Had a blast last night with the game :) T300 worked perfectly. Drove that audi (GTO i think..) @ Zolder and omg that turbo whistle is insane. Also tried the toyota LMP1 @ Le mans. A lot of fun and sooo much content. I thought I bought this game to pass the time till GTS arrives but now I'm thinking GTS might be a bit underwhelmng when it arrives.. Have fun guys and congrats to the team @IanBell

so i had an hour of racing last night (patch dl took only 30 min.). out of the box: pad controls are better (only had to tweak the sensitivity so far), graphics are nice (but all the effects and stuff taking its toll), gameplay (drove Z4 GT3 and EVO X) seemed good, the menus are nice to navigate (similar to FIFA menus). i drove the AI at 81%/60% and it was fun, not to much of a challenge but very fun.
some AI chaos when having 30 cars on bathurst...
the content is huge!!! i like that its possible to save fav. track/car/weather/opponent template (favorites)!
the drone cam is nice. the photomode offers a lot of options. this is just a small first impression. you guys want to know anything? maybe i could stream tonight...
looking forward to set up my t300 and the rig this weekend!

Like others already wrote I also did my first laps. Historic Spa in an old Escort. So much fun. I have not changed wheel settings (fbb) yet but 'out of the box' my opinion is that it is already ok. You can feel the traction, wheels and rubber between car and track. And fine tuning to my personal preference will even make it better. And then the huge amount of content it's overwhelming. Stress moment, which car/track combo? time trial or race? choices!

Also in VR it is stunningly beautiful. Replay 'track side' view and you are in the middle of the crowd. A lot of spectators are drinking coffee but I saw one drinking wine ;)

To be honest it is way too soon to have a real verdict because I just drove about two hours in PCars2. First impressions: WOW! (but did you expect anything else?).

And this is not a joke: I remembered from the Ozzie/Ian Q&A that you can also tilt the car mirrors and while in VR I reached out with my hand to actually turn the inside car mirror towards me...:embarrassed::crazy:

@bleeder : go for it! YOLO

Well I managed to play this for about 20 minutes, and coming from someone who played a lot of Forza 6, I honestly don't know how to feel about this game. Trying to drive the McLaren 720s on Long Beach felt more like a chore than an enjoyable experience. Nothing I did could keep the car and control and I soon found myself hitting wall after wall after wall. The game still has roughly six hours worth of content to download, and I honestly hope that the rest of the cars aren't as ridiculously hard to drive as the McLaren.
The McLaren is only hard to drive if you try to drive it as a race car. It's a road car, so it's very easy to over-drive.

Car felt ok to me once the tires heated up. For some reason the car seems to hit neutral for a split second when you shift up though, causing wheelspin at lower speeds once the gear actually engages.

I just tried the BAC Mono @ Cadwell Park, ugh, that thing is twitchy... Very mixed feelings about the game so far. Driving isn't very enjoyable, feels like I always have to guess what the car is about to do rather than "feel" it :boggled:

Turns out I DPd too. I thought there'd be way more activity here tonight. I took an extended weekend to spend time with PC2 and I'm still waiting for someone to suggest some decent FFB settings as the defaults so far have been disappointing.
The problem with FFB is that it's completely subjective/personal. I find default RAW on my CSW v2.5 giving excellent FFB for me. So what are you expecting from the FFB, what are you feeling now, and what wheel are you using?

So I played that game with pad. With the pad settings I currently have it reminds me a LOT of R3E, especially the traction of the cars, which is definitely easier than the last game (especially on cars like the RADBUL or the 1965 Indycar). There is a very minor deadzone in the left stick I can't seem to get rid of, but that's not an issue after some accustomisastion, I'd guess.

Graphically, the game is quite buggy; within three hours I witnessed tyres doing their own thing despite contradicting inputs from my side and Fuji had some very strange lighting on the left side of the screen.

AI is as expected; not awful but much more close to awful than to good. I even think their worse than PC1, because that AI was a bit too aggressive but tried to race you. This still tends to back off when it's next to you.

Cars, drifting, rallycross, snow (even though that's difficult as hell) and the sheer amount of things you can do is absolutely insane and all in all, I don't regret one Euro I've spent.

That sounds weird. Would be nice to see some screenshots or short video of that on the official pCARS2 forum for us to look into.

Oh man, these new tuning options are a bit overwhelming. So much more to tinker. I do kinda miss the sliders though, particularly for gearing ratios and anti-roll bars. The sliders were a good visual way to quickly determine how soft/hard the bars are, for example, and where the values end. Will get used to it.

Sorry, don't have time for that. However, the car-track combo the tyre thing happened was 1965 Indycar/Le Mans and the Fuji issues were for every car I drove on that track (Indycar, AMG A45 Touring Car, RADBUL)

The AI is doing some really, really strange things fron time to time. I watched then in qualifying and saw some cars at a snails pace, some cars driving forth and back in the gravel, other cars driving in snake lines. It was... slightly mad.

But the most stupid thing ever witnessed is the fact that the game will always screw you when skipping to the end of the qualifying session. I was at the pole, AI couldnt touch me. 2 minutes left, all of them were in the pits. I skipped to the end and what happend? I had to start fron P14!! Now THIS is stupid!

Agreed. I prefer sliders to numbers so you can see where you are in the range

5am at Knockhill, the sun rising over the pit garages - wow wow wow.

The 'live track 3.0' is VERY impressive,i set it to start on heavy rain then go to dry - the way the puddles form and grow, then the track dries but the puddles stay and dry up slowly is excellent - you really have to watch where youre putting the car.

Driving with the pad feels fine right out of the box imo. The Megane 275 feels very nice to drive for a road car.

Happened in pCARS1 too. I had a car go round Barcelona 45 seconds quicker than anyone else.

Yes go to the ice track and set the season to winter (I think!). :)
The date needs to be in a 1-month window, starting sometime in January and ending on a corresponding day in February. The 'lights' will animate at a speed corresponding to your time acceleration, so 60x time accel gives you more of the effect you tend to see in videos of them. Also worth noting that they only start after midnight and stop shortly before sunrise :)

I cancelled my initial download, so i could install it offline then play with a controller without having to wait for the patch to download.

For starters, this game looks and sounds beautiful. I knew what to expect but i'm somewhat impressed (despite some minor graphical things). Considering after playing the FM7 Demo last night which is visually stunning. Controller gameplay is great though a little sensitive at low speeds but i'm more used to a wheel.

So far, so good :D

Man, I've got 2 engine failures in 2 races. Megane TCR, the game froze on me for about 10 seconds at Sugo(dry conditions, 10 minutes). I applied the brakes when it happened and when the game "came to", I was in a gravel trap, but not close to the wall. This happened lap 1 into the 3rd turn. i got an engine overheating warning from the engineer. Soon after, engine died.

The second was in the Cayman GT4 at Fuji. During the Formation Lap, i got bumped from the rear by the AI. i got an overheating warning(Lap 2) and was told to grab cool air down the straights. I could see my temps rise from 121 to 136, back down to 125 and then temps went up and stayed up to about 142. Engine kaput.

I don't like the way you can save over a different car's setup by accident. For example I was previously driving the Ferrari 333, saved a setup, then the next race I jumped in the BMW Z4, hit save setup and it saved straight over the Ferrari one. Every car should automatically have it's own save slot, we shouldn't be able to save over a different car IMO. I know there's an option to save to new setup slot, but surely it'd be nice to have per-car saves as default?

EDIT: Don't mind me, forget everything I just wrote, I'm an idiot. My old save is still there, it's just when saving the new car's setup it still listed the Ferrari save at the setup title. All seems fine. Woops
