Do you guys think this game could actually be launching with close to 200 cars by default?

Depends what you mean by close. Within 25 cars, yes. Within 3-5, no.

Yes, indeedee. Possibly Road cars, NASCAR, V8 Supercars, Formula, TCR, new manufacturers. Hopefully something tomorrow.

SMS did confirm in a Twitter reply the the Ford Fusion "NASCAR" is returning as seen in pCARS1. No other competitors have been announced or seen though.

In a video I posted last week one of the producers interviewed said that the game currently has 189 cars....

I remember that. That's why jake's comment confused me a little. So that number is something that could still be growing, correct?

It could but I doubt by much. If they top 200 they will have to revise their car claim and say " the game will feature 200 cars"...as opposed to now being " 180+ cars". The game will probably launch with less then 200.

Could you elaborate? I'm not quite getting what you're saying.
Basically, what I was asking was what you meant by close. If you class 180+ as close, then yes it's close. But if you class 195 cars as close but not 194, then no.

So the number of genuinely new cars should be between 7 and 10. I'll be watching to see what they present us with.

It's just as an example. I don't know if there an any other style of CAPER Stock Car for PC2. I mention that, because we see a new SMS-R TC for that category. We'll see. So much left to be revealed. Good times.

I think the number is around 40 because the standard version should ship with 180+ cars and this doesn't include DLC. If I look at the list on the first page there are only 148 confirmed cars with DLC excluded. Which should leave another 40 for us to discover.

I must say though that I find it very confusing so far and I hope PCARS2 releases the full list (without DLC) this week.

It is gettin confusing just a little. I definilty hope there's nice chunk of new cars still to be unveiled as there's still plenty of cars from the first game that would fill in instead. There was a Twitter post last week saying this week they will PROBABLY have a full car and track list reveal...we will see.

Sorry if I'm asking the obvious, but: Is that their "final" list?
I don't think so.
It is missing Ferrari, Lamborghini and Toyota...those we know are missing. They will probably be revealed in the TBA.

Known cars that are missing:
Jaguar E-Type Group 44
Chevrolet Camaro Trans AM
Ford Fusion Stock Car

And road cars are all mixed up together, some classes dont seem to make much sense, it's work in progress for sure. 2016 Mclaren P1 GTR under "Trackday" ? what? He is not suppose to race with others GT3 or GTE? V8 supercars under "drift"? what?

The list adds up to exactly 189, the number that was stated not long ago. Now to fill in the blanks of the TBAs...

Group 5 - 5/6
Group A - 3/5
GTO - 4/6
GT1 - 5/7
GTE - 4/5
GT3 - 16/18
LMP1 - 3/4
LMP900 - 3/5
Vintage Prototype 2/3
Touring Car - 3/4
Vintage Touring Car - 5/9
Road Cars - 37 / 46
Track Day - 9/11
DLC 8/8

Which leaves 22 cars to be revealed.

Not really, I think we already know what most of those cars are.

It was meant as an extra help to see were the blanks need to be filled in ;) With the cars that are known, how many are left?

Is something wrong with those 2 different open wheelers both being classed as 2016 Formula C?

Yes, one should be Formula Rookie.
