring Cars, made up of Godzilla GT-Rs, Sierras, BMWs and Walkinshaw Commodores, big banger Commodores, Falcons, Toranas, Escorts and Corollas all battling it out for class honours right through the pack.”

Going to be cool to see how the A110 GT4 does

Continental race live at Road America right now

First 15 minutes and already a huge collision with no idea what exactly caused it.

I always like the stubbiness of the 1 & 2 M cars. Remind me of the old 13" wide tires on the Countach.
Well since the M3 has morphed into an M4 and is now more in size with the old 80's 635, I'm liking the 1 & 2 series M variants too. They're more like the iconic E30 M3.

I was in that race. First race in the car and only second time driving it so it was an amazing experience. We had a problem with the fuel filler and 3 blown rhf tires which cost us a few laps, but we finished so we were stoked.
Congratulations & well done on making it to the chequered flag. There's no prizes for over-driving the car & ending up with a DNF.

Put this one down to experience, learn from any mistakes that were made & best of luck in the next race :) 👍
