Campbell had drafted in Courtney Prince to share driving duties at Queensland Raceway, but a lack of available parts resulted in the car’s withdrawal ahead of the round.

Ultimately, Campbell made the decision to step back from the series due to an ongoing customer support dispute. “Essentially this is customer racing and there has been a lack of customer support from the manufacturer so we have decided to pull out for the remainder of the season,” Campbell told Speedcafe.

A statement from the Miedecke Group cited freight delays as the reason behind parts being unavailable.

“Unfortunately, unexpected shipping delays have meant that parts required by the DA Campbell team for chassis repairs will not arrive in time for Round 3 of the GT4 Championship,” it read.

“Every effort was made at Ford Racing to ensure the team could take to the track next weekend, including booking air freight to expedite delivery of the required components.

“Unfortunately due to transit delays beyond their control the parts will not arrive in the country until Monday, leaving insufficient time for the necessary repairs to be completed.

“While this is the first time Ford Racing has been unable to fulfil a customer parts order, we are incredibly disappointed by the timing.

I love the steering wheel Porsche use for their GT race cars. I wish the VPG replica was in any way affordable, because I’d love to have one on my sim rig.

As is standard under GT4 regulations, these performance figures vary depending on the Balance of Performance (BoP) classification. For example, the 911 GT4 R is delivered ex-works with air flow restrictors (53.7 millimetres), which reduce power to 316 kW (430 PS). Power is transmitted via a sequential six-speed dog-gearbox with steering-wheel paddle shifters and a four-disc racing clutch.

GT World Challenge Australia and GT4 Australia will be the headline acts in 2027 as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries finale.

“Bathurst Regional Council received a proposal for a casual event at Mount Panorama in 2027 and that was discussed under confidentiality as commercial in confidence,” Deputy Mayor Ben Fry told Speedcafe.


“Bathurst Regional Council has cleared a path for a fifth event gap to be filled in 2027. We’re of the view that any free gap in our calendar is not an event well utilised.

“We have the ability to hold five events every year and not using that full allocation is a wasted opportunity.

“Without giving too much confidential information away, councillors decided that is true and we should try to utilise Mount Panorama as an asset as much as we can.

“The good thing for Bathurst and our region and the state of New South Wales and the commonwealth more broadly is that we’ll see the maximal amount of racing, we hope, in 2027.

“We’ve cleared that path and made it possible for this to occur and now we’re waiting SRO to confirm their intent and what sort of event they intend to bring.”

Confirmation will come on Friday when global promoter SRO Motorsports Group hosts its annual press conference on the eve of the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa.

SRO Motorsports Group boss Stephane Ratel will reveal the calendar for the major championships there, including GT World Challenge Australia.

All for it...so long as they make GT4 the main attraction AND as a round of the 2027 championship to guarantee as many cars as possible.
 
Yep. Don’t need to do too much. As much as I’d like a mini enduro, keep such an event nice and simple. The 12H is right around the corner.
